It's still a pleasure to watch just the game play... My friend who could afford it first bought it and would play, we would just watch. It was still interesting just to watch what turns out in the game.!!! Love Mario!

Played this game so many times, first on december 1988 and just saw in this video that you can actually destroy enemies when Mario turns into that stone statue.
I didn't even know about the switch at the beginning on 8-1. It's amazing how many things I still find about this game 30 years after first playing it.
Whenever Mario collides with an enemy as either Tanooki, Frog or Hammer Brother Mario, an outline of the suit then in use flies off of him. It also takes him back all the way down to small Mario. The U.S. version instead turns these special versions of Mario to a simple transition one step down to Super Mario (with the special suit loss outline removed), rather than revert straight to his small form as in Super Mario Bros. 1 and Super Mario World. The outline did make its return in the Super Mario All-Stars version.
When you run to the square at the end and touch it, the star always comes out. It does not seem to be random. That can be considered a fault of the game in favor of the player.
How can you be so chill with Bowser in front of ya??! i mean its BOWSER!! I remember getting so nervous at the castles, always loosing for not keeping it together man!! hahah Great vid, thanks!
How do you get this in such quality? I mean I don’t even see a trace of what I’m guessing is real-time rendering when you’re scrolling through a level or flickering.
Wow, my childhood game. Im never finish this game because too long play time, but thanks to this video, I am no longer curious about the end of this game
