Super Mario Maker has many features from 4 different 2D Mario games, and they share lotta similarities. Super Mario Maker 2 is much more modernised, added even more features and even 5th game style. Even if one day SMM 3 will become a reality, I'm almost confident that it won't beat SMBX by the amount of features, tiles, enemies, mechanics, etc. and the amount of games they all were taken from, meaning all levels in SMBX (auto, non-auto) are next level!
