Every game has it's own way to full completion. In Super Mario Galaxy 2 the Comet Medals are one of these ways to obtain even more completition of gathering Stars through the universe, along with the new challenges, that every galaxy sets up after an obtained Comet Medal.
Welcome to the video-walkthrough for World 5 and 6!

Every Comet Medals in world 5 and 6 will be shown in the video and to spice it up a bit, a short description is headed further down if the following pictures wouldn't say anything at all to you.
List of the following galaxies in this video:
World 5 -
◣ Space Storm Galaxy
Around the circled pipe with the electric fences lies this galaxy's Comet Medal. Just jump around and avoid the fences. Eventually you will find it.
◣ Boo Moon Galaxy
Along with the purple moving platform, you will arrive to a launch star, which is the end of the very ride. Just before the launch star you will see this Comet Medal.
◣ Upside Dizzy Galaxy
In the ceiling where an electric fence is headed, the Comet Medal is just under the fence.
◣ Slipsand Galaxy
When you come to the part of the galaxy with the flying and bombing chickens, you will see the Comet Medal in the sliping sand.
◣ Fleet Glide Galaxy
Fly through all 5 gates to unlock the cage at the very end of the course where the Comet Medal is.
◣ Shiverburn Galaxy
This Comet Medal is headed around the moving stones where lava is right beneath your feet.
◣ Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker
After you've been launching Mario through the 2nd Target Launcher, jump onto the blue spinning platforms, where this Comet Medal lies.
World 6 -
◣ Melty Monster Galaxy
At the part with all the moving lava monsters you will jump between floating stones. Just before the long-shaped stone there is a round stone up ahead, where the Comet Medal lies.
◣ Clockwork Ruins Galaxy
When the spinning stone wheels comes down from above, jump up onto the last one and stand in the inwards-sawed part of the wheel, to reach the Comet Medal in the air.
◣ Throwback Galaxy
Head to the flagpost of this galaxy. Just under the platform with the flagpost lies another platform. Jump down to the 2nd platform and curl down the other flag to obtain this Comet Medal.
◣ Battle Belt Galaxy
Just in the start of this galaxy, at the 2nd piece of planet, the Comet Medal is floating above some lava with the three lava-enemies.
◣ Flash Black Galaxy
Take to the left as much as you can while Yoshi eats the blue-friendly fruits to become a balloon. At the top to the left lies this Comet Medal with some bombs around it.
◣ Slimy Spring Galaxy
Just when you swim down in the cave with the Green Shell equiped, there is a cave to the left that you will see after a while.
◣ Bowser's Galaxy Generator
After you've been running with the red hot chili-fruit along with Yoshi, you will end up on two divided platforms. Avoid the two monsters from the lava, and you will see the Comet Medal at the lava waterfall, as the platforms join together.
