I loved this game. I was 9 years old and got it about a week after it's release. This game was unique because 100 coins didn't get you an extra Mario life and the amount of time you get to clear a stage varied.
Finally a relatively perfect longplay! Took all money and lives from almost all zones (except the bee level), killed even the doggy ghosts and skeleton, saw another player with the shark. Would love to see someone killing the bumblebee. My life is filled
The Honey Hive Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy kind of reminds me of the beehive portion of The Tree Zone; except that the bees are friendly, and you can become Bee Mario or Bee Luigi.
This game was marketed like hell when it came out. The commercials were awesome. We all thought we were witnessing the grand console-worthy Game Boy Mario adventure we'd always wanted. It... was not that. Couldn't WAIT to play Christmas morning and had beaten Wario by dinnertime. So much for SMB3 on Game Boy. However, the color just makes this SING. Really, this video makes me pine for a straight-up 6 Golden Coins 3D remake for Switch. This game might have been primitive and easy, but damned if the imagination isn't there. Give me a Bowser's Fury-style open world with this aesthetic. It would be amazing.
I actually come back to this game more than any other 2D game _because_ of how cute and small it is. It's a pocketable adventure to kill for an hour. Other Mario games are longer, but not necessarily more fun. A perfect mario game for on the go.

I’m glad this isn’t official cuz it’s a bit of a letdown. So many characters aren’t at all how I imagined they’d be colored lol. Some levels look great while others are way off for me. But meh. And Mario isn’t that tan.
