Didn’t realise that until I saw this comment 😂 They literally made us play a platforming level in the practice room because “the first level has platforming” and I swear this covered up the auto gimmick soooooo well!
Been watching both Carl and juz for years now. It's a treat to see them both get bodied by the troll community in real time. It's also heartwarming to see their legit friendship. As vindictive as Carl can be in his level creation, you can tell how much he values the community.
"I'll wait for you Juzz" Carl says smugly with the goal in view. The one time Carl got overconfident and the troll community humbled him so quick I screamed laughing that was a top tier troll.
I gotta say, as someone who's watched Mario maker since smm1, and partially got into gdq because of the streambigdotnet vs hot pockets blind relay race all those years ago, this feels like the best display of Mario maker there's been at a gdq. The blind kaizo races will always be a pillar of smm at gdq, but something about this race just feels so authentic to what makes Mario maker so great to watch. These levels somehow managed to evoke wonder from two players that have seen every side of this game, and the joy emanating from both of them is infectious. In a lot of ways it feels like an end of an era once again for Mario maker. Will we get smm3? Only time can tell. But watching this race tonight, has brought back the same awe and joy I felt the first time I watched Mario Maker. Feelings towards this game that I thought I had lost. I won't say that I'm ready for Mario maker to end. I will happily continue following along if we are blessed with an smm3. But if this really is the end of an era for Mario maker, in general or at gdq, I don't know if there could have been a better way for it to end 💜 Thank you Carl & Juz, Marble & Jneen and everyone else involved in this race for giving me my little bit of Mario maker joy again 💜

This was a new type of trolling for sure! Screen sniping, trolled from screen sniping, friendly toxicity, plus commentary on the go! And the trolls themselves were so on point! This was definitely an experience to watch! Spoiler: Fake flagpole into death is a thing in Super Mario Maker 2?!
Was super fun getting to playtest these levels before they were unveiled on stage, I am always impressed with the tech folks in the community are still managing to discover and utilize after so many years of Mario Maker and experiencing the levels blind is actually magic. Also, I was losing it when both of them were just completely ignoring the "throw POW block against wall" indicator
Awesome... just awesome! It was so great to watch you, I would not be patience enough to play even one of these levels, so shout out to Carl and Juz, who made me a great time to watch this! All the best from Germany, the country of Bratwurst and Beer❤
This was absolutely hilarious to watch. Thank you, Carl and Juz, for the laughs, and mad props to the makers for pulling off what seemed like an impossible troll!
Beautiful! I loved seeing Carl and Juz and hearing all the MM community memes! That last stage ending was EPIC! Love that you got other classic creators involved, too!
It was so much fun watching juz and carl play this awesome troll levels. Both are fantastic and i love the videos of juz and carl. Big compliments to the level creators. Greetings also to Geek. Love your videos and we miss you.
That makes me wonder if you could make a troll SPECIFICALLY for screensniping trolls Like the easiest thing to think of is the "Start Over" room, except 10 seconds later (hopefully after the other player screen snipes), the bobomb blows up and reveals a "Dont" (Dont start over), and reveals the goal shortly after Im sure there are better screen snipe trolls but thats the easiest I could think of [Edit] Actually i said that but they kind of just happen naturally 38:04 while intended to troll the player, doubled as a troll to the screen sniper
Hacking the level's save file is how! They placed a goomba in the level, and turned it into a placeable flagpole when they hacked the save. (Fun fact, they actually did this twice. Both of the goomba goalpoles were in the subworld, and only the goalpole in the level thumbnail was the real one.)
33:31 just above the coina under the cloud on carls side, there is a tiny gap between the moving platforms you might be ble to s cheese and skip….
These are hilarious, and these two runners are BOTH the best! Carl, Juz, GG to you both! And once again, sadly, the truth has revealed itself: Nintendo hates fun. The levels are of course, long gone.
i love how this is a "race" by a very loose definition XD more like one of those relay derbies with a driver and a navigator and they're both drivers and each others navigators XD
I read them out on stream but it was pretty easy to miss. The glitchy troll levels won't be up for long, so download them while you can! B8Q-MXG-FDG Also TempestFunk's maker code is XXW-PBW-23G if you want to try the getting down under it level! Thanks for watching!
