im amazed by how he hit the double corkscrew skip at 3:58 to my knowledge, its one of the hardest skips in the game to get consistently, so huge props to him hitting it flawlessly LIVE
this run was incredibly fun! Stelmo is great speedrunner and commentator, his runs are always entertaining and seeing him once again on GDQ but now on a big stage is definitely a treat. not to mention that developer of this great project prepared for Stelmo a short preview of another update for the game, truely iconic run
What I kinda like seeing about this is that it's not just clipping through stuff, the character go over walls which nowdays would just have a boring invisible wall to avoid this type of shortcuts.
Incredible run. Stelmo is an incredible runner. He executed amazingly while maintaining top tier commentary the whole time. Super solid couch commentary as well from Gordon Ramsay, just the right amount of humour. Also Kungfufruitcup is also one of the least intrusive and most eloquent hosts. What a solid, solid GDQ VOD. Instant top tier.
I think if we take the rose tinted glasses off it shows there was an ok game in there, not great. Even once "fixed" and working as intended, a lot of the original gameplay design choices are just fundamentally bad + some stuff in there that was very much planned and working as intended (Elise making out with anthropomorphic hedgehog as a plot point) is just very very weird. It was never destined for true greatness if we are being realistic about it.
@@pjs232 Every once in a while i see guys like you saying that the game is fundamentally bad, but if you don't mind, answer me some questions as someone just curious to understand your point Have your ever played the original game, or beaten it entirely Regardless to the first question, have you at least tried to beat project 06 If you haven't tried any of the two games and is basing your opinion purely on reviews and what you think about these games, don't mind anything that i said and just ignore me, because i myself will not care for your opinion But if you played or beaten the original, at least say to me one aspect of, idk, wave ocean that is so fundamentally bad that it makes even project 06 version bad or just okish At last, if you have beaten project 06 and at minimum viewed various things about the original or played both games, just say to me what essentially doesn't work in these, that makes it mid or just an ok game I just want to reinforce that i'm not attacking you or trying generate conflict, it's just my curiosity towards where this generic "sonic 06 is fundamentally bad, so project 06 sucks/is mid" comes from
@@pjs232 Are you 100% sure that the Elise kiss scene would've stayed in if the game wasn't rushed? If they didn't have time to put playable gameplay in it, they probably also didn't have time to truly polish out the story
p06 is pure joy and it's so good to see it on gdq, it really makes 06 such a different experience with the momentum preservation and freedom of routing much needed in any Sonic game
Man what a fun run to watch, so glad I watched it. The love of the project definitely shows and the run itself was the best i've seen in a Sonic run in years.
I'm sorry but I just find it so funny that when Stelm and Gordon started the "USA" chant, the audience was totally nonplussed. Not a lot of patriotism to be found in a room full of young queer people. xD Nothing against the guys. I don't know whether their enthusiasm for America was satirical or not but regardless they're entitled to it. I just thought the way this played out was funny.
