@Ben Dover I wholeheartedly agree. I don’t mind horror/creepypasta stuff every now and then, but if it was just some sort of parallel universe thing where the levels were different but not creepy or cursed (excluding the obvious mild horror level a la Big Boo’s Haunt), that would be cool.
@@TheoZaHero I basically agree. The "personalized copy" thing is like something trying to scare the hell out of you. One thing is that i wish it was more interesting showing custom levels that look cool and stuff. And it's extremely weird since why the heck will the player want Wario ingame, when all he does is like give a virus, and not something great like this!?!?
This game really encapsulate the Mario 64 core gameplay. It's not just a hack that wants to be unbearabely hard and stupidly designed. Some stars are super easy to get and some propose a real challenge (like the cannon star in Piranha Plant Pond), the designs of the levels feels like a legit Nintendo plateformer game, it's not a mess of all lava or void. The person behind this hack really studied Super Mario games. And I can't wait to play the DS version, Super Mario Star World. I wonder when it's out...
I am absolutely mind blown over the quality of this FAN REMIX! The levels are stunningly beautiful, the star missions look challenging without being overly sadistic, and the soundtrack is brilliant!
I definitely need to try this, but something that needs to be said already: Starlight Runway looks like 1000 times better as final course than Rainbow Ride. In every single aspect.
this is way better and more attuned with the original spirit of Mario 64 than Last Impact LI just feels like a typical fan-game quality-wise, with tons of music/designs/references from or to other games that feels weird compared to how this mod does it when it does
I almost smashed my controller trough the TV, I never thought a rom hack would ever do that to me. This is a complete new game and it's amazing!! I can't thank the creator enough
The file selection, 1. how does anyone make music using Mario 64 based sounds? 2. The song itself reminds me of one of the stages in super Mario galaxy.
@ArjenRobben Mr.Wembley As long as no one is making money off the hacks I doubt they'd care. It's just a fan-made hack made for enjoyment and not illegal monetary profit.

Awesome hack, definitely plenty of great parts that could rival if not equal the original game! Only real complaint is about Large Leaf Forest, allegedly the most broken part of the game, where the mushroom inside the big tree that's supposed to move up and down wouldn't let me land on it. It was so broken I ended up having to use a Moon Jump cheat code to get past it and get all the level's power stars, but other than that I'm having a great time with this excellent hack! ;-)
I found a reproduction cart of this on Ebay. I knew there was no way it worked properly, but I was curious so I bought it. It ran at like 3 frames a second and half the textures were missing. Pretty much what I expected.
Previously, my only experience with "longplayers" was World of Longplays who is kinda meh from what I've seen, so I was wondering going into this video how skilled you would be and then you just pull out a backwards long jump on me. Color me impressed.
Matthew Brooks World of Longplays usually are first time players. It's either a noob or a person who's memorized every single area and can beat an FPS game without taking a hit

Greetings from Japan.🇯🇵 I bought "Super Mario 64" for N64 28 years ago and completed it completely.😌 If the author had written this "Super Mario Star Road" onto a blank 64DD disc, given it the Japanese title "Super Mario 64-2 For Super Players", and presented it to me back then, I would have believed it to be an "official sequel" like the Disk System version of "Super Mario Bros. 2 For Super Players".😍 It was a truly wonderful fan-made work. I'm watching and playing Super Mario, and making Super Mario videos for Mario Day! This rom hack is really fun to watch! I also recognize some music from Super Mario Galaxy, like Space Junk Road, my favorite song, at the file select! The Super Mario Galaxy games are my most favorite games ever and are some of the games, along with Super Mario 64, I am playing most for Mario Day! :D

Yep lol I saw a video of the treasure chest (entrance of the candy level) a longgggg time ago and thought it was a secret course in the castle's attic... I swore to classmates and friends that there was a secret course (not knowing about hacks lol) but could never find the video again...
When climbing the windmill (through the vase) you hit the purple switch and the angles are so bad you cannot see the part you are walking on!! SOOOOO frustrating.. by the time you have pressed every camera angle to see where you are.. the blocks have gone!! not good
I got a copy of this ROM HACK for the N64 and the Title and Menu Screen work perfect but when I go to play it the game moves slowly and when I go to a course the color is gone
