Nostalgic as it gets, i was 5 years old playing this religiously. And still the feeling of payback on whoever hurt my Yoshi instinct kicked in after all these years. Still the best mario ever imo
It's actually refreshing seeing a version that isn't a super perfect speed-through with glitches. Takes me back to secret exits and taking apart controllers with screwdrivers to fix ones that were thrown during the special stages.
God this takes me back! The Nostalgia is real, I was about 6 or 7 when I started playing this, I would go over to my friends house for hours and hours, they got a super nintendo sooner than I did, I still only had an NES at the time, still loved Super Mario 3 though! That and this mario are the best ones in my opinion.
Nintendo GameCube Nice, when I was three I was playing with toy cars and squirt guns, it wasn't until about 5 that I started playing video games, I started playing tank wars on DOS floppy disk until we got our nintendo.
I remember the hours i spent with my brother-in-law playing Super Mario and Mario Bros back in 2004, 2005 and 2006. I own a very special part of my friendship with him to Nintendo. The last time i played with him was in november 21nd, 2006. Unfortunately he passed away in november 22nd, 2006, the day after we spent hours and hours playing the Mario game series, victim of a car crash. Thank you very much for this upload. P.S.: I miss you, André. Someday i will hopefully play Super Mario with you again in eternity.

This was literally my childhood. I played this game every day after school and every weekend. I still have it and my SNES and the world with 98 stars lol
00's kid here, can I just say God Freaking Bless Nintendo for releasing some of best 2d platformers ever made on the wii, because otherwise I never would have looked twice at this awesome game, and now its up there with my favourites! So much momentum, freedom, creativity and secrecy crammed into this tiny, hard as hell 16-bit platformer, it makes me smile just to watch it :) Though I'd be lying if I said that every music track having the same melody didn't get on my nerves after a while.
My childhood right here, I would remember this was my getaway because we would always move from place to place when I was growing up but thanks for uploading this. So much nostalgia...🙂

I loved the shit out of this game , I would always select "2 players" and make Mario run out of lives to play as Luigi. I also loved how each level was unique. My favorite thing about this game was the colours, unlike Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, where that artistic touch was minimal.

Playing these games, I have so many memories of my childhood. I do get nostalgic. A quick side note. I wonder if anyone else from the 90's finds it shocking that his game was released in 1990! We didnt have much money and there was no intenret to tell me about it. But I think I was still playing nintendo in 1990!!! This Mario was far better than the older marios I loved this the best of those old Mario's . I still havent beaten Mario 2. But when the N64 came out with the great graphics. And the wii Mario's as well... it was like bringing Mario to real life and in my young dreams I never thought I would see graphics like that so I would have to say I like the new Mario's better. As someone who grew up playing NES And SNES. The coming of those next gen systems made me never look back to the old nes. The quality is like night and day. I see these young kids talking about how they love the classic zelda for NES. But back then I really didnt care much for it, it was kinda boring and complicated. I still had the tv series and all the stuff. But when the n64 came out, thats when zelda became a "godly game" and turned into the phenom that it is. And I think many people will agree. I think most older people are content to play with their ps4 and switchs and xbox 1 and leave the lovey dovey classic nes stuff to the young ones.I do like that kids these days are hyped up over classic nintendo it totally rocks. Kind of like classic movies. I think maybe I played snes and nes for so long that the new systems are just way to attractive and appealing to me. The graphics, the stories. Dude when mine broke for the super Nintendo I was devastated but infill my lovely mom bought it again. She is a Mario lover but her favorite is the third. I was 5 and 6 when I played this we found all the secret levels too. Thank you for making this so I could go back to my childhood and watch this intill I get that game again. THANK YOU!!! Our old house which I played this at is being wrecked I'm so tramtized because of that. A Christmas when I use to believe in Santa I got poop rocks and sticks lol!!!! But thanks.
I had to watch it till the end.. most epic mario game ever! But my god my eyes hurts seeing you play it! Respect for no deaths! But the ways you lose your cape and yoshi... still a thumbs up because it's mario.

The best super Mario ever!! Nothing can beat this even there's a 3d Mario game nothing can beat the excitements brought by this game when I was still 7 years old
I like how you played a lot, because you actually played it rather than being scared of it! I saw someone else's WT that played all of the levels, but skipped over everything possible within the levels in the process, too. They basically made a super fun game not fun by doing so. I can beat everything on the game, but I would not play like that and cringed at their style of play. I mean, it is not exactly betting something valuable that you can beat the game without getting out once; it's just playing the game and this game is super fun when you play all of the levels like a champ !
To be sure a mushroom for each row, next time use your cape and gently twirl it on the side of each box for the bonus round to open the 1UP's/free guys at 11:28 & 36:18 Just make sure not to jump too high, otherwise you'll go up to the next row 🙂
