I’m glad you you enjoyed the Menthol soap and aftershave :) Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the blades. Maybe try them with a razor you are familiar with to compare? Also, are you starting to get a back log of products to use? For myself, I probably wouldn’t need to buy anything new for a couple years lol Where is the fun in not trying new products? :)

Both the Astra SP and the Polsilver both are great blades. I'm not sure if the Polsilver blades are from Russia or the Czheck republic.

I get nicks on setting 1 . But almost none on 3 for some reason. (Even though it feels more agressive on 3). So keeping it on 3 now.

Oh yeah I just recently went crazy and got some menthol crystals and I've been on a mentholating tear. On my order summary from amazon it was listed as "raw and uncut," which made me chuckle for some reason. And yeah, it looks just like meth. Good luck with your amateur chemistry!

I just ordered some of the cryogen and used it 3 times and it definitely makes my eyes water like crazy lol learned it’s great to mix with your other favorite shave soaps and creams. I mix it with my proraso to make it extra mentholated. It’s pretty nice. Try mixing with a soap you would like mentholated !

I'm a menth-head also... But I'm not looking for a support group, I think we need to get together to get our fix more reliably! 😂 I love those Astra blades I have a 100 pack. I use them in my Merkur 23c which is my everyday go-to shaver. Much more mild and smooth and pleasant than the Futur has a reputation for being apparently. Personally I love the 23c not only because it's a lot more mild but also because long handle on it has pretty good knurling so that grip is never an issue. plus it's a three piece so I can take it apart and clean it off and let it dry overnight after I've used it that evening.

Hello sir. Have you tried the other chiseled face shaving soaps? If you have them, can you do a review on any of the other ones? Some of them are really well reviewed. There is one called ghost town barber that is apparently really good.

I bought a pack of maybe 20 different blades. So far the Astras were my favorite. I put them aside for now to save them. I’m also keeping Feathers for last.

Definitely, order some menthol crystals. You can put them in most of your products...in witch hazel, in your shave creams, aftershave balms etc...you get the idea. Cheap on eBay.

Got some Polish (blood) from my father‘s side ☺️ Stirling have some crazy menthol soaps, their ‚Wintergreen‘ is like an anesthesia to the face 😶. Your videos are always entertaining 👍

great shave, as always man i can´t use the DE for everyday shaves only cartridge razor i did try the Gillette skinguard and the Gillette guard both only 2 blade with a space between blades og one bladed Bic useful as well i did try DE everyday being extra careful no go :( need 3-4 days growth

Russia/Poland for Polsilver from my understanding. Polsilver are my favourite and probably one of the sharpest and smoothest blades out there, but also one of the pricier blades. Astra SP are very sharp but I cut myself too easily with them.

You've inspired me! I am going to give those Super Mentholated products a try... As for setting settings on the Mekur; be wary of advice. The variables of blade, beard type, skin sensitivity, degree of slipperiness of the soap, face ,or lack of, preshave prep and even the shaver's level of skill all come into play. Experiment with lower and upper until you find the "sweet point" as it applies to you; is what I suggest you consider going forward. ;-)

I got a gold Futur for Christmas. Almost sliced my finger off the first time I did a blade change. That razor is so damn aggressive. It scares me, man... I usually just keep it on the lowest setting.

So in the event something truly catastrophic happens while you're using your Futur/Gort on too high of a setting, the razor can bring you back to life, but only temporarily...

Did you know that the two side of Futur are actually different? the other one was shorter, maybe that side can give better result under the nose.

A bit off-topic... Why would I get razor burn with Feather blades but not Astra SP? Isn't Feather blades supposed to be sharper = less irritation?
