Tool-Assisted Speed run by GaRan A hack by P. Yoshi More info go to metroidconstruction.com Thank you for watching! And please support me in my further TASes :)
This is starting to become a really good archive of all the "good" Metroid hacks out there. I'm particularly surprised by the amount of effort that went into this one. Question: Why are there still no hacks with custom sound effects?
Music engine has been fully documented so there is really no technical reason not to do that. But it's not as straightforward as adding new level design or new graphics and maybe requires more effort that it's worth usually. I mean, in most hacks, vanilla sound effects are perfectly fine. Making a full conversion rom hack entails an absurd amount of work, believe me. Nearly 10 years in, and I am barely scratching the finish line.
@@MetaquariusI know exactly what project your referring too. I follow your blog and all I can say man is take your time. Everyone who follows you is immensely excited for it and I'll wait another 10 years if it means getting a perfect product at the end. I look forward to it!
I love this hack so much, and this tas is insanely good. Thank you for showcasing just how fast this game can be done, I hope more and more people stumble onto this gem of an SM hack
Another amazing TAS GaRan! I had a feeling (ever since knowing about it) that you'd dip into Deep Purple quick to get the stuff there. It was fun to see the usage of the Sparksuit everywhere.
@@garan1988Not that I am aware of, which is why I'm requesting a 100% TAS, to know an optimal route. I've tried to get 100% items, but miss several items, and cannot recall which ones I missed, because there is no full map for each difficulty; the one included on MetConst lists all rooms and items, regardless of difficulty. I really want Danidub/Nordub to make a map for the game, but he ran into the same issue. There's just too many items.
This was definitely one I was waiting for. Well done. Can't wait to see even more TAS' being made. Any chance on making MZM hack TAS' or only SM hacks?
What version of the hack was this done on? A lot of the items seems to be in completely different places or the maps have different layouts than what I just played.
TAS is an actual category in speed running. It's meant to show what is possible in the games. All the stuff that happens a person can pull off as well with enough practice at it.
