I just witnessed your magnum opus! Marvelous TAS the entire way through. 11/10 would watch again and again! I hope you submit this to TASVideos as more people need to witness this amazing work of art. What's next? The only romhack I think could top this or come close would be Ascent. Thank you for continuing to entertain us! ^_^
It's ridiculous to raise the obstacles to great heights and then equip yourself with artfully created skills such as the hi jump wall, let's not talk about the morphing ball, we're not there, so it's modifying the game to measure of the same that modifies it, too easy
Ahhhh, Nintendo. You invented a genre, abandoned it for a decade, and turned every Nintendo fan boy/girls favorite character into an FPS with weak development. Then started pumping out awful games with bad stories and REALLY limited fields of view Thank god for AM2R! Hope the community starts working on ASMR next. :D
Watching this tas is absolutely awesome! Some incredible things pulled off here! Bravo! I would be remiss if I didn't mention one thing that I couldn't stop from focusing on throughout this whole run though... This is the most convoluted, and excessively expansive map design that I have ever seen in an SM hack. So much so that it doesn't even look fun. That said, this tas was amazing!
Imagine spending days coding things like an anti-OOB kill switch that can trigger in normal play just to make your hack's sequence unbreakable, then watching this TAS casually damage boost to supers and powers before the 15 minute mark
@@garan1988 Hay GaRan, I am not usually one to come to the internet for help, but, the part where you have to activate the 5 switches to get Screw attack, whenever I am able to get all 5 of them in time, all that happens is an Earth/Zebes quake and the poll will not open... Do you have any ideas/thoughts as to why this is happening?
@@jordanphilipperris You must bomb them exactly in their order, bomb each one and count the time, the longest will be the 1st to bomb, and the shortest is the last one (if you don't get their order, you can't open the door even if you make them all lighted)
amazing tas. big fan of this and all your other tases. do you by chance post your input files anywhere? i'd like to archive and probably encode them in case this channel ever goes down like hoandizi's. i'd really appreciate it!
*Samus exploring Zebes, and other bosses killed.* Kraid: (snoring) *Self-destruct alarm begins after death of Mother Brain.* Kraid: "Finally, time for action!" 😁 Space Pirate trooper: It's all over, sir! The Hunter has destroyed all of our defence system!" Kraid: "Everybody, get to your ships, and leave the planet!" 😨 SPt: "Sir, we don't have any ships; and even if we had, she would've destroyed them as well! We're all gonna die!!" 😩 Kraid: "..." 😐 Kraid: "Why did I ever join you pirates, again?" 😟 *Zebes destroyed.*
I have no interest in doing speedruns or in speedrunning on general (which is odd, given I do like Metroid a lot), but damn, this is a smooth and impressive run! A good amount of SM rom hack speedruns are downright impressive, and yours is no exception.
I got so confused cause i never saw the ricochet from the shots until charge beam, was that always a thing in this redesign? Neat concept actually, could make really precise shots more of a challenge.
It was fun re-watching this TAS. While I still have misgivings about the design philosophy of the hack, it still had some really impressive bells and whistles and overall polish that hacks should take note of. One question I had was if you would consider doing a TAS of the Power Bomb challenge that was built into this hack, similar to how you did the 2nd Quest for Subversion? I'm curious as to whether the enforced path dictated by the PB challenge changes much in the grand scheme of things when it comes to routing the TAS compared to normal any%.
Thanks for watching 😊 oh I haven’t thought about PB challenge, since it allows you to have PB very soon, which I also can get it soon as well via trick! But I think I will take the challenge in the any% TAS later!
oh because this game was 4:3 resolution, but the encode was 16:9, that was why it had a black screen ^^ (if I made the game to 16:9 screen, Samus and everything would be fat :)
The graphics of this mod heavily remind me of something... I think... that there was a Metroid 2 remake project that used Super's engine but had improved graphics like these. I really think I recall seeing that. Was this what became of it?
Keep up the awesome work GaRan! These videos are awesome. So many TASers just make the TAS and that's it, no presentatiom. You my friend, you make great RU-vid videos, not just TAS.
@@TheBanishedWind yeah he did run a 100% but that TAS was old! The new tricks Moonfall and Super-Jump will be applied in the new run, make the route changed!
Did you play the final version of Axiel, or a less recent one? I've found that the final version is a lot more open than previous ones, with several RTA viable sequence breaks and a ton of exploration.
@@CaptRiskyBoots Yeah, it wasn't made known that much. I didn't even know about it until I played the hack myself. I had super low expectations going in since I had only watched ShyGuyExpress' playthrough of it, which was on a really old version. I absolutely loved the hack when I played it and it's now my #3 favorite hack.
Didn't watch it. I don't watch none of his shit. Just saying this is not playing the gane. And no. Not 1 of 100 billion people can do this. Not possible with or without save states. Do you even see what is played? No. Not possible.
