@@carnage0685 a remaster in that art form would be awesome. Though if they did a remaster, i would hope it is like Metroid Zero Mission that greatly extended the game, added a more abilities and areas, and was only an inspired remaster instead of 1 for 1
This is SO solid!!!! I always loved the intro to Super Metroid. You really felt the anticipation in the music. You've captured it perfectly here! Great job!
This is very cool! the intro sounds amazing now, its arangement is very good. That being said, Kraid's boss theme always gave me a big Godzilla vibe and that's been completely lost in this version, it sounds more like a Dark Souls song.
I am glad you like it, I like the Kraid song but I can respect a different opinion. You can always switch out a theme you do not like, I even have a tutorial on how to create your own music in pcm format with loops.
here a link to the tutorial, the tutorial also happens to show super Metroid as the example of how to patch and play. I also have about 40 other games with new music if you are interested in looking. Enjoy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mZCci2s6I9E.html
@@jud6ment thanks! I will do that. I really love your versions of this ost. It was already perfect but you added a lot of great atmosphere to this already great game. Usually when I see vids like this I skip them cuz they’re disappointing but yours is really good
I take like a full minute and a half off so i can add on a 30 second detour. That is having your cake and eating it too. Also, you ALWAYS save the animals, i cant leave anyone watching wondering if i saved the animals or not
@@jud6ment All the songs are in the same key and hit the right notes with the right timing. Often overlooked when people do MSU's and have soundtracks that took far too much Liberty with the source material. I guarantee you that's why so many people are responding so well to your music pack. You've got a talent for it. What's your next project?
@@CaptnYestrday have you seen Zelda or Metroid randomizers before? Or both combined for a crossover randomizers? They are very popular and repayable and people often play them with me music, so i am making 3 new soundtracks for randomizers for both link to the past and super Metroid
So here is an example of a randomizer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X3qqyn2CVEE.htmlfeature=shared But i often feel like the random music people put in them are not good quality or match for that part of the game. So i am making new randomizer soundtracks (6 total) for Zelda or Super Metroid randomizers.
I would love to play a super metroid remake with the art style of the thumbnail. And not with just the new soundtrack but new and improved sound effects as well.
I completely agree. That would be awesome. It would be cool if the team of Dread took the same game engine to redo Super Metroid as a download now title, like they did with Metroid Prime on Switch. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
The coding is Darkshock with some coding editing by Conn and Cubear. I converted the music files with looping points. But if you look at music artist credit there is about a dozen musicians listed that made music. So in the end, a lot of people contributed to this.
In the description, at the bottom, i credit every music artist. You can find the majority of them here on RU-vid. I am not sure if GMB Soundteam has all their super metroid covers up though. However, you can make a playlist of all the original artist's music
Hey man, love your arrangements! Only things I'd say is imo the electric guitar melody didn't really fit the timbre of green brinstar (maybe just the effects on it, a less jarring sounding e guitar maybe?), and the mb boss theme sounded a little too soft for my ears. I always loved how the original was so intense on the higher notes. Apart from those two things, amazing job!
Nice i always used ure old Version for my Randomiers. Now stop all other Projects and do an Hardstyle MSU-1 Hack for SM Lol Thanks for Updating. Like i said i always used ure Tracks for my Randomizer runs and zeldix was kinda dead with new msu-1 for SM
It may be compatible to use both patches at the same time, you can give it a try. Good news, i am doing two seperate pcm sets dedicated to Zelda randomizer, Metroid Randomizer, and the Zelda x Metroid Randomizer. I am also going to be setting up a dedicated forum for randomizers in msu-1 on zeldix. I estimate the end of march or first week of april it will all be up.
@@Cloud-dk4vz so i made 10 new pcm packs for randomizers recently, for link to past, super Metroid, and for crossovers of the two. I only got a few previews up but they are all available on zeldix
I will say its very impressive. Not quite to my taste, I think its a little too bombastic for super metroid personally. But a great achievement nontheless. Well done :)
@@_FimbulWinters if you want something a little more subtle try Jammin Sam Miller version. Thank you for the compliment, my style is strong orchestrations, and i respect anyone's opinion that disagrees with my choice as i know it isn't for everyone.
Played a few Randomizers now with the updated Version and i just came back to tell this is just awesome. One Question: There is an youtuber called Luminist. He has some awesome remixes of SM Tracks. Any way to make PCMs out of it? Is it even allowed?
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e5zy19LN9pw.htmlfeature=shared I also have a second part too. I have heard you want to find an older version of Audacity and Foosbar as some newer versions are not compatible with some of these tools.
Can this be used to patch the music in other rom hacks, like Redesign, etc.? Or is it specifically Super Metroid? Would a regular SNES be able to handle something like this (I doubt it)?
If you have sd2snes cartridge, yes it can run on original hardware. I believe redesign does indeed work. As long as the hack doesn't change things up too much they are almost always compatible.
FXPAK Pro is the Cartridge called now which you need for the original SNES to make it work but i promise you its worth it. Playing a SM Rando on youre TV with Original Hardware but a nice big TV and a nice soundsystem is better as sex lol
Hi there, does the patch work on snes9xgx? I downloaded the patch, and read the README, but no mention of this emulator. (I tried patching and then just sticking the file and PCM files in the ROMS folder, but it didn't work.)
Yes it does, as long as it is a version that was updated within the last 5 years. When you patch the rom, you need a .msu file and everything named in a particular way, let me send you my 5 minute tutorial that will show you
Here it is. Try to use a computer emulator first to test if it is working right before transferring to the wii, it will save you some time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mZCci2s6I9E.htmlfeature=shared
@@DualThreat1 Glad to hear. Just a fair warning, there is a few MSU-1 games that do not sound right when on snes9xgx for whatever reason. Two of them I know about are Terranigma and UN Squadron. Just thought I would let you know if you try other games and one does not work out, but I do know Super Metroid works fine on Wii.
@@KevinLopez-hf6uk Super Metroid, like how the title says. It is modified with a rom hack that upgrades the music to whatever song i choose, so i choose to have good remixes from various RU-vid artists that have remixed the songs.
I am not giving out roms, sorry, that is illegal. A quick search on the web will help you find one though. Google search "no intro snes roms" and you will quickly find what you desire. As for patching the rom, look into the description of this video. You will find a link for the patch and a link for a 5 minute tutorial on how to patch the rom.
Sorry, i originally said i dont give out patches, i meant roms (it is edited now to say so, but wanted to make sure i wasnt misleading from error of mine). I do give out patches, but the rom is easy to find if you search "no intro snes roms"
