the ending of the fight was saddening yet a sense of relief. Amy is freed and finally gets to rest, and John can be relieved of his guilt through Amy's assurance.
I'm not particularly religious at all, but this game is very powerful. When John finally exorcises Amy and finishes his prayer with "Amen," while standing there covered in blood, it brings tears to my eyes. Such a moving moment.
Likewise, it's definitely a powerful ending that has stuck with me. Similar to Underground in that regard, happy endings are forgettable, but this was bitter sweet.
When you realize that John is just your average human against a demon without any super powers but his Strong faith alone in front of a demon is such a great feat. Defeating one without using violence and with just pure faith is pretty badass tbh.
this ending always hits me hard. john finally seeing amy as her true self and immediately telling her he’s so sorry for what happened to her and condemning her. and she tells him its ok. its over. her soul can finally be at rest. he can redeem himself and set her free. and she is. and all thats left is her poor skeleton. cried
I remember doing this fight and freaking out because i didnt expect to not get hit at all. Then he takes a hit. And another. And so one. And that made me feel powerful loll
“Deus qui non patietur vos temptari super id quod potestis sed faciet cum temptatione etiam proventum ut possitis sustinere.” God knows John’s true limits and will help him because this is beyond what is physically possible for him to bear, because “Si habueritis fidem sicut granum sinapis, dicetis monti huic: Transi hinc illuc, et transibit, et nihil impossibile erit vobis.” John has renewed his faith.
5:44 The chosen woman below all 5:46 Together the Moon and the Cup and the Bird 5:51 Together the Mother and the Daughter and the Unclean Spirit 5:58 MY PROFANE TRINITY. 7:04 in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Well when they performed the second death on her she died, so she was pretty much a zombie at that point. That's the reason she turns into skeletal remains instantly when John exorcises her at the end
Horror in media is more effective if it let's you take a breather between scares. The creator is going for scaring you rather than keeping you in a state of anxiety
@@mr.m.t.j.m6003 if you're curious about the translation its [from latin]: "Amy… My Amy… The Chosen Woman Below All, together the Moon and the Cup and the Bird, Together, Mother and Daughter and the Unclean Spirit, MY PROFANE TRINITY."
it's not that hard actually! you just need to stay alive and not kill the boss for like, 4 minutes I think? then it triggers the cutscene. you're 100% safe during it and its like a breather
This is what happens when you remind Satanists that the upside down cross is actually St Peter's because he didn't feel worthy to die like Jesus did Edit: 4:30 "Relax, it's only half time"
@@orvilleredenpiller338 I don't think you know what objective means. I played the game because I heard people say it was creepy but it did not scare or unsettle me once whatsoever. I was looking forward to being creeped out but was just kind of bored out of my mind the entire time.
-the vibe is off because no ones used to 8 bit style horror games. -its very quiet, which makes everyone unconformable if they're playing a game to be entertained. -the idea of loneliness and isolation is prevalent throughout, its like one man fighting against the world -the actual jump scares are really jarring because you've been looking at a top down screen with a few pixels of a man slowly walking to each destination, only to get jump scared by a fully rotoscoped and highly detailed demon/dude whos out to get you, it takes you back for sure.
@@jacob.1820it's hitting themes all over the place. The fact that we're in this spiritual battle with ourselves everyday and so on. It's not "OH SHIT!" horror. More like a "ooooh. Well shit.." type of dread
