This was the generation when (for me personally), graphics started to look really good and colourful. Growing up in the 80s, graphics were blocky and basic until the 16bit era came along. Some of these sprite games still look good and have aged well.

Holy crap The Final Conflict looks so cool and I've never heard of it before. Gonna add this to a must play list. Love to see Knights of the Round on this list! That's one of those forgotten games. Finally, a game that I actually own! Star Fox! Haha, this entire video has been games that I'm adding to buy, but thankfully I have Star Fox already. I need to beat it though! Super Mario World is one I'm very well versed in. Super fun game. Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball is one of my wife's all-time favorite games. She played it so much growing up. Awesome video buddy!

Loved the video. Street fighter 2 turbo, Starwing, Batman Returns, Cybernator, Mario Kart are the games that i loved back on the Super Nintendo. I know there main stream games but they were brilliant games. I still play them today by emulator and on the mini. I sold my Snes collection years ago.....😢 Regret it to this day.

Can you imagine if AI existed back in the 1990's? I think the gameplay would have been more challenging, more fun, more realistic, unlike randomization or patterns that you learn to pass.
Great one Rob! The first two games especially the Shinobi clone looked great, and that cute Ikari Warriors does Gauntlet Japanese shooter looked fun. Never seen them before so will be going back for a second look! I really enjoyed SNES in the early days but soon got fedup with every other game using the same instruments in the music, and if it wasn't that it was bad samples from a budget Yamaha FM keyboard lol. So yeah, for me Prince of Persia, Super Ghouls'n Ghosts, Smash TV, Contra, F- Zero, Top Gear Racer & Dungeon Master are some of my favs. If you want to slow things down just release one video a week, or whenever your ready. Don't pressure your self thinking you must deliver, nah we are lucky to have something to watch, search your feelings - you know it to be true! 😉👍
I definitely agree with that, the later days got a tad annoying lol. Yeah that was Hagane and Pocky and Rocky, but you definitely listed some strong titles there!!! I’ll def be doing a part 2 at some point, and I’ve been working on vids so they’ll be running during the summer! There’s no pressure, but I get what you’re saying and I appreciate it! Good list! Despite a distinct lack of F-Zero 😌 That Rock n Roll racing game is really good. I normally don't like isometric/top-down racers but that one does it for me for some reason.
Yeah same, I was a Sega Fanboy lol….i love the SNES though, don’t get me wrong and these are some of my favorites but I don’t know that I have just “A” favorite 🤷🏼♂️

The SNES is so great--look at how amazing these games STILL look! Hagane--coming out swinging!! The Strike series, they were everywhere! Knights of the Round is incredible; glad to see it here. While SMW is my favorite Mario game of all time, as a kid, it DID get old after a while so I used to turn my TV upside down to play through levels. ha ha
@@retrobeliever True story! In fact, there are moments in Super Mario Odyssey where it has you play 2D segments upside down and I literally paused, looked to Lady Laci and said, "Nice try Nintendo; I already trained for this!" lol
Great job on this video Rob! I always like the Super Mario All-Stars plus world cart on SNES Because Luigi has a unique sprite set in that particular version of the game that you can’t find anywhere else. I always wanted to play that knight of the round game. I still have the original SNES I bought with my own money when I was a kid back in the 90s. Keep up the excellent work, my friend and don’t work too hard. I don’t blame you for wanting to take a little break , some days I think it’s just too nice out to be making videos ( but I wish the temperatures would cool down a bit).

I was part of the half of the neighborhood kids that had Sega. The other half had SNES. I’ve never owned Super Mario World but can 100% it in a weekend by memory even today. That’s how much exposure I got back in the day. Porky Pig looks ok, but it seems underwhelming compared to the Tiny Toons game on the SNES. That game is a beautiful, polished platformer with a good challenge. Hagane looks like a prettier, faster Shinobi. Really love the style and fluidity from what I saw here. But it raised a question: Why do so many games LOVE airships/gunships, specifically ones that hover close enough to the ground that a jumping hero can attack it? If I had a gunship, I would be attacking from AT LEAST several stories high, not parking at street level. Will check out your Corgscon video when I get a chance!
Tiny Toons is a much better game but I felt a lot of people don’t know about Porky lol, and I think Airships/Gunships are appealing until put into use, you’d think other bad guys would learn from failed bad guys 🤔 And thanks for watching this my friend, no rush on the CORGS one….just another con vid lol

These are some good picks for the snes. I never played the Indiana Jones, porky pig or hagane. I saw a Japanese version of hagane on ebay recently. I recently got a copy of rock and roll racing for cheap. It's a good racing game with a good soundtrack. Knights of the round is another one I own which I have a Japanese version of. Starfox and super Mario world are also favorites of mine. My original snes doesn't work anymore but I'm playing the games nowadays on the analogue super nt. Probably the best way outside of using an original snes to play

I never had a SNES. I had friends that did and played often on their system. My absolute favourites were Super Mario World (though I was terrible at it), The Lost Vikings, Street Fighter II, Another World and Killer Instinct. And sorry, sir, the best baseball game was Base Wars on NES. 😁

Super Mario World was the first game I ever played hehe! It was at my friends house and I was 7 years old, I was very bad at the game haha. I have only briefly owned a SNES, about a year ago but didn't really play it, so I sold it. I don't really have nostalgia for the console so I guess that's why, also I much prefer playing the games on the Nintendo Switch Online service, where there are save states and rewinds XD. Speaking of, I played and beat The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the first time two weeks ago, I enjoyed it immensely ❤. Originally I just turned it on to do a mission for platinum points for Switch Online and then turn it off again and forget it, but I decided I would at least do the opening and before I knew it I was hooked hehe. I used a guide to do a 100% run because I wanted to get the most out of it and I just don't have the patience to figure things out in games from that era, and I did get the most from it! Ahh I get that, yeah the SNES was out during High School well towards the end for me and since my best friend had it first I have some attachment to it. I initially wanted the SNES for Christmas that year because of my friend and playing it with him but by that point the N64 had been out for a bit and my parents got me that instead! lol trying to convince them at first though was an uphill battle, but thankfully they said yes eventually XD. Yah Switch is great! defs in my top too! I just wish that the selection of retro games to play the online with was way bigger you know?. Aww, always ❤ and I appreciate you too 😊

@@retrobeliever I would definitely like to see more games in general. It's definitely an era that I missed out on, even though I had an N64, I had barely any games for it and the ones I had were all the mainstream ones, no hidden gems or variety to be honest (not that there is anything wrong with popular games haha). I don't really have a clue what I missed, that's why I like videos like these and the ones you have been making! ❤. But yeah, I think the Switch Online games are great but there is a definite lack of them, a lot of popular ones for sure, not all of them, and compared to the complete libraries of these consoles there is barely anything!! I have no idea how hard it is for Nintendo to put these old games on there, I am sure licensing is an issue, though I have a feeling they are just kinda half-assing it! maybe I am being a bit critical..
great vid for my fav console. Agree w all of them, except I'm not familiar with that first game. Loved the Strike Series and RnR Racing. My son and I still play it. FYI, Rock N Roll Racing is free (or was) on Rockstar's website, minus the awesome music.

@@retrobeliever Yeah, its definitely worth it on Switch IMO, especially since the toys are optional. They toys work better than expected, so I'd recommend at least getting the starter kit so you have a super cool Arwing :)
I still really despise that SNES version of Mario: admittedly, the creative team were in a difficult position _not disappointing the audience_ with expectations so high… but it is neither innovative enough _nor_ "conservative" enough, in my opinion -and if you think my standards are too high, keep in mind, I really admire what they managed to do with the B&W Game Boy game!
