@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I actually such a sniff before I bought it. I was worried about that myself. But wore it Fri nite and fell in love . Got another one that just says Avon spicy aftershave on the box. Awesome as well
My brothers favourite scent. I'm on team Drakkar Noir and he's on team Wild Country. He always buys the deodorant and the perfume. He's really into the old west style and this frag with its name and style is one of his favourites 🤠
Wild Country was my first fragrance. I still have a bottle in my collection, and it still performs. I used to have a couple of different aunt's that sold Avon back in the day, so I got a lot of the different decanters for birthdays, Christmas, etc. I wish I still had them. Now, as far as your question, I wish they would bring back the Rive Gauche. I used to have the version in the metal can and I miss it.
My best friend from highschool like I mentioned in the video his mother sold for Avon and that’s how he and I were introduced to wild country lol. Rive gauche is great, one of The best barbershop scents ever
I enjoy your reviews of these old school cheap frags. I've recently discovered a very barbershop-smelling roll-on oil (attar) that has the Pinaud Clubman vibe, but lasts for hours. It's called Habibi, by the house of Nabil. It's very cheap, so pretty much a no-risk purchase from Al Rashad.
Rive gauche for sure! This series is great. But... that nice classical piano music needs swapped out for some bluegrass based on that thumbnail 😆 😆. Nice! Channel continues to entertain
Definitely Tsar. Also this is a pretty good topic for current times I think. That old time map hanging you have in the background is very interesting and cool looking.
I’d go Tsar as well, as much as I love rive gauche Tsar is just the green machine I love it. I enjoy the maps of old empires like Ancient Rome as decor in my house
Actually heard “Redolessence” mention this one awhile back when he was doing a barbershop frag video .I Wore it to bed the first night I got it and was shocked when I woke up and it was still there!! lol.Very much a baby powder bomb and so worth the cheap price. Better version of Canoe ..Love the idea for this series!!
I used to spend obscene money trying to keep up with the Jones’s on fragrances. Then I found Wild Country. It’s all I wear now it’s a one and done spray for me.
I am currently on the adventure of finding my four and done cologne collection. Right now I have 15 colognes that I’ve been narrowing down from about 25 that I’ve tried out. And right now my top three ARAMIS, Paul, Sebastian, and Stetson. For nightwear/relaxing in the evening, I wear, Avon, mesmerize, and Alfred sung Homme. And for the weekend I wear Giorgio Beverly Hills pour homme, and TABAC. There are a few more that I have not listed. But they’re probably once I’m going to cut.
I used to buy the roll on deodorant from some dollar store near me. I used to like how it smelled. I don't remember it well, but I remember it being a good alternative to Brut's deodorant, which performs horribly. I was disappointed when I didn't see it at the store anymore. I'd pick Rive Gauche 👍
I haven't had this stuff since the early '90's but I just bought a bottle today from a local Avon rep and all I can say is whoa.....it's pleasant smelling as I remember but I'm still getting wiffs of it off my skin over 7 hours later! Incredible for such a dirt cheap cologne!
Thank you for this review. I've always wondered about this one. This and Estee Lauder Pleasures for men. Both affordable scents that I'm just not sure about. I got my full bottle of Furyo and I'm loving it!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Where is it $10? The edt is $22 and the aftershave is $13 on the Avon site: www.avon.com/category/men/wild-country The Fragrantica reviews section compares this to Dana's Canoe and original Clubman aftershave as you did. Canoe and Clubman are very close. I have both and the current Canoe isn't as strong as the original. There's really not much of a musk smell to Canoe or Clubman.
Hi - certainly enjoyed your video! There are some good fragrances from days-gone-by for sure. You reviewed "Taxi" by Cofinluxe and some Lomani fragrances before plus Bourjois "Masculin" so I'm looking forward to your next episodes of the series 👍☺️
Cool idea on the series. I think this is a pass for me as i just have to many frags to work a wild country into my rotation. But i have to give you props for turning me onto wall street by victor. I wore it today for the first time and i was pleasantly surprised. Its like a chanel no 5 meets hugo boss number 1 without the tobacco or honey of number 1. I am really digging wall street and got a banging deal at 33 bucks for 50 ml brand new. Keep finding us those gems! My request for a fragrence to be brought back that is discontinued would be Guerlain Derby. That is a proper leather cyphre and unfortunately very hard to come by now a days. Thats one you would love as its super masculine with lots of spices and a beautiful leather base. -Ramsey
Yo Wall Street is soo good right ? And 33$ for a 50ml is a great deal ! I’m glad You enjoy that scent and the videos thank you for watching and commenting Ramsey!
I would bring back Rive Gauche. My love of Fine American Blend shave soap and aftershave led to my wife buying me a sample of Rive Gauche Pour Homme from mcbag 2 years ago. I was able to get 3 vintage cans and 2 La Collection bottles just after YSL discontinued it and before the prices went crazy. The discontinuation also led me to explore other similar traditional masculine fragrances.
Had an Avon Sportcar and Pistol decanters. The pistol grip comes off and the juice in in the barrel. Loved to look through the monthly Avon catalog at the decanters when I was a kid.
Tsar, after watching countless video reviews on both fragrances - I just know that Tsar would smell better on me. But this Wild Country definitely sounds like the best choice for me overall, as I absolutely adore Stetson. This sounds similar to Stetson but awesomely fresh.
It’s a lot like stetson but not as sweet and I think is better when it comes to the talcum powder musk combo, it’s not as heavy as stetson. I think tsar as well mainly because it’s more rare I think
Just picked up Lomani Pour Homme, thanks to your recommendation. I’m loving that shave foam barber shop smell, especially after my shaves. I’ll choose Rive Gauche, as a nod to you shaving foam scent fiends.
Lomani pour Homme is so good, that’s easily an episode on this series Idc if I reviewed it already a while back haha lol thank you for watching and commenting dude
I have the aftershave in a slightly diferent bottle presentation, but i agree, its nothing too refined, dont expect a mdci invasion barbare or a penhaligon's sartorial. Its a barbershop top to bottom, talc powdery, musky scent using cheap ingredients. Does the job. Not sure if the fragrance is better than the aftershave but i see myself wearing the fragrance as a "dumb barbershop reach". I heard Canoe by Dana have the same vibe aswell, but that one i never tried.
Hahaha I remember wild country! Like in the 90s the Avon lady used to give my mom samples of stuff or she used to get the catalog with the sample pull tab scent in it.
Rive Gauche! But yeah, I was actually looking into Wild Country like 2 years back, along with Destination Grand Canyon, Wilderness and Premiere Luxe Oud. Never ended up getting any of them, but it's always fun to look into some of the older brands, even if they're super cheap. There's a new one from Avon called Absolute by Elite Gentlemen that's apparently pretty good.
Wouldn’t get many scents from Avon at all but this one was nostalgic for me and I think smells great. Some of the other scents they have I don’t think are good enough for me to get so wild country is my Avon scent
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey No, I have not, recently. I remember trying out back in the 90’s…..Hey KC, Why is Tsar, ‘now’ so Freakin' expensive? I like the notes but I’m not ready to pull the trigger for Tsar at $300 bucks. What about you? Do you think it’s worth it?
Great memories with those decanter bottles, Rive Guache is on my radar , is it worth $300 bottle? I have AB and I like it but wish it lasted longer , thx for another great video
300 no way lol if you have an opportunity to buy it for around 100-130$ I’d say yes but 300 no way. The body line they had for it like the body wash was so good. Thank you for watching and commenting dude
Between Rive Gauche & Tsar, definitely Rive Gauche for me. I already own the vintage cylinder spray but if you could compare with the new bottle, the square one, whether it’s far from original or not..etc that would be great! (If you also have to old one to compare, of course) Now, the Wild Country, that is totally “wild” with a sarcasm, 🤣 I kept smiling when you were showing all of the presentations. They are absolutely hideous and cheap, they all reminded me of those dollar store fragrances that are made in China or something. 😂😂 But that is a surprise for me as well you were saying the fragrance itself is not bad. Wow! 😯 But I would probably pass those.... By the way, there are other cheap options from many Middle Eastern/Arabic fragrance companies which I started to buy recently from online and are you interested to review those ones? Many of them are some clones of designers or/and niche fragrances but a lot of them are surprisingly very good quality. Maybe you know some of them? I usually buy them from FragranceBuy. ca or PerfumeOnline . ca (they are Canadian companies but excellent service to the USA 🇺🇸 as well!) And they have quite a few selections for M.E. or Arabic fragrances, FYI. You might like some of them as they are very potent and presentations are unique as well. (And many come with gold as they also like gold colours ✨🖤💫)
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Hahaha...yes, I do have that one but sadly now at the very last bottom part of the barrel...😢 I had it since the early 2000’s. I still enjoy it but I’m afraid to use it because that would be it once I’m done! 😱🤣 (but I’ve got another 200 bottles of different fragrances that I need to use before either I or them get too old!! 😂)
I’m sure you’ll like wild country, it’s simple but still great. I don’t own Terre D’hermes but I’ve worn it a few times, it’s always been the edt so I would go with that. That generation always had edt anyway. Sometimes, not always, edp’s I don’t think are that much different or better
Talcum powder is a huge note in this one, if that’s not a scent you like then Wild country is a dud for sure lol I happen to love that scent. Thank you for watching and commenting as always Dan!
MY MOM SELLING AVON IZ HOW I GOTT IN 2 FRAGZ/I REMEMBER WILD COUNTRY/BLACK SUEDE/THAY HADD ONE CALLED CLINT THAT I REALLY LIKED/U TOOK ME DOWN MEMORY LANE/SOLID HOMES
Haha that’s how I was introduced too, my friend who i mentioned in the video his mother sold Avon lol I never tried black sued, how is it ? thank you for watching and commenting dude!
I have a 6 or 8 ounce decanter of this shaped like a bull. Its from the 80s or maybe even 70s somehow not spoiled. Better than the newer version. Stetson basically copied this just as Tea Rose copied Roses Roses by Avon. Soft yet masculine. I also have Avon leather which is basically a more nuclear version of English Leather and i have Tribute and Tai Winds and a few more of the Avons. I got them for a buck each at good will a couple years ago.
Great series idea! Please keep it going for longer 😂 it's perfect for a cheapskate like me😂 my candidates for the next episodes are: Agua Brava, Jovan Musk, Jovan Sex Appeal😎
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey we both do Kelan, we share the same taste as a matter of fact, that's why I love your channel so much, you own so many fragrances that I'd love to add to my collection, and so many others I already have. Congratulations and keep this passion on, 'cause I really love your discoverys and reviews.
After about 12 or 13 sprays it became my favorite cologne, Get a nice shave, splash some Pinaud Clubman on your skin, then spray yourself down with this soft stuff called Avon wild country and thank me later 💪
bro I love the scent but not last. can you tell me another similar fragrance smell like it ... awesome if you tell me another like English leather fragrance. 90s fragrance when I was a kid. was the best I smelled
