I always saw super rescue as the episode that could have been a sequel to henry and the elephant in the tv series. Considering henry in season 4 was kind of a running gag it would have been nice to see him get a story like this.
Some of the music choices in here are a little strange imo, but on the whole, very nice job with making this TVS-esque. Hoovy knocked it out of the park with his narration!
Especially the two diesel not being called by their number which had me thinking that their placeholder name would be "Class 46" and "Class 35" like Class 40 if they had their nameboard section.
@@RoseSupreme Possibly. We may never know. Either the crew will give their nameboard; "Class 46" and "Class 35" like the Bowled out Diesel "Class 40" as a place holder or they would give their numbers; "D199" and "D7101" or just nickname; "Spamcan" and "Bear".
You've made an excellent job with this one my friend. It feels legitimate in every detail, and the fact you went to the trouble of applying the story to an exact 4.5-minute time-frame as per the originals was the icing on the cake. The narration is indeed impeccable, and I think the frustrated signalman and 199 are especially nailed in this take. Congratulations. Regards, Samuel Farris.
This is how Britt Allcroft would have turned this story into an episode of Thomas and Friends. I think it could have been a great episode for either season 3 or season 4.
@@whoknows1990 yeah but in the Railway series Oliver’s Rescue comes after Super Rescue. The goods that Douglas takes to other Railway where he discovers Oliver was originally meant for Spamcam.
@@bigmacsama yep. Because it doesn't happened or exist in TV series adaptions and writers didn't make a plan to adapted to TV series from the books and I think "Super Rescue" having budgeting issues because they didn't have enough money to making "Super Rescue" in Season 3 or 4 TV series for real.
They should've cancelled Mind That Bike and Special Attraction, The Budget of Tom Tippers post van and Bulstrode goes to Bear, D261 gets repainted to D199 and now it's a Season 4 classic!
Well,if "Super Rescue" could be existing in season 4 in actual TV series,Britt Allcroft should make characters like Bear and Spamcam D199 like Bowler in series 4 and able to adapted. But instead, they've scrapped from "Super Rescue" into whole season 4 episodes in 26 episodes and that was ashamed when "Super Rescue" weren't in TV series.
Nice job! For the most part, the dialogue seems just like how the writers would've tweaked it to make it understandable for kids! Seeing my favourite RWS story get this pretty believable TVS-style adaptation was an absolute joy. :) I'm actually in the middle of writing a Season 6-styled loose adaptation of it after feeling inspired by Faulty Whistles which was a loose adaptation of Mike's Whistle. If I ever complete it and maybe even adapt it, I hope you enjoy it! And of course I'll allow others to adapt it, too.😄
@@Cassmo46 In some ways, I can see it. But I'm not entirely convinced. And there are no diesels involved. Granted, being a loose adaptation, it doesn't have to follow *all* the rules of the original story. But I wanted to do something that uses BoCo's prop and gives Derek a moment to shine (no, he's not the one who does the rescue).
the whole point is that this is a TVS adaptation, and Flying Scotsman in the model series was a one-off that only had tenders built, never a fully working model, so Edward was used instead here
0:15 It feels more like it's mean diesels like Diesel 199 who spoil the Steamies image because they are party poopers when they are around the steam engines are much better because they are proper engines and work hard
@@rmgilyard Not as much as Paxton or any other friendly diesel does. Because diesels like D199 only brake down blocking the line doing nothing but moaning for their fitter. The steamies on the other hand keep going on one cylinder because they care about their trains.
Like Phillip said, it's TV Series style. Made with what could've happened regarding the budget David Mitton and the crew had if they were adapting the episode. Some narration tweaks, characters in places they originally weren't, etc.
