I forgot to mention that the reason Baby-Vegeta couldn't do SS4 is because of Baby's cells preventing it. I said it in older videos, but i wanted to reiterate it here. I'll be covering this in the Baby-Vegeta Guide, which is coming soon

SSJ4 is the best looking transformation in the series. I love the small changes and the feral look that it gives Goku.

I think a lot of people actually like SSJ4 because of how much more serious Goku is, along with his lack of control and willingness to kill an enemy.

Super Saiyan 4 is the best thing about GT.

I like seeing all the different transformations as different branches: 1. SSJ: Base --> SSJ --> SSJ2 --> SSJ3 2. God: Base --> SSJ God --> SSJ Blue 3. Ozzaru: Base --> Ozzaru --> Golden Ozaru --> SSJ4

Why ppl like SSJ4 -ties in withe Oozaru / Golden Oozaru transformation -it is not just about the length of hair like in Z, or hair colour like in S. New whole appearance and abilities -it looks, at least to me, culturally japanese (kabuki) rather than western, hence more authentic Solid work G101 👍🏾

I always head canon'd it as SS4 reverts you back to when you were in your prime (I remember them saying Vegeta looked younger when he was in SS4 too).

I honestly always felt that ssj4 was the more natural course that the evolutions should of taken. I guess cause I like the idea of the tail growing back and then taking on more of the Ape characteristics. Love the videos. Long time viewer. Take care geekdom

In my opinion Vegeta's means of attaining SSJ4 wasn't cheating. It's similar to how the saiyans created artificial moons to transform into their Oozaru forms while attacking other planets. I think both are pretty innovative honestly.

Y'all don't know how much I wanted this to be Super Saiyan God back in the day. It just makes sense for a Super Saiyan God to be in his true primal Saiyan form.

Super Saiyan 4 actually brings the user back to their prime. Which is why Goku was returned to an adult and why Vegeta's hair went back to his DBZ Style.

Can't forget about Goku's magical wristbands changing from pink to blue when he goes SS4, that was always so distracting to me as a kid lol. Love the form though

I would love the idea of SS4 being a permanent mutation. It always felt silly to me, seeing Goku revert to and from ss4. I doubt we'll ever see this stuff outside of things like Heroes...

Geekdom101, you do make a good point about Vegeta "cheating" to get super saiyan 4, but that's only because Vegeta didn't have his tail. We both know that if Vegeta had his tail, he would have achieved super saiyan 4 on his own.

I love the first super Saiyan transformation because of how iconic Super Saiyan was for the first time. And also Super Saiyan 2 but my most favourite will have to be Super Saiyan 4 due to the look and design. It makes them look more unique and more connected to the Saiyan ape roots adding both sides to one form. Powerful and really cool 💪😎☺️👍

I like it even more now because of how distinct it remains. DB has mostly forgotten about Saiyans having tails and turning into giant apes period. While this form embraced that part of their heritage. And especially after Super, I'm just appreciating a form that feels different. It looks like a legitimate transformation GT may have had issues (everything post DBZ has issues), but this form isn't one of them. And I'm glad that GT just ran with this form instead of trying to force a SSJ5 onto us. This was a pinnacle form and it just made sure to let it stand on its own.

Not sure if Heroes has done this, but a Ultra Instinct Omen SSJ4 would be freaking amazing to see

4:50 it wasn’t really cheating. Goku just had a rare occurrence where all the right environmental factors for the blutz waves were present and vegeta simply had bulma synthesize it. Vegeta if anything would have had an easier time achieving it since he was always in full control of his great ape form. :)

I love the lore behind Super Saiyan 4. The design is influenced by the Monkey King from Journey to the West, which Dragon ball is based on. So in a way, Dragon ball comes full circle near the end of GT with Goku becoming the apex of the saiyans, aka the Monkey King.

I always thought that Super Saiyan 4 transformed the user physically to the pinnacle power of a sayian to his or her's prime and that's how Goku turned into an adult again. Just like saiyans can be in there prime for years before they age. So the prime goku was what the transformation brought him to.

Ever since I first watched GT way back in the day, I've always been of the mind that SSJ4 isn't actually a "true" Super Saiyan form. Not in the traditional sense of 1, 2, and 3. Though SSJ3, arguably, taps into the same part of a saiyan's physiology that is utilized in the SSJ4 transformation. Instead, SSJ4 is much more akin to a secondary oozaru transformation. I mean, it requires a Saiyan *capable* of transforming into a Super Saiyan while in Oozaru form ,they must be able to retain their mental faculties while in that form, and it additionally needs a much higher input of Blutz waves. Blutz waves are *only* used to trigger the Oozaru transformation. Therefore, the SSJ4 transformation acts not on the saiyans' S-cells, which are responsible for the Super Saiyan transformation, but instead on the cells related to their oozaru transformation. This was just my running theory, and I've not done the in-depth research required to know the *exact* canon functionality of SSJ4 from any sources outside of the GT anime.

Probably my favourite thing to come out of GT aside from the concept of the Shadow Dragons. I'm even more appreciative of Super Saiyan 4's design after the palette swap transformations proliferating in Super. It's complete fanon but I like to think that where regular Super Saiyan draws power from anger and Super Saiyan Blue puts its user in a state of calm, Super Saiyan 4 derives its power from the ape instinct of the Great Ape form, a mental state that best channels the current potential of the transformed Saiyan when properly controlled.

I always liked to think that Super Saiyan 4 is actually not a Super Saiyan form (because of how different it looks) and its name was just made up by Goku and friends to simplify everything.

What i really love about SSJ4 is the level of details on it, every user have slight alteration on the fur, eyes and hair color based on their each genetic traits.

Super Saiyan 4 is so badass, but the magical pants was a little weird.

I remember reading about ssj4 back in highschool on the internet, and getting fed all of these myths and misconceptions about the form. Although I never watched GT, I still remember being in love with how it looked, and in my opinion, it is the best looking transformation in all of Dragon Ball.

I’ve never been a GT or SS4 guy, but there’s no denying that the story behind it, both in universe and behind the scenes is very interesting. It was pretty cool when Toriyama sketched SS4 Goku for the Dragon Box.

I love ssj4, the design and idea is amazing. I feel that if they made it canon, this should have been the final power, a saiyan could achieve, naturally.

6:45 Well from direct quotes in the show, SSj4 was never at full power since he got it. Pan stated that he was fighting baby so long that he was worm out. Maybe thats why they list full power ssj4 as a new form

Super Saiyan 4 does have one weakness - the tail. If someone removes it, they possibly lose access to the form.

Vegeta only needed the machine to transform into a REGULAR Oozaru. Vegeta did the rest. If Vegeta had his tail, he would’ve used the power ball technique to transform into a REGULAR Oozaru and the end result would have been the same, so really it doesn’t matter.

Yeah I agree that comparing super Vegito to Super Saiyan 4 Goku in GT is ridiculous super Vegito in Dragon Ball Z wouldn't even touch Super Saiyan 4 in GT Goku at Super Saiyan 4 back in Dragon Ball Z when Gohan buu was around conflict this fingers and killed Majin Buu remembering how many years had passed between the end of Majin Buu the GT Goku's base power would have been even stronger than super vegeto in GT even saiyan scholar went into details that even pan in GT could have one shot Super Vegito and as far as Dragon Ball super I will never consider it true Original Dragon Ball continuity to me I think of it as being in different timeline and does not fit into the timelines of Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball Dragon Ball GT which to me GT will always be canon in my book even though other fans would probably argue straight up and down with me on that fact that's for me I was kind of annoyed in GT Heaven Goku reverted back to a kid but overall Goku maintain his intelligence and did not lose his intelligence like he did in super or seem like everything was so Hollow and disrespectful of the characters of past and for me Super Saiyan 4 will always be Goku strongest form appreciate the video in the info

Can you make a video of how toriyama f’d up everything? Dragon ball used to be about martial arts, every blow meant something. Now they all shoot ki blasts at each other that deal no damage. There is no blood, no real sense of danger. The music isnt as epic as it used to be, the stories are so cliche and predictable.. the power scaling is honestly horrible in db super too. The other universe’s saiyans got bs transformations that completely threw away everything goku and vegeta went through. Honestly i can go on forever and it pains me that my favorite anime became like that. I wish they just reboot it

I really hope they re-introduce SSj4 into Super at some point. Maybe combine it with God-ki, or even combine it with MUI (AKA pay an homage to the fan-made SSj5, what with the silver fur/hair).

I love the fact that GT doesn't spam transformations which makes it sooooooo boring. Also, they BOTH cheated, Vegeta didn't cheated alone, Goku did too. Goku needed the Kais (Gods) to help him without Goku discovering it himself and same goes with Vegeta except the help came from tech. So Gods vs Tech

I won't lie, I like the Ultra Instinct state, but Super Saiyan 4 will always be the Pinnacle of Saiyan Power, to me and certainly more dependable than UI.

SSJ4 has always been to me the greatest transformation in the Dragon Ball universe even though I still believe that it should not be called SSJ4 just mainly it seems more like a fusion of the two main transformations of the Saiyans and its its own entity. I think this transformation should be called Primal Saiyan 🐵🐒🦍

I like that Nakatsuru had the balls to completely redesign what the typical SSJ transformation looks like and it worked! It's my personal favorite Super Saiyan transformation. Only good thing that came out of GT.

Gogeta red hair were explained: the were red to make him more different than Goku because his hairstyle was almost the same.

Maybe instead of that quote implying that Buu Saga SSJ Vegetto scales to GT SSJ4 Goku, it’s saying that the multiplier for SSJ4 is roughly equal to or greater than the Potara multiplier + SSJ (x50) or SSJ2 (x100)?

I always thought at the time that SSJ4 was the most complete and controlled form of SSJ, maybe even the true form of SSJ.

The reason I love this Transformation is because it feels like a True Final Form (the endgame of Saiyan Power).

I feel like this form deserves a comeback. It was a very good concept by Nakatsuru and could be incorporated into the Dragon Ball Super anime.

I have always wished ssj4 had stayed golden, maybe with red eyes. Just feels more like a super saiyan to me and make sense becouse it’s a condensed golden great ape Either that or ALL RED, no black hair. Closer to ssj4 Gogeta. Red appears as a more powerful color but the black hair turns it off for me. Ssj4 was still my favorite tho ❤️💪🤘

I think SSJ 4 is by far the coolest transformation, it looks awesome and I love the idea for first needing to turn into a Golden great ape.

The reason why I think Goku turns back into an adult when he goes SS4 is that the form is so powerful that it overrides the magic of the wish that turned him into a kid. Similarly to how having more power forces a fused being out of fusion at a faster rate (though that never made sense to me because, if they're that powerful, can't they use that power to force themselves to stay fused longer?).
