Her father is well known to be one of the most wealthiest men in America. He decides to buy her a little shop in Charlestown Massachusetts, to give her a purpose and to help restore her health. However, he has one condition, that she not tell anyone who she is or who her father is. And for the first time in her life...Maida makes wonderful new friends because they think she is just an ordinary girl. So lights out! All I saw was the pic of the the pink building and that the story was almost 2 hours long. So as I got nestled in, and I heard you say Maida, I am mediately got a huge smile, and had to look at the title. My Mother who passed away years ago was named, Naida!! Although it’s not the same, it sure does sound like it. I’m still smiling. What a treat! ❤❤❤

I still can't believe Maida Little Shop was written in 1909 😀 For this quality storytelling; it's beyond impressive. It still sucks that no one can know who she is, tho. Hopefully, the success of the shop doesn't go to her father's head. Also, the guided relaxation at the beginning was really needed today as things were crazy for my family, but thankfully, my grandma is ok. Your voice is the ultimate safe space nurturing Joanne. You know you’ve ruined me for listening to any other stories - I just can’t listen to anybody else reading at bed time as no matter the story, they’re just not you ☺️ … But I did find a lovely lullaby album on Apple Music which is beautiful; it’s apparently for children but they clearly don’t know the secret of listening to lullaby’s and gentle story telling for those of us who still have the heart of a child 💞💓💞 I forgive you for being so wonderful at what you do that I can’t listen to anybody else reading stories at bed time 🥰
