Sakurai needs/needed to realize that in game cutscenes are no longer a gameplay reward for players in the industry anymore. Because of the internet, and video game's cutscenes are going to be placed online, and this is something I'm very surprised he did not anticipate when making Brawl. Incorporating the CGI cutscenes into the trailers for the game was pretty nice, but I'm still upset they he decided not to make a storyline anyway. In fact, making a full movie would have been even better.

The amount of thought the developers put into this game is really mind-blowing. It's thinking like that that's kept Nintendo at the head of the video game industry for so long. They put attention into every detail.

There is a HUGE difference with resizing Ridley and resizing Bowser/Ganondorf You can change the Size of Bowser/Ganondorf as much as you like and they'll still feel the same. Resizing Ridley would change Ridley a lot.

3:16 Sakurai never wanted Ridley in Smash to begin with. So basically Sakurai finally gave us Ridley in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so we'd shut up. And the reason why that they planned to put Corrin from the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates game is because around the time that the game came out in Japan that the franchise is celebrating it's 25th anniversary and all 6 characters represent each game throughout the time from the original to Fates(Marth to Corrin).

Did you know that the Wii U version suffered significant downgrades thanks to it having to be similar to the 3DS version for absolutely no reason? Yeah, me too. Me too. Apparently, despite already having a Sm4sh of their own, 3DS fans raged that the Wii U version would be too superior, so Sakurai decided to balance the two versions in terms of roster, content and features. This would cause the most rage. Long story short, the Wii U was unable to boost most of its power beyond graphics, so fan favorites such as the Ice Climbers had to be cut, despite *_having been successfully tested on the Wii U version of the game_* and most 3DS fans I talked to agreed that they would not have missed the Ice Climbers at all. Ladies and gentlemen, pray that this series is exclusive to consoles again starting with the Nintendo NX, or that the next handheld is higher than Vita standards. Otherwise, this series may never get too far in terms of unique characters, content and other such things if both versions must be balanced for no legitimate factors benefiting the game at all whatsoever. Also, I am not an ungrateful fan. I love the Wii U entry a lot and think it still plays great, but I personally think that nobody would miss any characters, given the 3DS has so many already. That way, Nintendo has to make you buy both versions of the game, as you get fun exclusives on both versions. The 3DS could get a really cool handheld character, well the Wii U gets an awesome console character; similar to the exclusive stages. Sakurai still shaped a fantastic fighter, and I know of his weaknesses that made it hard for him, but I am just criticizing his approach on the two games and pulling a Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate by limiting the console version for no good reason. Given it is one character, it should not be that big of a fuss. But, I am also thinking of the future where they are in the development room, thinking "this character could do this and that" and the reminder going "wait, guys, the 3DS can not do that" and then everybody sighs in depression as Shantae must be written out due to her shapeshifting. But, when you think about it more, even one character is significant in the universe of Super Smash Bros. Take Snake, for example.

This game is so strange. It's one of those games that's hard to turn on (I never want to play it until I turn on the Wii U) but then when I DO turn it on, I end up playing it for like 16 hours!

Honestly, I couldn't care less for Subspace. Sure, the cutscenes were nice but the over-all gameplay was just... eh. On the other hand, I miss the bosses from Subspace. I was actually hoping some sort of "Boss Fight mode" would've been available and not just have bosses be stage hazards. At least Master Core was a pretty kick-ass boss until you realize his fairly easy attack patterns. (Except for Master Beast. Screw you, Master Beast.)

For 8P smash on SSBM they'd have to release an adapter where you would plug it into the 4 controller ports,which would have 2 ports on them.

I don't care how rational their argument is, I want my giant cyborg space dragon! Seriously though, I get where they're coming from, really, I do, but Ridley is just about the coolest damn thing Nintendo has ever come up with. And I want to play as him. So much. That's all there is to the Ridley outcry. Smash Bros is about a mashup of all of the Nintendo greats. So when the antagonist of one of their best franchises is excluded, it's just not going to sit well with some people. Having Best Friend Ridley fight with me on the metroid stage just isn't the same.

If we could have a "best of" in terms of mechanics, or possibly a game that changes between the four, would be GREAT.

Technically, they did shrink Bowser. I mean, look at his appearances in other Mario games! He's MASSIVE! Even when he isn't turned into a giant, he is still at least 16ft tall.

There is so much love, blood, sweat and tears put into every iteration of Smash Bros....they are literally love letters to fans of Nintendo. Every release is an event, and you know you're going to get so much value and play out of every edition. My sons and I can even still waste some time with the N64 original...and it's still quality. It blows my mind that in this day and age of shovel out the franchises and sequels every year without care for bugs, glitches, or, y'know, actual gameplay improvements, that there's still a designer and design studio who care enough to craft their very best and will work until it's done, not until an arbitrary profit-driven yearly deadline mandates they release it in time for the holidays. Thank you for the video. Even though I knew most of this, it's still great.

Before Smash 4 hit, I don't think I ever had a preference for announcer voices or even acknowledged the announcer that much to begin with. But Xander HAS to be my favorite out of all of them, just off of sheer charisma and his genuine love of Smash. Never stop being awesome, mister _SUPER AWESOME VOICEOVER MAN ! !_ edit: Also, as a competitive Smash player, finding out about the "no Johns" thing IN SSB4 was hilarious to me. They really made a bad choice not adding another single player adventure to the newest editions. Subspace Emissary was Brawl's bread and butter for me personally, but I guess most people just play it as a party game or competitively.
