Todays fun is with ammo from a company called Liberty Ammunition. Civil Defense is some of the hottest defense ammo I have ever shot in a video and I had an absolute blast filming this one. If there's anything you would like to see me shoot with the Civil Defense then let me know in the comment section and ill try to make it happen. I love you guys and I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Alaskan Ballistics Channel chrono'd the Liberty 60gr Civil Defense out of a Glock 20 with a 6.5" KKM barrel and got over 2,600FPS out of it! That's literally short barreled AR speed with a 60gr bullet. Insane

@@JohnB-dr8sk 11.5" ARs typically spit out 55gr around 2900 fps. 10.5" is usually around 2650. 7.5" spits out around 1850, so this glock would be better than a 7.5" AR in 5.56, hands down.

@@phil2082 Go to Alaskan Ballstics Channel and see it for yourself. And no, 11.5" ARs do not hit 2900FPS with a factory 55gr. There are plenty of chrono tests on RU-vid which prove this.

@JohnB-dr8sk Год назад
@@phil2082 On a sidenote, the Liberty 10mm out of a 6.5" KKM barrel does better than the longer AR barrel because the Liberty burns its powder faster and more efficiently. 5.56 uses powders made for rifle length barrels, which need that extra space to build up pressure. It's just reloading 101.

No other handgun ammo does this unless it is over 1900 fps. The internal bleeding and damage is so much greater than the slow ammo It’s insane. It's much like reports from civilian contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan, who were not subject to the military's ban on anything but Full Metal Jacket ammunition. They reported almost universal one-shot kills with 5.56x45 rounds using anything from soft-points to V-Max. The terrorists complained about it, so the politicians tried to put a stop to it (I'm not sure what came about there). IED's by the enemy are fine, but bullets capable of stopping that enemy is forbidden. It makes you wonder just whose side they're on!

I've been carrying these since day one of carrying. I researched for several weeks before making the purchase and as yours, mine, and others results have shown, these are no gimmick. The most important lesson I learned from these: don't believe what you read on Reddit or any other forum. Research for yourself rather than taking the word of someone whose probably never seen a box of them in person, much less fired one through a chrono or into a block.

ive been using this ammo for almost 8 years, i love it. Less recoil so the wife likes it. Plus it weighs noticeably less when loaded in the gun and fragments so over penetration for a self protection makes it a great carry round. and it defeats level 3 body armor and lots of bullet proof glass.

Yes and no. Frangible ammo is designed to turn into a cloud of coarse dust when it hits a hard surface. I.e. if a sky marshal uses it inside an airliner, it is not supposed to penetrate the fuselage. I was always told to use 147 grain for defense, bigger bullet = more knock down. I used Hornady XTP 147 grain but that was under 1000 fps ... If you are looking for a dedicated AP round in 9mm, look into the "Dagny Dagger" project from Atlas arms. It is entirely civi legal and will absolutely cut right through soft armor reliably. It may even cut through hardened layered kevlar plates and high density poly plates. I won't post a link since YT seems to be really funny about links now and would most likely hide this comment. I have also hunted with federal hst and other jhp and they perform nothing like these rounds, the energy simply tears a massive hole thru bone and other organs. I don’t carry anything but these. @1:00 The "Ultra-Light" line is actually slightly different. It uses the same bullets as the Civil Defense, but with a new type of hybrid case that improves strength and reduces weight. The Ultra-Light cases come from Shell Shock Technologies. The pistol cases use an aluminum base/rim, while the rifle cases use stainless steel, and the case walls are made of a nickel alloy instead of brass. They say this provides a lot of benefits, and I can believe it. From an engineering standpoint, it seems way superior to standard brass.

I have a .22 cal pellet rifle. I tried a alloy pellet. It was putting them out at 1,200 fps but beyond 30 ft they was all over the place. So I dropped back down to a lead pellet. The speed dropped to about 900 fps but was hitting within 1" at 60 yards and blowing through 5/8" plywood. So speed alone isn't necessarily a good thing.

Great video and impressive! If you want to follow FBI protocol's, you need to put 4 layer's of heavy denim on the front of the gel block. I don't wear 4 layer's of denim even in the winter time, but other people do. Also if you want to see another ballistic test, watch Gun Sam Revolver aficionado. He's got it down to a science. I've been watching him for year's, tell him I sent you. That 223 round would be perfect for hunting coyote's.

This is a personal defense round; not for an explosive paper punch or bear stopper. I would say bare clear ballistic is a scientific wild ass guess [SWAG] The swag factor is from my observation that 15-21" in clear ballistic is almost comparable to 12-18" of FBI pig gel at 39 degrees with a heavy clothing simulation. Fragmenting ammo is not challenged the same as clothing does to jacketed hollow point.. Personally, I'd rather have a .729 caliber 400 grain steel ball moving at 671 fps, but that is not legal from a handgun.

Funny thing is that we know it penetrates level3 vests we see the Damage we see the energy and yet some how it’s a gimmick 🤔 that’s how we know 99 % of people on the forum’s haven’t shot shit but paper targets at best. And yet NO one would stand in front of this gimmick ammo😂💯

I have a level 3 plate that I’ll shoot with this in my next video and a level 3a plate and I’ll bet that it won’t penetrate…I use it to shoot raccoons with and it works great but honestly I’d prefer a federal HST…I don’t think I called this ammo a gimmick and no I don’t think that because ammo is a gimmick doesn’t mean I’ll be like here fuckn shoot me with it lol, I believe with everything in me the tumble upon impact ammo is a gimmick but I still wouldn’t get shot by it cause it could still kill you if something vital was hit

Each has their uses. For the woods I use solid heavy rounds that crash through heavy bone and keeps on truckin. For populated areas a light round that energy dumps with low downrange risk on exit.

Whisper tactical I am a new subscriber. First of all awesome vid editing everything I loved everything about it. Which is why I subscribed. If you liked the 55gr 223. Try to find some 35gr ntx bullets made by Hornady this is my home defense round for my 12.5 inch. I have taken hogs and multiple pest with this round. The devastation this little 35gr does in the hog was mind blowing to me at least. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Probably because it "captures" some of the gasses that would propel the bullet out of the barrel. It might be mitigated with the added barrel length though idk

I carry the Liberty civil defense 50 grain 9 mm in my 92FS and in my canik TP9SF. I was sold quite some time ago when I saw this fella in a RU-vid video take a level 3A vest and throw it over the door of a truck. It went through the vest and the truck door and the back of the vest and ended up getting lodged in the other truck door. But just for shits and grins... I chose to watch a ballistics gelatin test as well. And the 9 mm 50 grain variant of this stuff blows apart into several beautiful little fragments and just opens up like a star as the back of the bullet continues going through for a little while.

I like the idea of these, not only the faster bullet speed, but I did the math and with 124 grain x 15 I am saving 3 ounces in total carry weight on P365x, the only thing I dont like is that I cant really practice with these rounds at the price they are.
