So I translated all of Gouki's intro and ending. Intro: I am the master of the fist. Know how powerless you are! Ending: (GC means Gouki clone) G: Who are you? GC: I am your shadow. Those who gaze upon their own shadow will die...you are finished! G: Ha! I have always lived in darkness. I'll never fear death...insolent fool! ...and once more, the man disappeared into the darkness. Many still wonder who he is.
Sheng Long was a made up name for well over 3 decades. Capcom can't even come up with a valid reason why they used that name in Ryu's winning quote. The recent Street Fighter movie basically clarified that Gouken is Ryu and Ken's Master and Gouken is the brother of Akuma. Sheng Long Does not Exist in the Street Fighter world.
@@WilliamPetersen01 The internet is a wonderful place. No matter how obvious a joke, someone will always come to give a serious answer. Also, it’s been stated several times that Sheng Long was a translation error that carried over to the US. Sheng Long roughly means dragon fist in Chinese. That is why the SNES console version is fixed and says “you must defeat my dragon punch to stand a chance.”
Ahh the Gouki/Akuma code. I remember doing this back in the day at my local arcade, and then getting a HUGE crowd around the SSF2T machine lol. & i once I decided to tell people how to do the code, they STILL couldn't do it!
Nice! I really liked the Dhalsim match, the Cammy match, the Balrog match, and the Vega match. The Akuma vs Akuma match was great too, especially at the end. Try this: D+LK, D+LK, UF+LK, air HP
@malik18om Gouki: "Who are you?" CPU: "I am your shadow. Those who become possessed by their shadow will die. You're finished!" Gouki: Hah! I have always lived in darkness. I don't fear death either...fool! *shoryuken* ...The man then returned to the darkness, leaving many questions unanswered.
lol, you sure make quite an impression with these videos man. Im well aware of the program you use for it, but im sure few would be able to do it like this..Keep it up...:)
@thesnake383 I've always wondered this myself. In the US English version, there is no storyline. It's just strait cut out. If anyone has a translation made, I'd like to know what he's saying.
@stretchypants123 So what part of 'Gouki TAS' do you miss? TAS = TOOL ASSISTED SPEEDRUN I know Gouki is selectable in this, by hovering over certain characters for certain amounts of time, or something to that effect.
Well, Street Fighter is a japanese game. This version I am using is the japanese one. Play any japanese version of street fighter and you will see the names, these are the correct names =P If you are still confused, take a look at my street fighter zero 3 videos and you will see that the names are: m.bison = boxer, vega = dictator and balrog for the spanish dude. About switching the names, you are correct. BUT they switched the original names from the japanese version on the english version.
@IAMPIZZAPASTA Just to shed some additional light on it. The Japanese version of Street Fighter the boxer is named M. Bison. They changed it when SF came over to the U.S. because they didn't want people to think that was supposed to be a guy who resembled the actual boxer Mike Tyson.
@IAMPIZZAPASTA The names were changed for the English language version for legal reasons, M.Bison for Balrog is meant to be a play on "Mike Tyson" for example, but Capcom didn't want legal problems over the in the US & Europe, so they changed some of the names around.
@IAMPIZZAPASTA They changed the names in the American version. Balrog was originally M. Bison, which stood for Mike Bison. Mike Tyson got word of it, and due to legal pressure they had to change the names around.
The reason why they changed they names is mainly cause of M.Bison (Balrog). Cause the boxers name is M.Bison, which sounds similar to Mike Tison, and so CAPCOM didn't want to get sued, so they had to change the names around.
@jamaynex Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Street Fighter II X - one an game. Differences in regional title - first in U.S.A, second - in Japan.
@leandroff5sfz3 Yes, originally the boxer was named M. Bison (mike bison = mike tyson) but in an effort to avoid any legal infrigement on Mike Tyson they rotated the names for the English version, with Sagat being the only boss character to keep his real name. If you look at A photo of Mike Tyson in the early nineties and the games head to head screen image of "balrog" you can see a distinct likeness between the two.
@IAMPIZZAPASTA The reason why they did that was to avoid a lawsuit regarding Mike Tyson because it's obviously based off that name. Basically the same thing for Fei Long as an avatar of Bruce Lee as well. But obviously we don't see his name as "Lee" either.
I still don't understand how you can use TAS on a fighting game. Is the AI that predicable? Or does it use a bunch of IF statements? "If AI jumps and is Dhalsim, then do this..." ?
There's no prediction, the game is paused and save stated every frame to ensure no mistakes are made. If the CPU does something he doesn't want, he rewinds and uses it against them
@rileyvace No it's not. Go look at his other video called Street Fighter Alpha 2 Tool-assisted speedrun. That is a Tool-assisted speedrun because he unlocked Shin-Akuma with it. Gouki in this game is a selectable character even though he is a hidden one.
I can do the raging demon using Gouki in Street Fighter 2 Delux but can't do this with Gouki in Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Is this a common problem or is there a way you can perform the raging demon in Street Fighter 2 Turbo, since this is Gouki's debut release?
H0LDENSUX as far ask I remember the raging demon wasn't an executable move in ST. It was just the animation at the start destroying bison. Newer versions used this move but I'm not sure which version was first to use it as a standard move.
Arcade version had no executable demon. Dreamcast version did have it able to perform after you unlocked it. Forget how exactly.. Not sure about other versions
