Super Tenere Lift - can I do it? 

Good to hear, I was beginning to think I was the only one who knew about it. Glad you got going again. I dropped my Super Tenere in the woods on the last camping trip and same thing, only Tkacs got me upright again. Glad I had done some practicing.

Good point, I've got a suspicion that I won't be able to budge the thing easily with it lying flat. Statics101 and cos(theta) gets involved I'm sure. Next time I'm brave enough I'll give it a try.

Have a buddy with you

Jesse luggage. Expensive I think but they seem very sturdy. Off-roaders will be concerned about the hard case and risk to injury if a foot get under them in a fall. They have angled edges which may (or may not help.)

Sargent is the brand. The previous owner installed it. The seat seems hard at first but is strangely comfortable on long rides.

I had a GS and changed it for a new S10 back in 2014, partly because the GS was constantly having problems and there were many final drive failures. S10 is totally reliable. Longest I have ever owned a bike and have been riding since 1978

Love the Super Tenere so far. Just did a cross country trip, almost 4000 miles and the bike was flawless. Comfort level was good, if I kept riding segments to less then 2 hours. Usually needed fuel by then anyway. Final day of the trip was 930 miles in 13 1/2 hours. Not sure if I could have done that as comfortably on my FJR1300.

I'm 5' 11", 180 cm.

@@SwampGeezer I’m 5’10” does Super 10 fit me? My legs are not so long

@@segipak I believe you could ride the Super Tenere. My legs are maybe a little short also, 32" inseam. I can flat foot comfortably. The seat has a high and low setting which could help you in the low position if it felt too tall. The bike has a very stable low center of gravity which makes maneuvering easier.
