Very interesting- not least because this the the first piece of hardware that I’ve heard making the kind of sounds obtainable from the IDS700 app. 52hp notwithstanding, I’ll be getting one of these when they hit the UK.
The cherry would be the 259E TWISTED WAVEFORM GENERATOR I been wanting a euro Version for 10 years ? IDK Anyway .. I’m tempted to do a 2 module boat with MIDI to Buchla converter and the 259e
An atomic drone machine for deep intergalactic time travel in the unknown. Please Gur don't abandon the Buchla line there are many of us that need one. 🎉🎉🎉
@@mubakka2642 why are you trying to argue over something so benign? I've wanted them to do the 296e since the partnership. The only person who cares about whether or not it's "200 Series" is you trying to win an argument.
@@Zinfidel1 No offence but you are literally being ignorant to what the difference between a 200 and 200e & 200h buchla modules and powerboards are. The e and h series modules need each other in order to work effectively. Its a complete system of modules that talk to each other DIGITALLY through its powerboards without patching if you like. The 200 series is fully analogue and cant do any of that. Im pretty sure all you want is the flashing lights of the 292e but dont understand much else about it how it functions within a system. Buchla still manufacture the E system as their flagship current system, I dont think they would want to be sharing that tech with another company
This is really cool. I don't have a plan to buy one yet because I don't have space left with all the other modules. I still wish they would resurrect the MARF though
Verbos Bark Filter, Frap Tools Fumana, and now the Tiptop Buchla 296. All of them with quite similar features, so I guess the difference boils down to what each of them sounds like?
One thing to note is that the Fumana actually has two 16-channel filter banks, one for analysis and one for synthesis. That means that you can do true 16-channel vocoding, whereas with the 296 you have to either send the odd channel envelope outputs to the even channel VCA inputs (for an 8 channel vocoder), or as Gur says, use two 296s to get the full 16 channels.
Also Sputnik Spectral Processor. Cheaper, smaller and has them nice LEDs on the faders. I was going for an all 200t system but given the price (and size) of the 296t, I might add the Sputnik version instead, next to the Sputnik 6 channel mixer I already have (instead of the 207) and save some dough for the future 259t
Please make it 600€ so it’s a bargain compared to Fumana/Bark and cheaper than Sputnik Spectral Processor…which is very tempting with all them LED faders I have to say… So a 259t, 248t…a 291t I guess and it’s a sealed deal. Anything else after that is just a bonus.
@@kaszaniarz doubt it, he said a bargain compared to the alternative which is right below a grand for Fumana and Bark Filter and about 750 for Sputnik Spectral Processor. Unless he meant the original 4U 200 modules where anything is a bargain compared to them!
