This was absolutely stunning to watch! A lot of the cells didn't even look real! At times they looked like moving works of art. I loved every second of it! Thank you.
Just very beautiful... God and his toy's are sooooo gorgeous.. he is giving us a glance at his power of beauty.. imagine what he will show us when we enter his home... I am excited... are you? 🙋
This is the one video I jump out of my seat for every single year. How you cinematically compile, go into detail, and your commentary is as good as it gets. How could I forget your warm & loving personality? Especially when you get involved with the wildlife. Your videos truly have it all. Have a safe 2021 Hank! Sending love & well wishes.
Younger video posters take note!! Notice how Steve here PROFESSIONALLY and CONSIDERATELY didn't BLAST the watchers ears/headphones by attaching screaming, super boosted audio level far into the peaking range (thtats the red part of your VU meters, the part where you not supposed to let it go, something most of you clearly don't seem to understand, including the glaring fact that your music is NOT louder as you mistakenly appear to believe and think is making YOUR videos more badass than your peers, all your doing is increasing the distortion, or in easier to understand terms, your making it sounds SHITTYER!) music? Thats an EXCELLENT build musically for this video Steve, very very well done, and as you see above here, thank you for not blowing up my very expensive headphones and my ears. Having the audio levels reasonable too is very appreciated. I know the majority of posters to YT are hoping to make some $$ so their hoping for the greatest # of hits, but adding the cliche youthful angst 'screaming so hard the veins are bulging on my head, and I'll never be able to sing like this in 5-6 years live ever again' speed/thrash metal puts off more of the public than the handful that embrace or appreciate it. Anyways, thank you, what is the song BTW? Has a Tool ring to it. It's an awesomely paced musical build, one of the best i've ever heard, and the timing is amazing to the video. Good job.
+MoeJoe Gaming Hey Joe, you missed my point. OBVIOYSLY one can turn down their volume at any point, what I was trying to convey was something I'm seeing becoming rarer & rarer, a little common courtesy/consideration. For over a decade I've been using headphones on the net (& when I'm gaming) & never had to adjust the volume except for extremely rare level issues usually caused by simple newbie poster error. But ever since YT started the 'pennies per click' b.s. there's been a shit ton of 'as high volume as I can make it!' videos without one concern or forethought about literally possibly permanently fucking up a fellow human beings hearing. Seriously bro, I don't think I have a leg to stand on if I was saying this watching WWF, IFC, Metal sites, BMX, Motocross, etc., right? But when I click on a video of a sunset, or these stormcells, or a peaceful flowing river & 116 decibel Misuggah comes exploding into my ca besa (that's louder than ground zero next to a 4 engine commercial jet & documented huge % of permanent hearing loss FYI), well, it has a tendency to piss a fellow off. And, it's not funny. I don't get off hurtin strangers unprovoked. Sorry about the long post, I mean WTF, it's therapeutic.
all these flavours and you choose to be salty shut your bitchmouth, if you dont like stuff - move on, nobody cares about your opinion no like srsly - nobody does
I know iv already commented on this vid but spring is coming and so are storms so I watched it yet again and it's so breathtaking how at one end it's extremely violent and at the other , beautiful!! LOVE THIS VID!
The one at 1:36 is absolutely terrifying as is 2:46. 4:04 is unbelievably beautiful. 4:34 looks like someone sanded the outside smooth. Are the edges always so even once the storm is fully formed? Mostly though I want to thank you and thank you. I think I have watched every documentary on tornadoes and how they form, etc., but watching your film taught me more in 5 minutes than all the rest combined. Now I can see and feel the creation and power of these awesome storms.
Absolutely Stunning !!!!!!! I am a drone photographer and this is the most mesmerizing beautiful video and scenery I have ever watched !! Wow ,,, Thank you for sharing
Supercells in Calif. are about one by two blocks in size. Usually we don't even know one has occurred. Storm chasers here just sit around all day drinking and moaning. TV weather people are payed huge incomes just to say "and tomorrow clear skies and 90 degrees" ad infinitum. When they do predict rain, rarely, you'd think it was the end of the world. And then we get two drops and they say "we sure do need the rain" and then when it does rain "let's all hold hands and pray to god this horrible weather ends soon, help us Jesus!".
This has got to be one of the most beautiful and amazing videos I have ever seen. Everything is perfect, the images, the sound, the editing ... I can't stop watching it! Stephen Locke, you are amazing at creating videos. Really.
incredible footage, no words to do this justice! i have looked at a ton of storm videos and without any doubt, this is the best of the best i have ever seen thus far!! wows too numerous to mention!!!
I can' t count how often I saw this masterpiece. A storm speaks for itself, but the choice of Mogwai makes it darker, more brutal and violent. Getting goosebubs every time...
This is one of the, no, it is the most powerfull impressive video i've seen so far. WOW! Great pictures and a song, like made fo the video. Again, WOW!
OMGOMGOMG I am SOOO majorly fascinated with super cell and tornados with absolutely no idea why. I usually just say I must have been a meteorologist in a past life. I usually am not hip on time lapse when it comes to storms cuz the best part is the journey in between the birth and the end of a storm. Also in any life, really. But THIS HERE literally is THE ABSOLUTE VERY BEST I have EVER SEEN. I watched it 3 times back to back and I'm quite sure my mouth is still open. Its absolutely FANTASTIC. 5.01 humbled me almost to tears. VERY WELL DONE !
Super Gamer Dev yes, incredibly. How they form is still largely unknown, and they produce one of weather's most jaw-dropping, monstrous beasts known to mankind, tornadoes. But they are absolutely gorgeous. So much raw power.
Wow...this IS crazy... O.o And as an artist, I find this beautiful as well. The terrifying power found in the forces of nature have always been that which demands respect, that is for sure...
WOW! This is a completely awe inspiring compilation and fabulous choice of music. I watch this and I’m so grateful that I don’t live in a part of the world where these super cells form! At the same time I couldn’t take my eyes off it, Mother Nature is as beautiful in her wrath as in her peace!
With out a shadow of a doubt, the most STUNNING time lapse storm footage i have ever seen!! and I'm a fan who seeks them out, your work stands alone! curious though, how do you play the time lapse, while slowing down the lightning strikes? i would assume that once played as a speeded up time lapse, the bolts would just flicker past in a flash?
I love a supercells, because they looks like an alien motherships. So mother Earth creating alien motherships who are rotating in sky. Anvil is mothership too, it is product by supercell
It is difficult to set aside the death and destruction that these tornado's cause. But, taken in the context of a piece of artform for one of earth's natural phenomena, this film is stupendous, and obviously done with a lot of thought. I sat in admiration of the work that had gone into it. The only type of thing I have seen, was in the Indian Ocean when I saw a huge waterspout being born. That impressed me, but this ....... I am lost for words. But, thanks for teaching me about tornado's. [From the UK]
Brilliantly set up, photographed, and edited. To each his or her own about editing or not. Edited this way made it an emotional powerhouse. Both archival images and art images have distinct values. This is extraordinary. Inspiring, even.
