@@foxxrider250r oh God no I don't work on a farm, I'm a federal trade enforcement agent through the USDA and GIPSA, farmers generally hate us because some will haul shitty grain and get caught by us
@@bom_LS2_gto ah shit my bad I thought your years of summers saved up meant you worked on a farm🤣 glad you're keeping the shitty grain off the streets!
They were redone with that material by a local upholstery. Was very fortunate that they had the material as a perfect match in stock, and quickly became one of my favorite parts of the interior
What compression did you go with for the 427 for boost? I was thinking for my 2004 to just go NA 427 with 11.1 compression, heads and cam or do a lower compression build for boost
Mine is a pretty mild 10.1:1. I was originally shooting for an 11-11.5:1 ratio, but nobody had the pistons I was looking for. Car does just fine with it's current setup on both E and pump 93 due to the conservative timing and mild CR. If you'll be staying N/A, I'd be far more concerned about the cylinder head/camshaft/intake combo than the small efficiency percentage that a higher compression would net you even with E85 or a higher octane fuel imo
Also wouldn't be terribly concerned about boosting an LS with an 11-11.5:1 CR if you'll be running E or have a good ECM setup that's got more safeguards and adjustability than a factory computer ever could. 10/10 would Holley again, especially since your 04 would maintain cruise control
@@bom_LS2_gto appreciate the reply. 10.1:1 isn't bad compression at all and depending how big of a cam you go the dynamic compression will change alot. My N/A 8.1 liter 496 big block has a dynamic compression of 9.1:1 due to the camshaft even though static is 10.5:1. So using 91 octane is easily doable. It's a carburetor engine so no computers there for that build. In my C3 Corvette
Came from Redline Goods! I'd be much more inclined with hindsight to get an authentic HSV wheel to have Gary West out of Australia to retrim it. Much more OEM looking and feeling, still has comfortable bolstering at 3 and 9. Likely something I'll pursue in the coming years if prices don't go absolutely nuts
I obviously needed an alignment, got one, and it's been perfect ever since. Got all the bushings and suspension triangulation done after the 417K install and the rack bushing, been money ever since. Also helps I always bring the one specific alignment guy I go to whatever he wants for lunch, no questions asked whenever he has any car of mine.
