Thanks to my legendary mates for hanging out in the shed and helping me with this build! without them I'd still be scratching my head looking for my 12mm socket! Speak to the team at Harrop about your project today! www.harrop.com.au
Can I hang out. Still trying to work out where the new the shops at. Want call in unannounced. Need a reference for a job I got offered at knights automotive
Hey Woody, reverse the water to air brick so the hoses exit to the rear and run longer lines to the radiator/cooler…looks way cleaner 😉. Awesome work as always!
I have a banga 6L80E trans file for a T43... sorts out all the issues relating to shift flare and dreaded torque downshift around 80km/h with big tyres.
From my experience with a LS1 and Harrop 2300 thermal spacers and some longer fixtures is a nice to have, I've also found a interchiller to be money well spent, my IAT has never been over 35°C since fitting the chiller, the stock coolant reservoir is pretty small as well, so if you don't go q chiller, a larger reservior with a large lid to put in some ice is another nice to have. I do love a blown "LS", but controlling IAT can take some work, especially in hot climates at low road speeds if you are just relying on a air to water system
Man I love the 4wd builds. I really wish the ute chop and chassis extension was on camera and it was apart of the build series. Loving the content Woody
Would like to see someone build one as a triple-cab/6door! Like the Ford 6door that was on Finnegan's channel. I googled "nissan patrol 6 door" just now and saw ... some truly terrible things
HEH I had a VERY sneaking suspicion when you said you're going from diesel to petrol, that you were doing a Patrol build. Then I saw the transfer case :D :D
Yep, very familiar xfr case. Doing my own refresh on my ZD30 at the moment- nearly 5k and not done and it’s only top end. She’ll get a front mount intercooler and new turbo before it’s finished too
im liking the rebuild/pivot of this channel.its not the old skid factory and i def think it wont be the finished product either. keep up the grind woody.
AFAIK, aside from structural issues, insurance companies do the STAT write off for potential warranty issues. Salt water is almost guaranteed to come back to bite them on repair warranty so they just write it off. Could be wrong though.
Pretty much bro. If water goes above the lower door sills and into the cabin it's instantly a write off coz electronics and trapped moisture. Makes me shake my head when customers bring their 4wd in for repair after taking it for a dunk at the boat ramp 😂
Youve got the big rectangle port heads on that motor. If theyre rare 821 heads theyre also LS3 heads, lite valves and different angle. Big power engine better than cathedral port.....wait !! He come the cathedral LS guys at me
I love this video so much, I have a L77 in a caprice and I love it, it'll get torn down for a big cam one day. I really want to grab a Tahoe here in the states and make it blown L77/6L80/AWD lol so this it some awesome reference material.
you may have to check the oil pump again and change the oil pump relief spring as the dod is different pressure than normal (i think dod is about 120 psi),(standard is about 58-65 psi) sorry if you did change it
'Tough tiggys!' Hilarious.... I think that you always learn stuff what ever you're working on. Would be awesome to see you take on a project that only you really appreciate. Big block swap the Paj or just doing something fun that you really enjoy love!
Bit of a surprise you would use the incar method for the locking of the drive hub out of the car. 10 minutes the crank would be out and you could fit proper reliable drive keys to it rather than pins. They might hang in there for a while but at least keys allow replacement pulleys to be fitted and wont break easily.
Up the pooey! Just have to say what a amazing build series ! Cant wait to see how it ends, and how refreshing to see some true blue balding, bearded and belly'd lads out there giving it a go ! 😉🙋 Haha
For next time, get the bow tie\batman symbol chain tensioner. The stock style one breaks and ends up in the sump. Cam retainer plate seal wears out and you can lose oil pressure. CHE trunnion upgrade kit is the go for high RPM stuff so you don't end up with roller bearing getting eaten up by the engine.
Remove that chain guide and use the LS2 one. The OEM one will fail and end up in your sump. The only reason they changed to the spring loaded one was because VVT engines needed more chain wrapped around the cam gear.
