we need more people like this in the car scene. This guy is honest and does not bring his ego. He had no problem admitting he did not know how to drive a manual at the time. I see all of these angry comments on the fact that it is an auto, but why not give him credit for not being a damn poser like most of the people who are commenting on this video. just my two cents

All the people giving this guy shit about driving auto are babies. All of my cars are manual and I learned to drive on an auto, hell, I swapped a manual in an automatic 'cause it's fun. But i'm NOT going to give someone shit because they don't drive with a manual. You people are unbelievable. Support the guy and his car, that's what the channel is about... cars... not whether or not you're driving a manual.

Manual fanboys are the worst. There's nothing wrong with driving a stick, it has it's pros and cons just like an auto does but you never see anyone whining about "why did you have to get the manual!" it's always people complaining that someone got an auto. Just drive what you like. Auto transmissions keep getting better anyway so on newer cars it's more appealing than ever.

These comments are mostly people defending this guys choice in transmission and telling others to lay off and I can't actually seem to find anyone actually bashing him.

This should be a nice daily driver. It's not noisy and for the traffic, auto trans. Even if kids say "auto is bullshit", think it's a well modified car.

Honestly, I like his car's set-up. Driving a manual daily gets tiring esp in heavy traffic. I should've purchased an automatic instead of manual. So 2 thumbs up to this auto frs and thumbs down to you haters. Hahahahah

Loving the FRS. Great car. I had a hard decision deciding between the Jackson kit and the vortech Kit. I went with the vortech, also an off the shelf tune. I own a manual, FRS, and personally That's all I enjoy driving, But I respect the fact that you got an automatic. Dick wads need to respect the fact that we all have our preferences. At the end of the day you own a dope ass ride. Supercharged!

I have 6 cars and none are automatics. I'm not in traffic often but when I am, God I wish I had an automatic.

Perhaps I'm just getting old, but I appreciate this car.

I've reviewed a couple of supercharged FRS/BRZ and enjoyed them quite a lot. JRSC and decent tires give the car just what it needs, 80+ more hp and mechanical grip. Gives a mildly modified S2000 a run for its money.

And I love the setup it's clean and straight to the point great job. I love his honesty as well. Take note if you guys read about the pos slushmatic the shift programming inputs came from LFA and shifts at 200 ms.

I'm not usually huge on A/T budget sports cars but this one is tasteful and clean. I'm actually semi impressed.

I don't even know what to think about some of these comments.... you Auto/DCT haters are more fascinating than even the most elusive animals on the planet. I don't understand you all and the blind troll-like hatred you have. I've got a car with DCT, and never for even one second did I regret *not* buying a manual car. I can shift the car with the shifter itself of course, which I find totally engaging. Why do I need a third pedal to "have more fun" or to make me a "real car enthusiast". The transmission does what I want it to the majority of the time, but it's computer controlled so there is the rare chance that it'll have a mind of it's own. I can also use the paddles, but they're clearly cheaply made and creak like an old hardwood floor.. Just face it folks, modern day DCT's are better than a manual.. But they really should offer a package/trim level similar to this from the factory via TRD AND STI. Toyota/Subaru would make a ton of money off of selling factory modified BR-Z's/FR-S' and it could all warrantied as well, and you'd still have your normal factory warranty. Sure it would have a much higher sticker price, but you'd have the piece of mind that you own something that was done "right".

Fun, power, torque, stopping power, handling and daily driveability in heavy traffic without killing your left foot. Mad.

Coming from lots of manuals and having to daily drive them in shit traffic, I totally support buying an auto anything as a daily, shifting gets old REALLY fast when you are stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for at least 45 mins a day.

lol at these people bitching about it being an automatic...I drive a manual because I prefer it AND I DON`T DRIVE MUCH IN A MAJOR CITY, being in his situation living in LA id get an automatic as well. even with a audi which has a hydraulic clutch I hate to drive in toronto traffic

Jesus, the amount of hate for the auto is ridiculous. Look, we get it, manual is great and unicorns will rain down from the sky if you drive manual etc etc. But there are many REAL reasons to get the auto over the manual. Like fuel economy (my dads auto does 31 combined), commute a lot in traffic and cant be bothered with rowing gears. Barely negotiated with the wife in the first place (who doesnt drive manual) so you got auto. The car in auto still drives and shifts great. Not quite the level of the manual but I'm really tired of the: "lol guiz its an auto it suckzzz" circlejerk

As a driving enthusiast, I love a manual as much as the next person. However, there are good/great manuals out there too that do not detract from the driving experience! Good video :D

I hate the stigma with auto cars. This FRS is awesome. I drive an auto but only because it's my first car and it never came in manual. I get so much shit, but I love cars just as much as the next guy.

As someone with an E46 M3 SMG I have to say that this Auto is pretty close to matching it as a transmission. I've driven an FR-S before and they're LOVELY to drive, but always could use more power.

I still don't understand why people are so narrow minded about autos, especially modern ones. I totally understand that nothing beats good ol" gear banging, but for some of us that have to sit in traffic on a daily basis it can be a burden. Also if numbers matter to you double clutch beats any manual shift. Even conventional autos these days are programmed exceptionally to down shift or up shift almost closely as you wish it to be.

I feel like as far as fun and handling goes, once I move on from my RX8, the only comparable driving experience would be a BRZ/FRS. Less power than the RX8, but way better gas mileage.

And here come the people bitching that its an automatic.... Ironic thing about people who drive standards... they want everyone else to drive one, but they never want to teach anyone. "Bro your gonna grind my gears, bro your gonna pop my clutch". Their all so uptight about it, unless your car is a piece of shit, I doubt someone is going to fuck up your precious standard transmission in one ride. Standard is fun, but the cult it's created is so fucking pathetic.

I drive my auto FRS more than my manual Integra cus manual is simply tiring driving as a DD especially in daily traffic / commute. I've got the best of both worlds.

Half the comments complain about the auto. The other half complain about the people complaining about the auto. Honestly, an auto is perfrctly fine, but modifications on it are a bit of a waste of money.

Great all around set up FRS. It put together very well I wouldn't mind having it. But I'd have to up the PSI alittle. But it's a great put together FRS like I saod

How does the car feel when you heel and toe down the gears is there's a delay before it starts engine braking? I'd imagine it would take away the fun of that if there is a second delay before the engine braking.

This car is a lot of fun in low traction situations like on level enough gravel roads, It's genuinely good fun even in the automatic. Lock the diff and use every lb of the 150lbs of torque. You can actually bounce off the limiter sideways with such low horsepower at 7400rpm. Its fun. Its only disappointing really on longer drives or when you want to keep up with pretty much a transit van.

Happiness is the key. Manual owners are more likely to be depressed and angry, especially in traffic daily.

Very responsive manual mode in this car. I know GM and many have moved toward the highly responsive automatics, but wasn't aware that this platform had a quick shifting automatic. THis makes this car not so bad really...not a dct, but not too shabby.

I got an automatic frs too, wanted to get manual but I drive in heavily traffic areas, and it's a pain in the ass there.
