Years ago before my 91 fox was stolen (25year ago ), no wife no kids , no house , no mortgage. Lol). I started out with start block , stock everything with an S trim . Made 298 rwhp at 8psi . Move up to tfs iron street heats ans edelbrock EFI intake , B303 cam 1.7 rockers , 65 tb and 73 maf , 32 lb injectors. Made 418 rwhp. Was starving it . I didn't know better at the time . Melted the pist and blow the headgasket . Moved up to a 347 same block , fixed fuel issue . Change the fuel pump . When to 55 injectors toucked up the heads and intake . Went to a 70 TB and an 80 MAF . Anderson pipe , kept the B cam . Loved it better then the E . Stock T5 with 327 in the rear. Tuners Made 525 at 13lbs of boost spinning it 6500 rpm . Had an F cam but didn't have the chance to change it . All that with cold A/C . Saleen it and put 17 inch ROH ON HER . Loved that car so much .just Loved it . The sound of the vortec . miss it dearly . One day i will get another one .
Got a similar set up 331 forged goodies mahle pistons trick flow heads intake 14 pounds of boost 😀 3.55s not sure the power numbers but it will fry tires at 70mph in third 😀 can't touch in first second gear like 30 percent 😉 cooks tires and the sound is intoxicating. I desire no other car even tho some of the new stuff is insane 😳. I even got a Ferrari kill as in fast and furious.
Man that sucks, when I lived in San Francisco ca. I used to have to park my all original 86 mustang gt 5speed, Man really clean!. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night knowing how easy they are to steal and people in the Bay Area steal them like crazy out here. I had to sell because of that reason. Now I have 2 fox body’s that I have behind a gate and can mod them how I want them now
Kinda confused about the front wheels spinning on the dyno. I've been at a lot of dyno shops and seen a lot of videos of dynos and unless it's an AWD the fronts aren't even on rollers. Am I missing something? Lol
You guys got balls !....I blew my 2 bolt block in half with an old P600 B intercooled ProCharger....making roughly 17lbs of boost...it was closer to 600 HP, with all the add ons TFS aluminum Heads, Cobra modified intake, pistons, cam, all the good stuff, etc....30 over with stock crank....👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸
@@BryanRoupeyou are talking about a 5.0 Coyote, the comment, was about a 2 bolt main 302... You could put 1,000HP to that motor in the 70s, and it would crack THE BLOCK!!! Please, elaborate how new products INSIDE the motor, would help the tensil strength, of the BLOCK 😂🤦♂️🤡
Love the car man. I was wondering what bov you were running and where you got the charge tube from? I'm putting a Paxton Novi 2000 on my 78 Cobra 2 and I've been looking for a setup similar to yours but I cannot find it
2 valves are trash … I had a built lighting and it was a total waste of money even though it made 850 to the crank .. if I had to do it all over I would’ve put a coyote in it and turbo
That's a good number considering there is a torque converter on the back of that motor. My 5speed 92 made 538 on a mustang dyno on 12 psi vortech s trim with afm power pipe and manual tensioner. Block split down the valley roll racing on a frontage road. I did a 331 dart block deal and it made 476 rwhp on the same dyno solid roller cam and a set of big afr and heads. Sometimes less is more. B303 cam and smog legal tfs heads for the win.
Tiny lil powerdyne blower on my car and I’m making 410 at the tire. 331 stroker with afr165 heads and 45lb injector. I can’t wait to upgrade to a novi2000 and see what my car makes at 18psi!!!
Im just wondering why you used a blow-of valve, isn't that waste power on parasitic drag when reach the desired psi! may be to get better torque on lower rpm range?
Question I have a 302 stock machine balanced old school carb. Can I put a wiend super charger blower that sits on top which is belt driven. What are psi limits on stock 302, and what to watch out for to not blow shit up.
Ive been looking at the novi kits is about 4k for a tuner kit just the compressor and and air charge tubes then you need fuel system and computer they are not cheap 💪🇺🇸🔧👍🚘🔴🔥
Honestly I did excepted more with 17lbs of boost. In the late 90s I made 617whp with stock bottom end, TFS original street heat heads cam and a S-trim on 16lbs of boost. Although I did run gen 6 DFI. So I could run the motor well past the stock 6250 rev limit. Not sure what you have for computer but there's more on the table if you can run it to 6800rpm or so. Any more rpm at that hp level. The bottom ends and block start to get angry lol. Regardless still not a bad job and at least it's not another fucking Ls. Have no problem with Chevy. I'm just so tired of seeing the same thing over and over. If you do think about running pass 6250 you will find little more power with a box upper. Didn't really hurt the power below 4000rpm either. Good luck and enjoy.
Out of curiosity, why the meth injection when you are running E85? Not criticizing, I had a great experience using water/meth on a 5.0 with a 150 nitrous shot, and 93 pump gas.
I had 89 5.0 with afr heads, holley intake, cam, and novi 1000. Stock bottom end. It made 400 rwhp at 10lbs on a conservative tune, with pump gas. I miss that car.
Found a big vacuum leak after pulley change and belt issue fixed, would only make 9psi of boost. Immediately made 17-18psi after fixed and picked up good power
Seems low 500 at 17psi, but then again what do I know lol, I came from Hemi platform that make crazy power!!, and now just starting to learn that making power on 2v ain’t as easy
My goal for my car a 2002 Mustang GT Zinc Yellow convertible 5sp is a livernois 5.3L Short block 195cc ported TFS heads with the intake Andrew has using a BW EFR 9280 single turbo. Assembled BY Livernois ( Not sure of the cam but I want to be able to shift at 7200. NA powerband I think should be 1500 - 5800 and let the turbo handle the rest.)Final compression ratio 10.5 :1.
That’s crazy would have thought you’d made into the 600 range on e85 with 17psi. The th400 must eat a lot up. I have a vortech on 15lb on e85 it’s a hand full 1st through 3rd
We where a little thrown off by the dyno numbers. It was flowing enough fuel to make over 600hp, 80lb injectors over 90% duty cycle with 60psi base. Interested to see what it does on the track.
On this type of dyno, the tears are driven and the fronts are only driven if the car is all wheel drive. So the fronts spin a little when you pull it on, but the driven wheels are being measured correctly
Ok cool I’m at 14 initial and 45 overall with a big cam had no power until I went up on timing think I need 4 more degrees. Lots of back and forth on timing in the 302s.
That HP is way low compared to a vortech S trims I've seen. A Vortech S trim with decent heads and cam on a 302 typically makes 495 rwhp on 10 psi. Built several and all dyno 490+ rwhp with 10psi. They've all had different heads, cam, intake combos too.
Some dyno shops run the front wheels to match the rear to tune progression based on speed and most speed sensors are mounted on the front as to not give false readings due to wheel spin
Sbf... heads, cam intake, supercharger 9psi= 400rwhp - $5000 in motor easy Ls1....stock ls6 heads, cam, stock ls6 intake=400+rwhp - $2000..... ls1 with same mods as the mustang... $5000 and 600-800rwhp. Very nice car and good power but why spend the money on a 302 not a 351/408?
