For best launch 4500rpm lockup converter, as that is where your tq peak was on your dyno pull. For drag only, put @ all 4 corners, 17 *10 wheels, w/315-35-17 mickey thompson drag radial ss, lighter, shorter tires=huge gearing/quickness, without changing ring and pinion! This should get you to 11.50 to 11.40s in 1/4 mile, w/a 1.6? 60 ft. Then add Stainless steel 1 7/8, or 2 inch Long tube hedders, 3 inch x-pipe, w/true dual 3 inch side exit exhaust, w/high cfm flow mufflers. Custom cold air intake, E85 tune, smaller blower pulley=5Lbs more boost(Great w/E85)= should run in the 10s @12?mph, w/1.5? 60 ft. On pump E85!
Those huge smiles after the runs says ti all for me. I have been looking at exhaust, so I guess I might as well throw a supercharger at it too! Nope, want to stay married.
Great job. With that said, I would love to see highway fuel economy numbers for a blown coyote motor in an F150. Since this is a daily driver, this would be some good info, not to mention an interesting video.
I know this comment is 7 months late but I wanted to respond, on my 21 super crew whipple, if I put it in ECO and am easy on the throttle I get around 20-21 mpg on the highway, surprisingly.
@@americantrucks It's close to running again. I sent the blower kit out for a custom crank support and it took 16 months for me to get half of the kit home. I'm hoping to fire it up in the next week or two. Gotta get her ready for the AM show!
In high school I was waterbox boy for the staging area. Diesel weekend was always my favorite. The trucks warm the rear tires in the box and then switch into 4wd for the quarter mile. Also I guess you have to press the traction control button for 10 seconds to FULLY turn fords advancetrac off. You can also air down the tires a bit for better launch.
I got the truck, I just need the 10g now. With a 13.1 sec stock ram coming out. I might have to save up fast. Im enjoying not worrying about stock rams now. Not looking forward to a ass kicking with stock ram, lol
I swapped out my rear gear in my '21F150 from a 3.31 to a 4.10 really helped out acceleration. BTW the speedo must go off of the wheel speed not trans. My gear swap did not affect my speedometer but my wheel swap did.
@@gilbertrtf2195 I haven't had a chance to take it to the track, but i did the same with my old truck and picked up 0.6 sec in the quarter. So far it feels a lot faster and my wheel speed increased. I started getting a lot of wheel hop off the line so I got Caltracs traction bars which stopped the wheel hop. But they are very squeaky which is annoying on a truck I'm paying $800/Mo for.
awesome to hear this bro. because of the lack of tuning and stuff i wasnt sure if gear swapping was possible on these trucks yet. but i did find someone and now im also switching from 3.31 to 4.10 in a week for my whippled 21 f150
@@JonSison my new rear tires are 1.5 inch taller so now my speedo is off. I'm really doing 64 but the truck says 60mph. The gear change didn't change it. Barks 2nd gear scratches a lot easier now.
@@americantrucks Can you give any insight on why Dustin at Whipple has mentioned on f-150 Facebook groups that the side exit style exhaust used on this truck can cause catalytic converter/catastrophic failures due to bad O2 sensor readings? Many of us are stumped.
Don’t do it. Whipple claims they have a warranty for you - then when it blows up, they won’t cover any of it. Ask me how I know! Got a 2020 F150 with a roush supercharger, runs great, no issues. 2021 F150 with a whipple just like the one in the vid. Blew up at 20k miles and whipple won’t step up at all.
Believe me- that was my favorite car/truck I've ever owned, hands down. I had a great 5+ years with it but it was time to move on and unfortunately I don't think a Raptor R is in the cards so this is the next best thing. -Justin
Great video we have the same truck except i have 3.73s and a 6.5 box im just curious why no e85? It would definitely pick up more power and run a bit cooler
I'm glad they didn't for the sake of appealing to everyone. Because only E near me is like 40 miles away, on the daily I want to putt around on regular if I can. Good to see it's still making good numbers in bad conditions
I want to install whipple for my 2021 f150 what should i do to aviod back pressure issue , can i run it with stock headers and exhaust or what safety to do because i want quiet sound like factory
I definitely want to upgrade my ‘21 like that someday! Why did you choose the Sport over the Xtreme exhaust? I want to get one for mine but can’t decide which sound level.
Hey Lucas, thanks for watching man. In regards to the exhaust- I'm not a huge fan of super loud stuff on the daily. I want something that is livable day in and day out and on long road trips which we do a lot of. For me that made the Sport the easy choice. Thanks again! -Justin
@@americantrucks thanks for the response. Love your truck build so far! My ‘21 is an XL STX 4x4 SuperCab in Lead Foot Gray. I absolutely love it! I might end up going all out with the Xtreme just because haha! But we’ll see. Great content, much love from Texas!
@@lucasblanchard47 My buddy's got a cat back Corsa extreme on his mustang and it's quite loud but also quite raspy, which I don't actually like. I bought a Corsa sport and couldn't be happier.
That was sweet! The idiots where I’m from mod out some regular cab Silverado with cam and stalls and what not and the hit a 12.5-13.00. Trash ass silverados😂
Man, I love your videos on You Tube. What type of Cam do you think I can use? I have a 2017 Ford F150 5.0 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4, and I want to add a Comp Cam, Stainless Headers with Cats, and a performance Melling oil pump. I just need some advice on what I should look out for and ask around for a technician to install for me. I really hope to hear from you.
Thanks Mickey! As far as cams- save your money and put it towards a blower. You really don't get a big return on cams on the coyote unless your going max effort N/A build and even at that point, you'll still get walked by forced induction trucks. Also, don't need a 'melling' oil pump- just install oil pump gears from a trusted name (Ford Performance, Boundary, VMP, etc) and a crank sprocket and you'll be good! Good luck with the truck and thanks for watching! -Justin
I would absolutely think so- especially if you kept it to an XLT, etc. if you don't need all of the Roush appearance stuff, you can certainly save a few bucks! -Justin
@@Honoer I think with the Whipple and 3.73 will be faster in the quarter mile than with 3.31 gears. I’m only speaking with what is offered for the 21+ Ford F-150. Trucks are limited to certain boost and 93 octane. Use the extra gear for quicker et’s
All comes down to what kind of tone you're looking for! Magnaflow Exhaust, Borla's Touring Series and Flowmaster's FlowFX Series exhausts are good examples of systems that will give you more tone but will keep the volume levels tame. The next step up would be systems like Borla's S-Type or Corsa Sport systems. LOUD exhausts to check out are Flowmaster Outlaw, Corsa Xtreme, or Borla ATAK. -Zach
I would definitely check out some of those first systems I mentioned then! Mangaflow's Street Series and Borla's Touring will be perfect for you. -Zach
Always loved this channel and website but here lately nothing I buy has been worth a shit. Bought a SCT BDX tuner that won’t read anything I just get error codes, bought some dual function axial fog lights that light up different colors so they’re useless. Customer service was just about a waste of time. $600 worth of stuff that doesn’t work
Hey Dylan- sorry to hear you've had some bad luck on products lately. Shoot me an email at Justin.Dugan@turn5.com- I'll see if I can assist in anyway. -Justin
The trucks with the worlds most recalls and TSB's the F150 2020 to 2023. 36+ open recalls/TSB's, No thx. I almost bought one but theres been so many popping up on used lots it says someting bad. .
