When Dan glitches out of the level and is looking in from the black void, it genuinely looks like Matthew McConaughey looking through the bookshelf from the tesseract in Interstellar.
My dream is now that somehow, Dan, Jeff, and Mike all wind up at Games Done Quick in a special Blight Club block, having all picked one of their games to start speedrunning.
GB chat needs a killswitch for mike and jeff's mics cause dan knows he can just stumble around for a minute and get pointed in the right direction lmao
2 weird things happened in this episode. 1: dan remembered something and used the context clues to solve a puzzle! Of course he immediately forgot it the next time he had to do it, but in the moment I was impressed 2: i wound up listening to multiple Canned Heat songs this week because of a podcast I listen to and then that band wound up being mentioned here.
This was the third video game I ever owned after Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. I have played it many times and let me assure you: IT GETS MUCH WORSE.
1:47:00 Joseph Williams isn't the guy that sings Africa - He joined the band later in the 80s (and is currently touring with Steve Lukather as 'Toto') - he sang on their albums Fahrenheit and The Seventh One
5:35 Oh wow, the little flourish sound the game plays during "Display Cinema," as if to say, "Behold! Marvel at the cinematic TEXT on the screen! Don't act like you're not impressed."
"We'll get Lucy and Tam, it's an Amiga game, they must have played it growing up" has gotta be up there as one the most racist things Minatti's ever said.
Can you guys bounce out audio versions of Blight Club? I've always treated it like a podcast and youtube is being shite right now... remember bufferring?? google doesnt...
