You've already noticed that SuperFruit often injects an element of playfulness in their work. Another great medley is Empire. Their cover of Rise will blow you away (features by Mary Lambert, Brian Justin Crum and Mario Jose). You'll also get a kick of out Hip Hop Goes to Broadway (parts 1 and 2) and their rapping on a cover of Feeling Myself. Their original work is also great. And many (but not all) of their covers have outtakes.
I will always love Superfruit! For many years these two were attached at the hip, living together and hanging out, plus doing Pentatonix together and their vocals really show how in sync they were during that time. Not that they aren’t, now, but the Superfruit era was a special time in their friendship that culminated in a full EP of original music that celebrated, processed, and put to bed this time in their lives. Every song on the EP had a video. My favorites are Guy.exe and Deny U, but I love them all. Of the videos like this one where they are just sitting there singing along with a track of Scott playing piano (they both play, but it was Scott in these videos), my favorites are the Empire Medley, and the Rihanna Anti Medley. Their cover of Feeling Myself is so much fun, and their Hip Hop Goes Broadway videos are hilarious. Then there are the parodies, which are vocally killer but also funny, like Defying Gravity, and Frozen (with Kirstie). They also have some serious covers including Rise, performed by all LGBTQ+ artists after the horrifying Pulse massacre, and The Promise. This side rabbit hole of the PTX rabbit hole is full of gold. So happy we lured you in successfully!
Yes, they are looking to the side for the lyrics, especially for Scott, who is notorious for forgetting the lyrics :). If you want to see them rapping, check out superfruit doing a cover of "Feeling myself" :)
There is so much great SupeFruit material out there. Recommend Rise (Katy Perry cover), GUY.EXE (original by Scott and Mitch), Frozen Medley (with Kirstie), and Defying Gravity
Don’t forget Goodbye From Lonely, Hip Hop Goes Broadway, Vacation, Imaginary Parties, oh heck, let’s face it, everything from SuperFruit is spectacular!!
I’m not sure if anyone mentioned but back in the day Mitch would go into the studio for both Superfruit and Pentatonix and lay down a backing track for whatever song. They did talk about it in their earlier vlogs.
Superfruit is fabulous, so happy you’re adding them to the channel. Mitch and Scott met as kids doing community theater in Texas and then sang in choirs in high school together (with Kirstie, too), so they have been friends for years - and so in sync musically that it’s almost magical. Superfruit started as a weekly RU-vid vlog, with a healthy dose of humor and music, that eventually resulted in a full original album called Future Friends. Imaginary Parties, Guy.Exe and Vacation are favorites of mine, but all are really good and they all have music videos. For the vlog sessions, any time you see the Subscribe card, wait for the outtakes for a little something extra. I enjoyed your reaction very much, thanks. Peace …
You have to watch a Superfruit episode : Why Beyonce is Queen 101... It’s so funny to see Scott and Mitch being total fan geeks over Beyonce. Adorable. 🥰🤗
That was fun! It's been a while since any reactors have checked out Superfruit...mostly because X-Mass season is upon us. It so full of fun from silly challenges and chats to serious and wonderful and serious music. They don't take themselves too seriously, so there's often the bloopers section for a lot of the videos. Yes...there's a lightboard with the lyrics in front of them. Scott is quite well renowned for forgetting lyrics. They even have the lyrics on several screens at the front of the stage at concerts.
@@LocalBandSmokeout Yeah definitely, also there's a video called Pentatonix random jamming and singing on the fly. Mitch raps in that and you get to see what awesome people they are behind the scenes.
Sometimes they are funny and silly and even as they are being funny they are damned good singing. Agree on Rise. It was made to honor those that lost their lives in Pulse in Miami. I cry every time. I also love Hip Hop on Broadway 1 and 2 and the bloopers. They made me laugh so much I peed my pants. Also must do Feeling Myself and Defying Gravity. For some fun like this in Pentatonix Gangnam Style and Thrift Shop. Bloopers too ( Scott forgets lyrics more often than Mitch so they do have them sometimes) They have so many episodes/ videos of them together in Superfruit. When we seasoned Pentaholics watch PTX songs we have in our minds songs like this and other work they do outside of PTX.
Superfruit 👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥! Empire Medley next- I’ve never seen the TV program yet this medley is my favorite. As others have mentioned Hip Hop Goes Broadway (1 and 2), Feeling Myself, Frozen Medley, Happy Little Pill and Guy.exe are great to continue with 😁. Superfruit can definitely bring the laughs, especially their vlog episodes.
This was awesome! I’m so happy you reacted to them. Superfruit is my favorite!!! They have so many other videos that I can’t wait for you to see. Defying Gravity will blow you away and you won’t be able to stop laughing. Rhianna Medley, empire medley, and 1989 (it’s a Taylor swift medley) and the Miley Cyrus medley are musts and then you can get to their actual released music, starting with Guy.exe
Thank you LBS for reacting to SuperFruit for us. Glad to see you were enjoying them. You may also enjoy by SuperFruit is their rendition of Rise and their original Guy.exe. Best wishes from Tennessee 😊🇺🇸
Scott is a Beyoncé Stan. She texted they were flawless on this video and Scott was so excited he got a shirt with flawless on the back and wore it around for a long time. Mitch is a Rhianna super fan and their medley of Rhianna is great. It’s called the “Anti” medley as they do a medley of entire Anti Album. Superfruit is so much fun. It started as a weekly blog as they traveled around with PTX and I. Those days they were room mates and filmed weekly funny videos, and sometimes they sing and it’s great. They got so popular that Superfruit put out an entire Superfruit album called future friends and each song has a video. I love the entire album
Yes, they (and PTX) are just that good!! I saw them last night with my mom, sister, and 4 nieces ages 6-23. It was such an incredible show, we were all on cloud nine. And so many times we kept saying “omg they sound SO GOOD!” Haha
Please be sure to check out their Lady Gaga medley. Mitch can make himself sound like Gaga herself. If you are familiar with the musical "Wicked", Defying Gravity is jaw dropping.
Scott and Mitch started doing this kind of thing in school together. And that is Scott playing the piano accompaniment. I love his piano arrangements. I've heard that before PTX he was thinking of having a solo career with him singing and accompanying himself, like John Legend. When I started watching these I didn't understand how they could coordinate the voices and the piano part with all the dropouts and tempo changes, but the credits show this was recorded in a studio and lists two mixers / engineers, so I suppose they can fix any small timing problems.
Love seeing reactors get into Superfruit. This is one of my favorites (I don’t even like Beyoncé) and Empire melody (never watched the show) . Hip hop goes broadway 1 & 2 are hilarious. Make sure to watch bloopers on those.
Yes, these are all the songs from Beyoncé's self titled 2013 album. From the video notes -- "We couldn't decide what Beyoncé song to cover, so we decided to cover the entire album"
You need to check out their Defying Gravity. It’s a hoot but so perfect. They also did a Frozen medley with Kirstie that was fun also. Don’t forget to stay for the out takes! Enjoyed!
Yep, lyrics to the left, especially for Scott. Lol. The piano is prerecorded but played by Scott. Mitch plays too, he precords and plays his Messer synths (solo dark EDM side project). The background voices are them, just prerecorded. I recommend Empire and Feelin Myself, and anything of their Future Friends EPs.
Superfruit? You've GOT TO CHECK OUT "Hip Hop Goes Broadway" (1 and 2). You'll laugh your ass off. It's genius. Great out-takes at the end of each one, too!
Superfruit is Fanta. Do you like Hip hop? They have 3 videos (pretty short) called ‘Hip Hop Goes Broadway’. It’s exactly what it sounds like. And it’s hilarious. SF tends to be a little more adult than PTX.
