I don't know for sure, but I suspect that Superfruit was a product of Mitch and Scott living together. It seems like since they live apart, they don't have that extra time together - I imagine they were bouncing ideas around while they were hanging out. It's good that they have their own lives moving forward, but that was an era!
I'm afraid you are right. Probably Superfruit era never come back. I miss them terribly, my poor Scomiche heart is crying, but I understand that they must go on with their lives. The only thing we can do is to be grateful for their time toghether. It was a blessing! (And bliss for us😉)
Yes, you said her name right. Amber is from L.A., the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, & she was recruited by a kpop company at almost 15 yrs old, signed on with them & after the end of that next school year went to Korea to be a trainee despite knowing almost no Korean. So at 15.5 she started training & debuted with a group called f(x) just a few weeks before her 17th birthday. (1.5 yrs from starting as a new trainee to actually debuting is very fast considering she had no formal singing or dancing teaching before being signed, only sang at church. In fact her parents were shocked at her sudden announcement that she had been invited to an audition & wanted to try to be a professional singer.) From her early teens she refused to wear dresses & skirts, tight short-shorts & such to let guys ogle her, & wore little to no makeup. She continued that stance throughout her training. Her group got pretty popular, & she got well known even by fans that didn't follow her group because of her personality & tomboy clothing style (with a hint of punk) making her stand out from typical female kpop singers. So, she's a kpop queen that also does solo mostly English songs & has done quite a number of collabs too. So that's how Scott & Mitch knew of her. (I love how they gave her a crown & throne in the video.) But also, she had become a fan of PTX & Superfruit, & had been extremely disappointed that her own schedule had prevented her from being able to meet them in person when PTX went to Seoul. A friend who is a kpop singer & also from the US so a native English speaker was the one set up to interview them, so he actually could've arranged for her to meet them. She apparently tweeted her disappointment along with a mention of loving a particular Superfruit song, so they heard about it & were impressed a kpop queen knew of them. 😄 Then later when they were tweaking this song's style to suit them (I forget who wrote it, they say in their announcement about it) they added a bit of kpop influence to the sound, which got them thinking about a feature. So they sent her a message asking if she wanted to collab on a Superfruit song with them.
As mentioned elsewhere, Amber was with an experimental kpop group called f(x). Check out some of their stuff, such as "Pinocchio (Danger)" or "Rum Pum Pum Pum", or her solo debut "Shake That Brass", or even her post-f(x) [English!] work such as "Need to Feel Needed", or "Hands Behind My Back".
I'm right there with you with wanting them to do a reunion. I love their music and even miss their videos where they just talk about stuff. If you haven't gone and watched their "PHOTOBOOTH CHALLANGE" videos yet, you should do them as a reaction. I would love to see you enjoy them, they're so funny.
they totally blew their whole budget on videos for guy.exe, future friends, etc lmaooo but this one is so fun!!! can't wait for you to do how you feeling - it's my favorite and they filmed in one take at their house and maybe be absolutely drunk in it

I’ve seen a lot of reactors struggle to get the Lip Sync Battle reactions uploaded without them getting blocked. I’d love to see Travis react to them tho cuz they’re really amazing! Some reactors have uploaded them on a different platform, such as dailymotion, and then shared a link to that reaction on youtube, so maybe that could work… 🤷♀️
You found one I had never seen!! Way to go! I loved it too of course - like you said - they are so creative and goofy! I swear - I must be related to them somehow, coz every time I watch one of their videos I have flashbacks of me & my best friends in high school doing crazy skits & making up satirical lyrics to popular songs (for me, that was the 70s!) I wrote one to the tune of Another One Bites the Dust by Queen called Another One Starts to Cuss & it is just hilarious. I was about 12 when I wrote it. Still got my original copy of it written on notebook paper! But yeah - If Scott had been alive & my age & in my class back then I know we would have been great friends! Crap!! I was born too soon! Lol! Nah, I wouldn't change that for the world. I am very thankful that my life was such that there were no home computers, no cell phones or fancy technology. I had a great childhood & young adulthood, despite having disabling health problems since the day I was born. That just made me stronger. For instance, I'm about to take a train to Louisville Kentucky, just me & my daughter, to see the Ptx concert in December, although I have never traveled anywhere like that without my hubby. I am just that determined to see them this year!! Wish me luck!! Love those reactions! (& your shirts! HaHa!) - & your dogs! They are so cute!! XO💜
Pretty sure Scott directed this video. I read they made this one after they misjudged and blew through their entire budget doing the other songs. Amber Lui had a behind the scenes for her part in this, but there wasn't much of Mitch and Scott in it.
One of my favorite songs off of future friends ❤️. A MUST SEE video from them is their La La Land Medley which features Kirstie. It’s sooo fun to watch and experience and you will definitely enjoy it. Great video Travis!!!

Their video's are masterpieces. I adore them.💓 Even when the song itself isn't my favorite. "Fantasy" is among my less favorites with "Hurry up" and "Imaginary parties". I like it obviously, but the rest from Future Friends I simply love. You still have to check out "How are you feeling" 😊 And "Keep me coming". The last one isn't so often recommended but it's really worth watching. And you should back to their medleys. "Empire Medley" for example. It's mindblowing how they can be impressive even without crazy colorfull video's. Black wall behind, microphones and their faces and voices. It's more than enough.
It's a shame they stopped Superfruit, they made such funny and still very high quality stuff! Well actually in Asian countries it's pronounced in 2 distinct syllables, making it sound like lee-oo. So it's possible he has heard someone else comment about Asian based names not always being pronounced the way we think & that made him uncertain.
