It's strange because I giggled when she said that line, but then it actually hit me between the lines that although Alex is a scientist and knows fine well that taking the sodding grass is stupid it conveys that's she's hopeless and distraught. Like when a bad thing is happening and I have actually screamed stupid shit that I know won't work, and in this instance it actually did.
Well there is energy in sunlight and considering the sun randomly "going out" (I don't know how they want to manage to do that but ight) there should still be energy left in the grass and I'm guessing Kara gets her powers from the radiation and the energy of the sun so maybe that wasn't that bad of a plan to begin with (I'm not a scientist but that seems logical in my head)
@@GLITCHED1 Of course, it's science fiction after all! I know if we properly analysed it, its a reach - but it didn't inhibit this scenes ability to get me :(
DNA doesn't make a family Sometimes the ones who don't share DNA have better bonds using a supernatural quote here" Family doesnt start with blood and doesnt end there"
The take the grass part actually made me even more sad. Alex is a scientist, she knows how photosynthesis works, but she was so desperate and her sole thought was that she couldn't lose her sister. It was a miracle the grass even worked.
Exactly. There are 5 stages of grief bargaining and denial are usually the first 2 that are displayed. Alex has so many things going through her mind. Chyler made you feel that pain so deeply. I could feel Alex afraid of Kara dying while thinking Alex didn't know her.
the only thing that doesn't make sense to me is the mother mad far while one daughter basically dead and the other crying over her body wtf go next to them .... why they made her stand mad far lol wtf
I know this is supposed to be a serious scene but I can’t help losing it when Alex goes “TAKE THE GRASS, KARA” I just can’t 😂 I wonder how the actors stayed serious 😂
Just a question. Kind of a conspiracy theory if you will: How exactly did Kara come back to life? Was it the sunlight in the grass? Or was it Alex's undying love for her sister, which is a power greater than any force the world has seen? In other words, the power of "Love"
I don't think I"m psychic or something, but I had a foreshadowing vision of this scene a few months ago. It was a bit different, but very similar to what happens in this sequence. Basically Supergirl/Kara is severely injured during a fight with a very powerful enemy, and then is left for dead. Alex, being the devoted sister that she is, goes over to her near lifeless body and then heartbreakingly pleads for her not to die. In fact, she says "Kara, please don't go! I love you." "I can't live without you!" Then through some strange form of intervention, Supergirl/Kara is restored to life, then Alex says to her, "Thank you. Thank you for not dying." The two sisters then share a heartfelt embrace as they return home. Like I said, I don't think if I"m psychic or anything, but I find it ironic that I had a foreshadowing vision of this scene. Call it what you will, circumstance or irony, but I think it's amazing.
I came cheap I out this scene cos someone mentioned it to me but the way they describe ribe it, I just pictured Alex force feeding an unconscious Kara grass and the fact that it turns out not to be the case I'm disappointed.
This is equally the most heartfelt moment of these two (debatable because they have many) as well as the most hilarious…. Like all in one… only the writing team of Supergirl.
Excuse me who wrote this story i would have scripted that while supergirl was down i would have had the mother show up in her fighting stuff to take on the wannabe let's face it she was the first and only real supergirl you know from the 80s dah
