Fun fact: this was the first scene of this season (the part filmed this year) that Chyler and Melissa had together, so that hug was definitely real.

Absolutely. In fact, if you watch very closely, you can see that Melissa & Chyler are BOTH crying in this scene. The first, and shockingly, only time this happened in the series. The two of them had an interview (I don't remember from what news site), where they both said, that the reuniting sequence was their personal favorite scene, because it shows the bond the two have developed for each other not just as on-screen characters, but real-life friends as well.

Nope. They had a sun bomb in season 2, Supergirl Lives, when Kara went through a portal to Slaver's Moon looking for Izzy. It was the first episode that Kevin Smith directed and his daughter played Izzy. J'onn gave a sun grenade to Alex before she went through the portal because Martians couldn't take the atmosphere for some reason, and he knew that Kara would need her powers.

This scene had me literally crying with joy because the Danvers Sisters have been reunited. The relationship between Kara & Alex is the main reason why I love & watch this show #danversisters #danverssistersforever

Indeed it was. If you watch carefully, you can see that the Danvers Sisters are both crying with each other. That's a first for the show Supergirl, because usually if there are crying scenes, it's usually one sister or the other crying solo. This time they cry together.

Me too. Been calling that moment since Episode 3 of this season. Btw, if you look very closely, both Kara & Alex are crying in this scene. That is a first for the show, as usually it's one or the other who is crying. This time it was the both of them.

@@scottdecker9115 That's because that was the first time that Melissa & Chyler had seen each other since they had shut down due to Covid in March of 2020. At some point after that and before the start of filming on season 5, Chyler caught Covid & it was bad enough that she & her husband discussed what would happen if she didn't get better. Fortunately she did. Those tears were real in that scene.

I am so sorry to see this show go - Supergirl/Alex was just one fantastic combination. The sisters were the foundation of the show and Melissa and Chyler are the best. Whenever anyone mentions SuperGirl, for me, Melissa will always be the one that I think of. If the show had just kept the focus on the sisters it would have been wonderful.

Yeah season 4 ruined it for me. Having Alex forget her. Then they have 1 incredible scene when she remembers, but nothing about what they both went through when Alex didn't know who Super Girl was. I felt life they did that to build up the Lens and Kara friendship. So that Kara needed someone else. It was s huge mistake

Having seen the deleted scene that was a different take on Kara's reunion with Alex, I'm glad that David went with this one, even though J'onn stood off to the side here, where the unused version Kara calls him over & Zor-El is seen in the background. It just didn't quite have the emotional impact that the one he chose when editing the episode.

Also I hate that we never got to see Zor-El's introduction to Alex. Alura only had 28 seconds. Zor-El, nothing. We also never heard her talk about Alex to her dad. At least we got to hear Kara tell her mom about Alex.

Like everyone, I live for dinners sisters moments. But I rrrreeeaaaallllyyyy hope they don't brush under the rug and completely forget about the fact that kara was infected by a phantom. I mean the least they could do is say it was one who died from the sun bomb. But they need to acknowledge it somehow. Anyways, I can't wait for lena and kara to reunite. 🥰 Lena has gotten closer with everyone so it will be nice to see her interact with kara now that's she's more sure of her position with everyone else.

Here’s my prediction to how the show ends, Kara and her Dad go to Argo City and live with her mom to make up for lost time. She leaves the city to everyone else to protect, Alex, Kelly, Dreamer, and Brainy. They don’t need her anymore. It’ll be sad 🥺🥺. I wish they could make a Kelly and Alex spinoff. Or brainy and Nia 🥺🥺🥺🥺. I’m not ready to leave Alex yet 😓😓

@@joewhitehead3 Yeah. But Kara had no powers for who knows how long. She's probably out of practice. It probably felt like an eternity in that phantom zone. So at the first touch of the power she could not use for so long and her excitement at seeing Alex she super speed to her sister. Though Kara was happy to have her father back. She has been experiencing torment for days weeks months. What must have felt like forever. The phantom have been torturing Kara for weeks or months. Kara is tremotized and just like what Alex thought and fear she would never see her sister again. She controlled her speed enough not to knock Alex down. But there may have been some lost of control. She was so excited to see Alex again and probably scared it's not real. So Kara ran to her and with the mini red sun giving her a boost. She moved fast and only cought herself at the last moment during her speed to Alex as to not crush her sister.

Myzy. That woman who helped Kara free her father from the bad criminals and who fought Kara because she wanted them to excap through a mirror and leave Kara's father behind. But Kara broke the mirror to keep Myzy from excaping. So no Myzy secretly hitched a ride with with team supergirl. We also see Myzy in the second trailer for the up coming episodes.

I think their stories will be largely seperate this season, they just did two years of the story being all about Lena, and they need to get back to kara's conflicts like her dual identity. That's why she's now reconnecting with her father and her kryptonian side, while Lena will have to keep working on herself, realizing she never was the person Kara thought she was, and needs to break out of her toxic patterns of behavior including her narcissism, hubris, and bottomless need for external validation. Otherwise she really will become lex eventually.
