My take on the Supergirl/L&C:TNAOS intro mash up. I always loved Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman’s main theme and it goes well with Supergirl.
I could not do better than this if I even tried. I've seen some good editing jobs and respectful nods in my time as Ytuber. This ranks up with the best of them.
Not simply that, but they were in the SAME episode and didn't share a scene. What a missed opportunity to have them both and not stage a reunion, I'm still mad about it.
This opening is actually the reason I started watching Supergirl. Got through first 2 seasons and now I need a break. That Mon-El separation was pretty hard. Also Calista Flockheart as Cat Grant...GODDAMN. AWESOME FUCKING CHARACTER.
I LOVE IT!!! I don't even watch Supergirl...(waiting for it to end so i don't have to deal with cliffhanger...already going through that hell with Agents of SHIELD)
Happy New Year to you too! I’m glad you like it! Your opinion means a lot to me since I know you love both shows. It was fun to make; there are lots of similarities between these two shows.
Working with wires, and physical stuff turned out the flying scenes so more natural and that’s the beauty of it. With computers and software editing, they characters became all the same… like if we are playing play stations or Xbox. Too artificial.
You can't fairly compare visual effects of a tv show from the '90s to a show from 2016. I think Lois & Clark had great effects for its time, but the technology understandably evolved since then. And if you go back and watch the pilot episode of L&C some of the flying scenes and practical effects are better then some in Supergirl.
My only critique about this would be in the credits. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster didn’t create Supergirl, they created Superman. Otto Binder and Al Plastino created Supergirl. The only character used in Supergirl that Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created is Jimmy Olsen
The syncing could have been a bit better in the beginning with the logo but otherwise great job. I support this. However there is an error in the credits. The only characters in Supergirl that were created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster was Jimmy Olsen. All other characters used in the show were created by other people. Since this is based off of season 1 that is, because Superman wasn't used till season 2 when the show moved from CBS to The CW network
The "Based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster" is what Supergirl (the show) uses in their credits, I borrowed it from them, so it's not an error. What you wrote is true, but I guess everything tied to Superman is technically based on Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, otherwise why use it in the official credits.
