@Alfred Noalkes It might be true that they were One Hit (worldwide at least, in the UK they had several Top 10), however that doesn't change the fact they have other great tracks that should've enjoyed the same success (Low C, Moving, Run, etc.). Noted, having good tracks doesn't garantize success, but regardless of whether they play or not "Alright", it doesn't mean they are as appreciated as they deserve.
Alfred Noalkes one hit wonders with six Top 10 singles and five Top 10 albums, plus a compilation album that got to number 4? I know a lot of bands who’d love a one-hit wonder career like that.
@@alvarroen4328 one hit wonder......they were one of the biggest bands in the UK for about a decade. They have the same number of top ten singles as Coldplay 😂
If life after death really exists, I'm sure that one of the best things to do there will be the possibility to live the 90's again. Like in a parallel universe.
1:18 I don't think I've ever seen a dolly zoom used in this context. I think they were probably trying to replicate the effect as it appears in the music video for the song.
I use to thin that this song would be the way my life is now but I was so wrong . Getting old sucks. I wish I was in my 20's again so I could do it all again and do it like this song suggests.
It's very easy to look back in the past as being better than the present, in 15 years you'll think of your life now in the same way, and that's a loop everyone gets stuck in. Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans, you don't think about it while it's happening. Then when you have time to reflect on the past you finally get a chance to go "huh that was fucking fun". So instead of being upset you're getting older appreciate that you can look back at your life with a smile, and live in the moment so 15 years from now you can appreciate yourself now. :)
@@seank9823 I know what your saving but as of late I have got some life changing news from my doctor and I don't know how bad it will be for me in the future. Time will say what ahead for me.
I can possibly imagine it's to be able to give the song a natural ending (as the studio version fades out). I think ending it after that instrumental bridge probably sounded better than trying to bring it to an end after the final chorus when the song has the most momentum.
@@blahqwe - Exactly. With most of us now having the internet and instant access to news/gossip/lies/craziness, we can be aware of various things very fast. :-)
@@NOWtheband That's partly true but we definitely didn't have the offended by everything brigade complaining that a word for example is sexist or stupid stuff like that. The world has definitely changed for the worst.
@@solskjaer1195 -I understand what you mean but sometimes things are offensive to some people and those people have the right to say they don't like it when something is "sexist or stupid stuff like that" so that stupid things like sexism can be shown up and hopefully dissipated. :-)
@@NOWtheband Anything genuinely offensive or anything to do with race I totally agree. I'm talking about stupid PC for PC sake stuff. Like not celebrating Xmas in certain places because it could be offensive to non Christians. That kind of shit didn't happen in the 90's. Take me back.
It's too bad they didn't hit it big in America. Grunge and other genres were big, Nirvana, R.E.M., Van Halen, Journey, Madonna, many other acts were popular. In the 80s the Brits came over again and left their stamp on the music scene. I think they just didn't have the right management.
Napster and downloading fu*ked everything up. Before, bands put out an album, and there was a buzz, like did you hear the latest record by the Frogz? It's great, especially this, this, and that track. Now it's just a list of tracks, maybe they're just numbers and the songs don't even have names. Plus, before, you had to expend a little bit of effort to go down to the record store, but now you can get anything you want in five minutes.
I don't know, I think it's good for the listeners to have all this accessibility. And I don't agree with this all "albums are dead" thing. Sure, this might be true for some artists of some genres, but it's definility not true for the vast majority of artists and bands. I could cite to you just a few albums that came out this year, that are not just a collection of songs. But yeah, things are way more delluted
