Well, I started off somewhat skeptical as I've never been a big fan of the superhero genre before, but I might have already been converted now that I'm halfway through the season. The Flash is a super fun ride so far! I hope you enjoyed my reaction to the first episode. If you did, we're already on episode 12 over on www.Patreon.com/Robinoyo! Go and check it out! Thanks for watching :)
For continuity purposes they probably should have told you to start with arrow and based on what you said you like, you’d definitely like that show plus it comes first in their universe, the arrowverse.
If you do decide to continue there are crossover events with other shows. Those other shows being Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and the one you’re watching 1. Legends of today/Legends of yesterday 2. Invasion 3. Crisis on Earth X 4. Crisis of infinite Earths
I tried to find My Hero Academia Dub, the best anime by far, on your channel, but I couldn’t, so I highly recommend it. I also highly recommend the Harley Quinn (DC) animated TV show, especially if you liked the Joker movie. Right from ten seconds in it just blew me away! Since it’s mostly from from the point of view of the villains, it deconstructs the very genre that Flash it. Try 3 episodes of Harley Quinn and 4 of My Hero Academia. DUB, just to see if you like them.
I can not describe how good it is to see so many people watching this show for the first time lately. So refreshing to remind myself what hooked me on the series 10 years ago, season 1 was so good
One of the few shows I've stopped due to quality issues and that hurt me so much to do! Re-experiencing the first few seasons it going to be so nostalgic EDIT: Just finished the reaction and I have a big smile plastered on my face!
@@supercyclone8342 I managed to struggle through all the way until season 9, which I just watched a couple scattered episodes of. Might be a touch dramatic but watching the quality steadily drop was like growing apart from a close friend, watching them start to hang out with the wrong people and such.
32:42 This. This was the moment. The exact moment. That The Flash became my favorite superhero of all time. I remember it crystal clear. I was in awe. My mouth was wide open. And in my mind, all those years ago, I went, "Yeah. This is my guy. He's so cool."
It sound ridiculous but yeah, rat poison actually works by thinning the blood - I was a paramedic for seven years, and I’ve seen it firsthand in someone who ate food laced with rat poison. Basically, it inhibits the production of vitamin K, which prevents blood clots from forming. So if Oliver was injected with something that forced his blood to start clotting in the veins, an anticoagulant is exactly what you want to counteract the poison. Some ambulances might have actual medications on board that could prevent this problem, but Barry relied on his biochemical knowledge to MacGyver a solution.
@@NK-dt1kp for people who haven't been traumatized by life.. and for younger audiences yes :) and flash is much worse FOR ME PERSONALLY.. just cheaper quality and drop offs. along with bad cgi and tons of loopholes, poor dialogue half of the time.. smart the other half.. Barry literally forgets he is a superhero and stops to talk to people like 80% of the time and people get hurt cus of it lol. As a cinema enjoyer and creator.. i could go on for months about how Both.. Arrow AND Daredevil.. just season 1 of each of those tops all seasons of Flash.. from a cinema/producer standpoint. Flash is the best.. "Family Friendly" ..Superhero show.
I got the chance to work on this show for the first few seasons as a background detective. The cast and crew were A1. Don't take it too seriously and just enjoy it.
@6:07 This is my first time here. I admire your courage in stepping out of your comfort zone and keeping an open mind for this DC show. You picked a good one to start with. The people who worked on this show gave their all and I hope you will come to see that. Now, on with the show.. ✌️😎👍
If you haven't already, you are going to want to watch Arrow. Even if you don't react to it, I would binge the first 2 seasons and then watch Flash S1 concurrently with Arrow S3 for continuity purposes. There are crossover episodes that will make more sense if you do. Also, since you stated you enjoyed Batman, Arrow is the most Batman-esque show that has been allowed to be done on TV since the campy Batman show from the 60's. By that, I mean it's more comic accurate than cartoonish accurate.
At the end it showed Harry actually walking, while everyone thinks he's paralysed, but he also was looking at a newspaper article from the future where the Flash goes missing, just to clarify the meaning of that scene
This show has two "stand-ins" for Central City. The series was shot in Vancouver B.C, but the aerial establishment shots are of Portland, OR( since this is where I live, I caught on to this pretty early.)
If you want a good laugh while also learning why the first few seasons are bad, watch Madvocate videos on them. I love this show, rewatched it many times, but man the writing and inconsistencies really suck lol
@@artemis8396madvocates videos are lame. Just trashes the show. You can nitpick almost any show or movie’s writing if you look hard enough. Flash had some obvious mess ups, but madvocate videos are to literally ruin the show for anyone thinking about watching it. And I’m an OG fan since it premiered. I know the highs and lows of the show, and stayed loyal through the whole thing. Madvocate is not a fan and never has been. His intentions leave people not wanting to watch the good parts of the show
the interesting part of this season of the show is you always know more than the main character so it changes it from a mystery to a thriller you arent trying to figure it out you are watching to find out how barry figures it out. thats the real story
Arrow has a full season before the start of The Flash and it all ties in together. Id recommend starting that and then continuing further with the Flash
Loved this reaction and I love how good you are at already connecting things just after the first episode. you just got a new fan and I hope to see more of flash
So exciting for you to watch the Arrowverse. I would def recommend at some point syncing up the shows as you watch because the Arrowverse shows do crossovers into each other, and Arrow completed two seasons before Flash started, so things could get spoiled as you go.
Just as someone who loved this fact about the show, John Wesley Shipp, the actor that plays Henry Allen (Barry's father), played The Flash in the 90s live action show
I love that you're giving this show a chance. Definitely one of my favorites of the past. I remember looking forward to it every week. Also I love that you show so much of it on your channel. There's a lot of reaction channels that talk over important parts, and only show about 12 minutes of the entire video so I'm really looking forward to watching this with you. I really like your commentary and your realism❤ you got a new sub from me
9:10 i kinda miss this real fun forensics part of the show. i think they minimized that part also IM IN LOVE WITH IRIS!!!!!. she was on screen during my comment.
If you like the Nolan Batman films, I'd definitely recommend Arrow especially since it sets this show up as well. This Barry was introduced in the second season of that show and they will continue to be somewhat interconnected.
I love the music in this show and fun fact the actor who plays Barry's dad also played the Flash in the 90's along with mark Hamill who played another DC villain who wasnt the Joker, he voiced Joker in the DC cartoons and Arkham games with Kevin conroy as batman
"ignorant is the source of prejudice and assumption make an ass out of you, its good to be open minded and give anything a chance that's how you grow as a person" - MJS
I would be interested in seeing a reaction to daredevil in the future. Think u would love it. It’s more grounded and had complex themes and characters with amazing action sequences.
The arrow starts off as a vigilante who is willing to kill. I don't know how true to the comics that is You're catching his arc still relatively early in his series
I’m slowly getting through season 9 of the Flash for the first time and I can’t wait to rewatch the first season again. I really hope you enjoy the Flash!
Man I wish you could’ve watched it when all the cameos and stuff were happening! The arrowverse was a whole time period by itself! Even though some parts and shows weren’t the best, still miss the team up.
Both Flash and Arrow are really fun shows, for the first few seasons. They both fall into soap opera territory, so I never finished either, but I really enjoyed the seasons I watched!
Because you like the Batman movies. I believe you might like Arrow. It’s a lot more grounded than the Flash and really goes deeper with the mentality of the character
I just happened to rewatch season one and it's pretty epic if you stick with it. One of my favorite aspects is the interaction between the characters, especially at Star Labs. It's cool how they treat Barry as just a normal guy, like one of the gang as opposed to putting him on a pedestal.
Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl as well as Legends of Tomorrow are all tied together and have crossovers. Arrow came first then Flash and Supergirl and then Legends.
That conversation between Flash and Arrow. I can say that Arrow is a darker show than the Flash. Both are a good time. This is making me want to do a rewatch of both.
Your gonna miss all the cool shit they do because you don’t know flashes lore, but I also didn’t know anything about flash when I started and I fell in love with it and it made me resherch flash and fell in love with it even more cause I rewatch it and understood it all 1000 percent more
Please read this, this show will show you things and it will be super confusing but they later make so much sense, like the beginning with the mom will make so much sense the more you watch
As I’m still on the intro you may have said it but if you decide to continue you may want to watch in order and start with arrow so that way when it comes to crossovers and stuff you don’t spoil the other shows for yourself.
Everyone can agree that the show gets bad after season 4 or 5 the acting gets bad cgi writing EVERYTHING so no we’re not going to want him to watch the whole thing because he won’t like it and it will ruin the show for him
Definitely agree, the first few seasons had flaws to. But the later seasons lacked everything that made the first few seasons good. The cgi i don't really care and didn't really notice a difference. But the plot and the main villains just get much worse.
I fell in love with the show the first episode I watched and even tho theres been some dull moments once in a while, it still did not disappoint me. Im still not even on season 8 or 9
ok, scrolling trough your comments you know that Barry's dad is played by the original Flash from 1990... This all started with The Arrow, this series is the first to spin off Arrow's success. You will need to catch up on Arrow before the first crossover.
This is for Robinoyo Reacts! This is long, but I think it’s helpful for future reference 🤝 As someone who’s watched The Flash since it premiered back in 2014, I recommended you go the BlindWave channels route (not like they came up with this concept but) and don’t read comments. There are a couple different types of people who know of The Flash you gotta be aware if you decide to read comments lol: 1. The type like me, who understands this show had highs and lows throughout all 9 seasons, just like any other show of course, but can appreciate the best parts of the show. Just enjoying reactions to the show we liked watching, because it’s always cool to watch people enjoy the best moments of the show. 2. The Flash lover type, who loves the show and will defend even things they can’t explain. You’ll notice things for yourself. 3. The Flash haters who probably never watched the show. These are the people who recently, only after 9-10 years of this show being out, now get all of their talking points fed to them by a youtuber named "Madvocate" who basically did a series on why The Flash is bad to him, which Inspired a few other creators to make similar videos, which in my opinion, only caught on because you can say The Flash is an easy target, in the sense tha there isn’t really any other show like it, especially with the themes and concepts it deals with for the story of Barry Allen. They’ll usually try to discourage anyone from watching the show, by leaving the same comments as to why it’s "bad" or mistakes the show may have made along the way, to what I can only think, is to feel smart and edgy I guess, or like they’re saying something new to amuse people like Madvocate does. I promise you, it’s all the same overly used, and repetitive talking points that I even used whilst watching the show, because I thought it was funny to nit pick a show I really liked. Not to discourage myself and others from watching it. I don’t know, I guess they want to feel like intellectuals, or like they’re the RU-vid channel "Cinema Sins" or something, so they go out of their way to clown on the show a lot. And are literally just sometimes wrong about the characters and story, because like I said, half the time they didn’t watch the show for themselves, and even if you correct them, they still try to have more "gotcha" moments. It’s so weird. And it’s quite literally only because Madvocate made his videos, and they found his approach amusing. I watched them all I’m pretty sure. He said nothing no one who’s watched the show hasn’t thought of really, it’s just whether you choose to suspend disbelief as much as you need to if you want to enjoy it or not, or if you’re just not an extreme nit picker. If he never made those videos, which he literally said he only made for views, this type of person wouldn’t have made number 3. But recently it just became trendy for some people to try and hate on the show now. It’ll blow over soon when another show gets the short end of the stick. Happens all the time. And trust me, the haters do not acknowledge or even try to appreciate the good parts of this show, or what this show did for the superhero genere and DC. Which there are many good parts, which is why it was popular in the first place. But trust me, they’ll just say there aren’t any, because they’re like Madvocate drones, doing his will I guess. Though I suggest checking out Madvocate for yourself and not just going off my word, after you finish some seasons. Because his videos do of course have spoilers. Not even hating on the dude, but the continuous regurgitation of his talking points from his videos under literally any Flash video, only now that the show is over with, genuinely gets ridiculous to keep seeing at a certain point. 4. The spoilers. Some fans are just so eager, that they can’t help themselves from directly or indirectly spoiling things for reactors. Which isn’t just a The Flash fan thing. It literally happens with pretty much every show a reactor reacts to. If you make a comment about a character in the reaction, they’ll say "he doesn’t even know how wrong he is lol" basically spoiling it. Which is why I suggest the Blind Wave approach. If you want of course, it’s your channel. I just notice it’s fun for reactors to interact with the community, but ya know, ya always run that risk of spoilers in the comments. And Season 1 is great to watch with no spoilers. And last but not least, I know it sounds like I’m making everything sound super serious about the surrounding audience of the Flash, but it’s not LOL. This comment could’ve been made about pretty much any show ever, because there are always different types of audiences for any show lol. This was more of just a heads up to understand any confusion you may run into, because I want you to actually enjoy the show, and how you see fit. Don’t even let my comment ruin anything for you. Just enjoy the show and watch it if you want to. Like I said, I’m an OG fan, so I’ve kept up with the community. The actual community is generally pretty chill, fun, not toxic, people still make content about the show surprisingly actually (guess not too surprisingly, because it only recently ended) and it’s just your average community, for the DC CW shows as a whole. Only a few beefs about characters lol. Just best to avoid the crazies. Your attitude towards the show now is all you need going into it. Ignore the noise, and don’t worry about anything you weren’t already worried about. You seem like a dude looking to enjoy some good content, keep your same enthusiasm, interest, and excitement 👍🏽 Of course I have my biases, but I also keep it real and don’t try to make any show I watch seem like the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever (except Avatar: The Last Airbender. It’s the best cartoon ever in my opinion). I definitely have my favorite and least favorite parts of The Flash, and am always honest about The Flash to anyone getting ready to watch it. Season 1 is definitely good superhero TV though. My favorite Flash season. I just take away the good parts from The Flash like I do any show, and see it for what it’s trying to be, if I like it enough. Always enjoy the good parts. Also, I do recommend watching Arrow. Solid superhero show. Only 1 bad season out of 8 in my opinion, and how they turned around from that season is legendary. Seasons 1,2, are some of my favorite Arrow seasons, and season 1 of Flash is my favorite Flash season for so many reasons. Sorry this was so long if you actually read it
You should check out Arrow. It is really good and is actually the 1st appearance of Barry. This led into the Flash. Both shows are great in there own ways.
2:24 If you are more interested in DC stuff you should look their animated movies. DC animated movies are far superior to their Theatrical live action movies. I recommend “Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox”.
I know some other people have mentioned it, but I can't recommend Arrow enough. It's an even better show than The Flash and you want to get the connections to The Flash anyways.
Flash's regeneration is exclusively due to his accelerated metabolism and the speedforce (side effect of the speed). It's not a thing that is universal to meta-powers.
Two other super hero shows you might check out is The Punisher and Daredevil. Specifically, the Punisher is more gritty than you'd expect. Both are character driven and well done.
(After reaction) I like your reactions, comments, and assessments of the story showing interest in what happens next. I am subscribed now. Thank you for trying this show. ✌️😎👍
The arrow is another phenomenal series! It is definitely one I think you should check out if you get time. And these two shows coincide with each other quite often
I just found your channel and this video and I have to say this was an amazing reaction and I hope you get hook enough to watch the entire show and the Arrowverse!
remember the flash can react to lighting but he cant react to some bullets shot right infront of him but can react to bullets shot behind him that touch his neck also can move people out of the way in a blink but most times just tells them to run instead also also has power shutoff cuffs in season 3 that he doesnt use cos he stops to talk to the bad guys instead ....
Absolutely he should stop after s4. Honestly, he should stop after season 3. The show is garbage after season 3 and turned into a disgrace by time it ended
if you want context go watch Arrow episode "The Scientist" as Barry Allen is first introduced in that show he stays in Arrow as a series regular until this scene over here
When people start watching this straight up, i'm always conflicted. I personally enjoy this series more than Arrow (at least at first, the later seasons of BOTH shows suck), but this is a direct spinoff of Arrow so they are going to intersect and you're going to have no context for the other show (and shows when they crossover with other ones down the road).
When I was collecting comic books back in the ‘80s, the flash was my least favorite superhero. That changed with the original show. He is now one of my favorites
If you have trouble connecting with the characters in superhero movies, then your more likely to like superhero TV shows, since they have a LOT more time to develop their characters
I def don't like where this show ended up, but to me the first four to five seasons of this show was AMAZING and I look forward to watching it with you,
You should also watch Arrow. The show is amazing in the first couple of seasons. After that it's kind of back and forth with good and bad seasons. Same goes for this show tbh
id say just remember this is a tv show so the budget is alot less then movies so some things look bad and or silly sometimes but the show is way better then the dumpster fire that is the movie version of the flash
Ok just a quick note, I haven’t seen the video yet so you might have addressed it, but if you plan to do the dc shows please do arrow. These “arrow verse” shows are all interconnected and have crossovers and an established timeline. So if you do arrow, season 1 of the flash runs concurrently season 3 of arrow so it may be worth taking a break from the flash during or after season 1 to catch up and avoid big spoilers. You’ll be fine for flash spoilers since it’s ahead but you’ll be catching so many arrow spoilers from the flash
if you want the cool parkour stuff watch it is really good at that. also as a win win it is related to the flash as you see Oliver Queen the protagonist of that show in this episode and they crossover on occassion :D
The Flash and arrow have a similar dichotomy to Superman and Batman. Batman and Arrow are nighttime heroes and are feared by the villains and treated as vigilantes, where Superman and Flash are daytime heroes who are admired and seen as forces of goodness and hope.
PLEASE WATCH ARROW FIRST, YOU WILL SPOIL A LOT FOR YOURSELF, The Flash is part of a superhero TV show Universe called the Arrowverse, and this series started 3 seasons into Arrow's series... but do what you want, I recommend watching everything so you're not confused of stuff in the future
