Nobody has and will be able to cause a world saving event, so this is just an exaggeration of the thing that happens in reality. People just need to be people and people have tons of responsibilities that are not “saving the world” aka your job or that one hobby you have with the boys. It’s not literal

This is like The Boys in terms of being a very realistic portrayal of what would happen if be Heroes were real. The only difference is that this somehow feels even more realistic than The Boys.
