Some of the owners of this truck actually cross the Delaware River at Easton on either MP 77.3 I-78 bridge or MP 337.9 US-22 bridge. Be aware that the US-22 Delaware River bridge is used for the annual Thanksgiving Game day foot traffic
Even though I'm not out around the York area, that's one thing I do love about our state. It's Mack heaven for sure. However I'm more partial to R models, probably because a lot of the family used them exclusively. Interestingly though I saw an old B model hauling a coal bucket on 22 going through Blairsville past the old Wyotech/Valtech a few months back, she was a beauty.
Nice truck. I only drove 1 mack in my life,it was an 86 with the 350 maxodine and it had a 13 speed eaton transmission...nice but I never had the pleasure of driving a super liner with the v8
correct me if I'm wrong but I've got an issue of American trucker with that truck on the cover the title was Bullish Mack I remember that truck had a 350 paired up with a 9 speed did you drop the v8 in later
Mike Devine yes the truck was in a corn field with no motor for over 10 years. the present owner restored the truck with a v8. still the same 9 speed transmission.
He runs a 87 mack r model with a 350 and a 12 speed. He also has a 91 rd that he put a r model hood on and it also has a 350 with a 12 speed. And then he has an 01 rd with a 460 and an 8 speed. I might have a video laying around that I could edit and post.
