Christopher Reeve made kids born after 1975 believe superman really existed,he was born to play the part.Henry Cavill is closer than anybody since in appearance but the way reeve was able to completely change personalitys back and forth between goofy Clark and his charisma and seriousness as superman was incredible acting.

He was a classic actor, who also showed class, charm, warmth, love, and kindness to others. Even as he faced such a serious injury and new way of life, he didn't give up. He chose to use his tragedy to help others with injuries like his, by raising money for neurological research. He touched many hearts with his strength. Now THAT'S what a REAL Superman is all about. RIP Christopher and Dana. Loved and missed by many.

Christopher Reve is the real one, it's not only the actor, it's the whole thing, the rythm of the movie, the smooth flights, the brilliant colors of the suit, even the Cape has the original yellow symbol, the music, we never thought of superman as an alien. Otoh, it was the most successful saga in history and they should stayed on that exact context and. Nowadays they overuse digital effects and that dont capture the flights as they did in the 80s, now they look like video games.

Christopher Reeve was a talented, Julliard trained actor that emitted that honest, decent, do-the-right-thing vibe that fit Superman perfectly. He also was just a big guy naturally. He wasn't all puffed up like a bodybuilder. And his face looked exactly like it was right out of the comics. That movie was huge when it hit in 1978.

Christopher Reeve was truly gifted and charismatic. With the Donner cut of Superman II, an amazing rehearsal scene was released where he attempts to reveal his identity to Lois. In a matter of seconds, the shy reporter becomes very confident and even more charismatic. Even better than in the movies, one uncut shot, absolutely fascinating!

Christopher Reeve, in life, was a true SUPERMAN. And as for cinema, he's the greatest SUPERMAN of all time: The greatest reference. Tom Welling deserved at least one movie, in the SUPERMAN franchise, because he's second on that list, and he will forever be recognized as SUPERMAN too, and that's an honor. I can't see any other actors near them.

Agreed! I don't like the new dark Superman. Superman is supposed to represent moral goodness, wholesomeness and integrity, the perfect man. No one did this like Christopher Reeve. Richard Donner's Superman movie defined the character forever! :) ...Though in real life it is Jesus Christ who is the true "superman", the greatest man who ever walked the earth, totally pure, and full of righteousness and truth.
