Glasses are one thing, but I guess it's how he carries himself as Clark. Different hair, being all dorky and weak that makes anyone doubt that he is Superman. But damn I did not expect to see Superman having a family with kids, this series changed all that... Nicely done imo.
Well we know the teenagers part is true. He had so much trouble dealing with his cousin, we should have known what it would be like to have to deal with teenage children that are his.
Don't, make them work for that. Like if they gets a A in maths they get their tablet fixed, not even the bike below B+. Hate me all you want, but you will see the difference pretty soon affect them pretty positively from this.
I've always seen it as Superman having the telepathic ability to impose his will on others. In this case, he can suppress people's suspicions in him being Superman. In the 70s movies, it's very apparent as no one pays attention to him. They are always bumping into him. Ignoring him. Knocking his stuff out of his hand and not stopping to help or even say sorry. Etc. That's not people being rude... That's Superman unknowingly making it happen. He just doesn't know he has it. It's his wish to be unseen and to have a normal life outside of the suit. When he takes his glasses off and reveals his face, that's him letting his guard down and then suddenly people are like, "I always knew there was something wierd about you, but I could never put my finger on it." If anyone disagrees, just look at what he does to Lois at the end of Superman 2 where he somehow hypnotizes her to forget Clark and Superman are one in the same and she goes back to ignoring him almost completely. On the flipside, consider the fact that there is a god flying around with the ability to destroy the planet and everyone celebrates him as a hero, except for certain people like Batman, and Lex who are either resistant or immune to his telepathy through sheer force of will. Batman knows Superman is Clark Kent for example... I don't know. It's how I am able to see these scenes and be like, "Yah makes sense."
No, I mean there are Comic versions of him having Kryptonian Hypno Glasses and in one Comic Versions he can shape shift his face but both versions are just to far fetched for the Life Action Adaption and no he himself did never had Hypno Powers it was always his Kryptonian Glasses. Since than they have been using the more Grounded but yet least believable or atleast the more challenging way for Clark, is just him no Hypno or Shapeshift, just a change to a Dorky Personality with Normal Glasses, cause that was the more grounded Disguise for Live Action adaptations. You can also noticed how the Kids didn't believed him after taking off his Glasses, only after showing his Powers, meaning they all did believed his Persona. I know for some a simple Personality change with a pair of normal Glasses might be unbelievable, but I'd say it does work on some People I know alot of people who are just bad with Faces, and one other thing why they wouldn't go with Clarks Hypnosis Glasses, well it's kinda fucked to Hypno your own Family. You should check out Superman Birthright Issue-3, it captures his Disguise pretty well.
The amazing thing about that scene is that Clark at no point singles 1 child out over the other. Even after the if 1 of you had powers and 1 of you didn't line. He goes back to the only way you survive yesterday is if one of you is like me. Jordan immediatley goes all CW teenager about it.
What I got from that scene was that Clark didn't have to say it. Without meaning to, both parents seem to broadcast their "preference" or the seemingly more favored child. Children can sense that stuff. Clark and Lois confirm his feelings. It is kind of sad actually, but more interesting for the story.
Possibly both, his world at that moment was thrown on a loop. His particular reaction is normal because as a teenager he is experiencing a multitude of emotions and then now the possibility of powers as well as realizing he's half Alien.
These kids are loco...if I found out my dad was superman 🦸♂️ I'd be hype😆 But, my kid is 10 and already the teenage hormones are starting to emerge...if this is what I have to look forward to I'm gonna need to be super something 😆
You said the magic word...teenager. If they were 6 or 7, they’d be all pumped about it. “Superman’s my dad? AWESOME!!” But these guys are teenagers, so they realized their father’s not who they thought he was, and they felt betrayed. They found out why their father wasn’t there, and they found out that they were half-alien. That’s why they weren’t “hype”.
But at the same time realising you are half human and half alien. That would actually sort of freak me out to find out I'm half alien all of a sudden.. Lol
@@imranbecks lol I'm totally digging it, are you kidding me? Back in high middle and high school I was the kid obsessed with extraterrestrials. I was watching every show, film and documentary. Area 51 was my favourite game in the arcade at work🤣 To find out that I'm half alien....I would've been on cloud 9😆😆
"Hey kid we represent the council and imperial whatnot we want you to come with us in our shiny starship full of royal clothes and stuff." "Cool can my mom come?" "Ah s***, I only brought a $20. Didn't have time to visit an ATM on the way. Sorry kiddo."
I've seen like scene like ten times it's so well done. Also, I never looked at it this way but someone pointed it out and it makes sense, he's really just showing off in this scene lol.
@@thefoeofdrip1184 Same here. I guess doing it this early sets the tone for the series on how their kids and the family handle the fact that they know his real identity. The challenges and moral dilemma they would face would be explored throughout the season. Which imo only makes this show fresh and original. Very interesting indeed.
I HAVE GOT TO WATCH THIS EPISODE!!!!!! I watched an episode of Prodigal Son thinking it was going to be a new episode because it said so on the TV Guide Listings website, and it turned out to be a repeat. I'll catch it this weekend. Superman and Lois looks like it's going to be a good start.
For everybody who keeps wondering why the kids don't recognize their dad is Superman.... Two things. 1. The Celebrity Complex.... Basically if you had a person who lived next door to you and they looked like a famous celebrity.... Would you instantly think that person was that celebrity OR would you just think they looked like the celebrity? You would go with the latter. Also keep in mind there's a scene in this episode where the boys are talking about their dad and they mention that he can't put the Christmas tree up without falling while doing it. 2. Superman looks like any other dark haired white man with an athletic build. Wanna count how many of those guys are just walking around in the world? Go ahead. We'll wait while you do that. 😂😂😂😂
Angst teen, big fucking whoop..still don't understand the hate of this scene...it's not dumb writing...they are acting on emotion..you know when people act emotionally sometimes they don't think rationally..seen plenty of times IN REAL LIFE!!!
We only told you now because of puberty. If 1 or both of you have powers and aren't careful you could shoot a hole through your sock, the wall, and maybe the family pet. Lotion doesn't work for us it's why I live on a farm. That barrel of tractor hydraulic oil works the best. And if you get a girl someday your pull out game will have to be strong.
@@Batman-iy4re their twins what are you talking about i said Thor and Loki aren't twins the point i was trying to make is that i wouldn't be surprised if they decided to do a similar storyline to Thor and Loki's. i hope they don't do that because its a stupid idea. and i have seen the whole episode.
Really- GOTHAM. You may have heard of it? Time to binge it. I know, let me stop you- it was Batman, The Formative Years- but it was extremely well-done, entertaining, awesome performances, and brilliant production values.
Both of their kids had to be boys... and they had to be the same age as well, this show is going to have a lot of crazy things going on because of them
For those who don't know, Clark's glasses are actually made of kryptonian glass which hypnotizes people into thinking that he is different than Superman...
I really like this series and the Characters, but I gonna be honest Jordan's Tantrum kinda made me wish Clark was Homelander for a Second. His Tantrum felt like one of those unnecessary ones where he just threw a Tantrum because the Situation called for one.
I feel like Jordan's anger was reasonable. The show implied he felt the "alien side" for a long time making him feel he was crazy which put him on pills.
I dont know..... I dont give a dammm that his kids did not recognize his dad is superman until he open his glass ....but the emotional skrip make me forget the logicc 😅😅😅😅
When Jordan all like you didn’t want it any other way! And he is like your an awful father Clark- JORDAN Johnathan- really quietly leave us alone! Me- like hahaha I get the angry and but I harsh boys
I can understand why he wouldn't tell his kids he was Superman. Can you imagine? bunch of kids bragging about their dads, and these numb skulls start blurting out their dad is Superman xD But also, you gotta tell them at some point. Wouldn't want them accidently killing someone with laser eyes or super strength xD
Seriously what do you expect That guy never took off those glasses to discipline those kids, look at the way he is talk'n Lucky if the guy isn't on drugs
*Wow!* What *big cry babies* they are! I would so *stoked* to found out my dad is *Superman!* Which means I'm half *Kryptonian* so I too have *god-like powers and abilities!* How awesome would that be! (Fyi... For whatever reason *half-human/kryptonians* are far more powerful than normal *kryptonians* exposed to yellow sun light)
It’s reasonable. Imagine if your perfect twin brother had super powers and you didn’t even tho you have the exact same dna. Imagine your parents telling you that the way you’ve been thinking is wrong only to find out they’ve been lying to you and you’ve been right the whole time. If Jordan didn’t have powers and John did Jordan would very easily become a villain.
