He clearly never met Joseph Biden, Obama, Clinton family, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Bill De Blasio, and Nancy Pelosi. They're leaders and kneel very quickly.... Just sayin....
@scruffnutz I loved her since I was a young man in the 80s. Back in a time when the America at least seemed like a good place to call home. People know what was right and called out wrong when they saw it.
"I am General Zod, your ruler. Yes,today begins a new order. Your lands, your pocessions, your very lives will be given in tribute to me,General Zod. In return for your obedience, you will enjoy my generous protection. In other words, you will be allowed to live.":):) Classic!
I remember Terence Stamp talking about one of the more subtle ways he wanted to show Zod regarding everyone he met as being completely beneath him, was to have him deliberately not quite look them directly in the face, he does it a few times with different characters & it's brilliant. The one, true Zod.
Terence Stamp was utterly superb in this film....one detail, at 3.11 I smiled as i noticed his natural, Bow, Cockney accent, crept in ....if you DARE!!. What a wonderful yet low profile actor he is...
3:01 I love how General Zod hasn't even seen Superman in the flesh, but just the very IDEA of some 'superman' defying him, standing up to him, putting him in his place is enough to send him into an emotional tailspin of rage lol Stamp was perfect in this movie.
@@productivestruggle9489 It's always hilarious how Zod loses his nerve and Superman outsmarts him again. When I first saw the movie, I couldn't help but smile when Superman tricked him into thinking he had lost all his powers. Terence Stamp REALLY delivered as Zod. This movie would never have felt as epic without him. True, movies need strong heroes but they also need an equally memorable villain and Stamp almost stole the show.
Teremce Stamp should have won an Academy Award for this. He goes all the way in. This whole thing does not work if he's not hardcore all the way as Zod.
3:00 Terence Stamp can't maintain his slightly posh Zod accent when he has to show anger, instead reverts back to his London accent! "Oooo is this Supaman? Supaman! Come ter me! Cor blimey guvna! You bleedin slaaaaaag!"
Yes, you'd think he'd make an effort. He sounds more like a costermonger advertising his blood oranges than the most evil man in the universe. I suppose nobody could tell the difference and they all moved on when they filmed that.
@0:37, Clifton James. He was a peace officer in 'Live and Let Die', 'The Man With the Golden Gun', 'Silver Streak', and 'Superman II' just for starters.
Skipped one of my favorite lines. "This Superman is nothing of the kind, I've discovered his weaknesses". "He cares, he actually cares for these Earth creatures". Ersa: "Like pets"? Zod: "I suppose so".
Even though Terence was in the first Superman film for only a few minutes, he shone in it, especially for the defiant speech he gives Marlon Brando: *"You will bow down before me! First you, and then one day, your heirs!"* So, technically, that was his comeback film. But *"Superman II"* was his full on comeback. Gave gravitas to a character that was nothing like the version in the DC Comics. Terence Stamp made that character better.
I love the fact that despite the fact he's conquered another planet ( earth ) Zod becomes immediately disinterested and bored at just how easy it was to conquer and immediately wants a challenge .
Terence stamp nails this character. He's the first actor that came to mind when they were making the first X-Men movie to play Magneto He would have been perfect for that role.
2013 zod: an evil alien military leader that wants to bring his race back 70s-80s zod: a weird alien in a robe with different powers that acts like he owns everything
I think you need to add the scene where they are banished to the Phantom Zone. "You will bow down before me Jor-El! Both you... and one day...your heirs!"
Terence has said he was at an ashram for several years prior to filming this, where he and all other attendees were required to be "present" and aware at all times, and that he just used that awareness and present-ness in playing Zod. He didn't worry about making him evil, or anything like that. If you look at some of his scenes, you can kind of sense that and see that.
Lol it's how both Zod's minions, Ursa and Non kept trying to impress him with their feats. Meanwhile Zod was just either bored, or highly unimpressed... 😂
Non was basically a childlike mute with a low IQ. Ursa was pretty hot though. Zod was interesting but had a pathetic god complex, his only ambition seemed to be wanting everyone to worship him.
I included it just for that second bit. Sounds like he's having a mini-stroke 🤪 p.s. every great movie villain has to yell "Fools!" at some point in the film
I could never ignore, that the 3 villains were only supposed to have the same powers as Superman, but yet Zod displayed telekinetic powers by using his hands to move ppl and objects, without touching them. They never explained how he was able to do that.
