SUPERMAN IV QUEST FOR PEACE 30 YEARS ANNIVERSARY!
This is the main entry on the series videos on my proposed edit for Superman IV now called SUPERMAN TRIUMPHANT.
My passion to update Superman IV is based on my presumption that despite of many faults Superman IV has the potential of being a far better sequel than superman III. For one thing S-IV was intended to be a serious version, direct continuation of the first two films. It has all the original casts back with the recurring original villain Lex Luthor.
For continuity it seems obvious that Chris Reeves Superman series which began with a runaway nuclear missiles should end --as Chris Reeve suggested--with Superman getting involved with the global political issue of nuclear warfare.
Personally I believe that the sub-plot of "Quest for Peace" is more significant than most fans realized. The story of Superman wanting to save humanity from its imminent destruction (due to nuclear war) has an uncanny similarity to his father's very own efforts save his people and planet Krypton. Thus, interestingly not only that this story comes into a full circle but like the first movie it once again strengthens "Christ-like Savior concept" which made the first movie successful.
As I stress SM-IV is an incomplete film and unlike Superman II there is no extra "Donner-Cut footage" to improve Superman IV. But being an incomplete film it instead provides fans an opportunity to complete it. Using scenes from Superman III, and today's technology in animation and video editing and most importantly creative inputs from fans.
Three years ago using my old account Macabago I made simple campaign in RU-vid to come up with a hybrid Superman III & IV. Today with my new MacBook I'm still working on my own version. This series aims to show what I have accomplish so far. I admit with my workload and studies its taking me forever but I promised myself to upload something particularly on this occasion.
