I think the "Superman the Movie"(1978) was the best of them. Lex is very clever to fool Supes into opening the lead box, himself to his own demise. Christopher Reeve really sells it, too.
"Luthor"wasn't too happy..when"Ms.Tessmacher"saved "Superman's life by removing"The green Kryptonite"necklace..and tossing it down the drain..and he saved the citizens of New Jersey and California and "Lois" and "Ms.Tessmacher's" mom. And he captured "Luthor" and "Otis"and turned them over to the law.
@@kevinbutler1955NYC No, Lex wasn't very happy...In fact, in a deleted scene, he had a reluctant Otis lowering her by rope to be devoured by his pit bulls while he played "You must've been a beautiful baby" on the piano. Fortunately, Superman arrived just in time. His first line after setting her down before "arresting" Lex was priceless. "By the way, Ms. Tessmacher, your Mother says 'Hello'."
I remember when i’ve seen it with by brother very first time- we were shouting too close the box!!! It’s a very powerful scene although very short yet so powerful.
I think in Cavill's case, he was able to recover from inhaling the stuff purely because "Man of Steel" showed him able to fight through the World Engine's effects to stop it. I presume something that's literally recreating the environment of Krypton is going to have much more drastic effects than a lump of rock.
I love the fact that they hired Annette O'Toole to play Martha,Clark's earth mother in Smallville. Her going from being Lana Lang in Superman ||| to being his adopted earth mom was complete genius.
Ultimate proof that comic book stories are the modern version of ancient Greek myths and legends - Kryptonite has come to replace Achilles' Heel as the go-to metaphor for vulnerability. Even people who've never read a comic book or seen a Superman movie know what kryptonite is and use the word as a short-hand for any manner of weakness. Take that, Scorsese!
Other than superman 2, returns is my favourite and the one that had the biggest impact on my childhood and what really got my love for superman to the unhealthy level it is now lol (even have the tattoo to prove it)
It has some good parts, overall it lacked every part to make it great. IMO, Lois was far too young looking/acting, Routh's Clark Kent was not natural like Christopher Reeve's was as it all felt forced (partially because of writing) and they did too much with backstory rewriting. The scenes that were great, were this scene in this video (they ruined it with the plane dramatics afterwards) and the train set scene at the top of my list. As a reiteration of my first point, there are great parts to the movie but overall didn't quite come together. Still a big Superman fan!
Cause Superman Returns feature Superman leaving Earth cause the astronomers found what remains of his homeworld Krypton and he just wanted to check It out and he was gone for a long time. It's a fun movie to watch but In the comics Superman would never leave Earth knowing there are villain's like Lex Luthor Darkseid Mongul and other heavy hitters villain waiting to take over Earth and enslaved the population or just destroy It.
Christopher Reeve’s Superman is soooooooo kind and genuine. He is the one. All the other actors that came after him did an amazing job (accept the superboy show lol) but none of them had what Reeve had, in my opinion he is the best Clark and superman. My second fave Clark is Dean Cain’s for sure. Tom Welling comes after with Brandon Routh. But when it comes to superman I guess after Reeve I have to go with Cavill. Because he is the complete opposite, he is super strong, tough and intimidating, but still looks vulnerable and kind. Each actor plays a better Clark or a better Superman. But Reeve was amazing as both. It’s like Bruce and Batman. To me Michael Keaton was the best Bruce and Batman Haha Almost forgot Tyler. He is a good actor. His Clark and Superman are a bit dark like Henry’s. But he doesn’t have a Superman face and body. His suit is so padded. Anyways, I have nothing against him, still love seeing him on screen.
With much respect to the others that played such an iconic Superman - Christopher Reeve truly embodied the character perfectly! He IS and will always be Superman!
Haven't got around to seeing it, partly due to shenanigans over which streaming service is on in the UK, but I did really like his appearances in Super Girl prior to his own series 👍
As each version goes by u notice how he recovers quicker it from like between Brandon Henry and Tyler all of there supermen bounced back pretty quick from there exposure
Brandon Routh's reaction to Kryptonite was the BEST amongst all Superman movies and also the WORST ! Best in the scene of de-powering Superman. Worst in the scene of lifting a mountain of kryptonite by sheer will force. Here's a better version : 1) Superman should have returned later building a suit from his Fortress. 2) The suit was originally made by Kryptonians to guard against Kryptonite on planet Krypton; so would have worked in this scenario too, 3) But it lacked the ingredients. This was why Kal El went missing, for a visit to Krypton to collect the raw material. 4) By the end of the movie, they would show how the suit got damaged due to tons of kryptonite radiations bombarding on it. Requires more special effects of radiation photons. 5) Finally, as an epilogue, the fragments of the suit would be picked by the yet-to-become Steel. How do you like this new plot ? 🙂
Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to LEAP tall buildings in a single bound... I didn't notice that until my mom pointed it out to me.
@m Woodhouse Thanks for telling me. However green Kryptonite is the type we mostly see. And if it can hurt Superman, then why exactly is that the case?
@@seanrogers9129np when krypton exploded i guess it was a Radioactive crystal witch is green, that fell to earth embedded in the world of krypton, before the explosion of the planet that effects the kryptonian aliens in diffrent ways. The green 1 was from deep in the planet, the white 1 was above ground and safe, red yellow, and gold, were experiments on the white crystals power of krypton. Hense the scientist's the house of EL which chose the symbol S 😀👍
Wellings durability was kind of insane considering he survived having it around his neck for hours hanging in a cornfield...and then being shot with a kryptonite bullet getting into his bloodstream among a 100 other instances throughout the series. But then given his crazy feats on the show and comics surpassing every kther version here not too surprising I suppose.
I guess one could say he was in total shock when the radiation hit him. Up to that point in his life, he never felt pain so his first reaction is to get away from it. I get what you're saying though...i've said the same thing. Close the lid you dummy! LOL

@@killforcefighter7381 nope. Current WB is on critical status after the Batgirl cancellation. They scrapped a lot of projects for better DCEU. So finger crossed whether that will happen or not.
@@EvaCDeere i was talking about the cancelled Batgirl movie that was supposed to happen after The Flash (film). I dont know why the person whom I replied to deleted their comment so you can get the context.
Chris Reeve for the win. The acting the music, the cinematography, the subtlety. I actually liked Brandon Routh but his scene was so over the top and gratuitous. Yes, lets kick him repeatedly like a dog to make the audience feel bad. Pretty transparent approach.

Great compilation of Superman and his deadly encounters with kryptonite. What bothers me is why all the crystals in the Fortress of Solitude didn’t kill him. They would I presume come from the planet as well.
He was the most handsome superman ever cast after Tom Weling---even was more handsome than him....❤ Perfect comic portrayal....👌 I wished to see him more in this costume, wanted more of his superman works back then 2000 era.... I don't know why they did not cast him anymore----that's so SAD & unfortunate... 😢😢
I'm old fashioned and like the original black and white series it was plain cool and sterile. No real ulterior motives just plain and simple and to the good point. 😎😇
Clark is lucky he wasn't exposed to kryptonite during the second through fourth seasons of _The Adventures of Superboy._ During the Gerard Christopher as Clark Kent/Supetboy era, his skin would turn green when he was kryptonite. Clark would have a hard time explaining that away.
Great content and videos. May I ask what gives your videos that theater ambient sound to it? It makes you feel like you're in an old theater watching these clips. Very nice.
Superman couldn't survive being stabbed in the heart with a kryptonite anymore than anyone else could... It makes him weaker than a human, COMPLETELY vulnerable.
When Krypton blew up kryptonite and other fragments also scattered all over the Galaxy on different planets there's all types of colors black red blue green is the one we all know they even gold that's the one that gives humans like us brief of there powers you have any idea what people would do if they had that kind of ability s*** bully would have no meaning😎💯🔥🎚️🎸
