In SUPERMAN & LOIS, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin, “Teen Wolf”) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch, “Grimm”), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever - dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass, “Little Fires Everywhere”) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, “The Peanuts Movie”) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui, “Entourage”), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez, “Graceland”). The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette, “Wander Darkly”). Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh, “Nip/Tuck”) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks, “All American”) enters their lives. The show recieved a bigger budget with a very good VFX company working on it. Why they decided to do this i don't know. Personally i feel like its pretty insulting that shows like The Flash are still left with mediocre visuals when The CW has the means to pull this off.

I'm happy that this is focusing on a mature and married Superman/Clark with kids. We always see the origins and formative years; but I always wanted to see this version of Superman (been in the game for years, has 2/3rds of his powers mastered, married with the one and only Lois Lane and a brood of kids that are about to hit kryptonian puberty!)

for people who haven't seen supergirl: 1. They had their children in Argo city bc it could've been dangerous for lois or maybe they changed that and lois gave birth under a red sun or something like that, but before crisis they had jonathan in argo city 2. It's not in the future, the crisis changed everything either they had them 13-15 years ago or they grew quickly (like wanda and vision's sons)

There is a difference between a cliche and a trope. Superman not being recognized with the glasses is not a cliche, is a trope. Superman being affected by Kryptonite is not a cliche, its a trope. And this is too (it would be like saying "Please, no more of the I love you but we can´t be together cliche" about a romance movie...)

@@zaviaplummer7988 please Smallville was about teen drama and later more about why Clark had to keep his identity to protect everyone....it didn't deal with mortgages, holding your marriage together, raising kids...while still trying to be a hero.. Smallville: Dad won't let me join the football team because he says I have unfair advantage S&L: print is dying so we have to downsize, so we are letting you go.

If that's what you're worried about then you should call it quits before you start watching. Pretty much every Arrowverse show is created by roughly the same people. The former Flash showrunner now works on Superman & Lois.

This is an interesting new twist on Superman without changing the character. Loving it so far. We have seen his origin story 1,234 times, but we have never seen Clark Kent as a father. Only briefly. This makes me more interested in the series.

I only expected the conflict of the series to be the stranger or the guy in the bulletproof armor, but I’m really intrigued to see what is gonna happen with Superman’s sons when they find out he’s Superman because it looks like there will be something interesting there...

I hope they don't drag the whole "you lied to me" about being superman drama. I mean c'mon it feels like that is the recipe for all cw shows: where the hero doesn't tell his loved ones his secret because they would be in danger. And it wouldn't make much difference anyway
