This was an interesting movie since it came out at a time where we wanted more action and now that we have man of steel and other garbage movies with amazing effects now people want a movie more like Superman returns now. Admittedly this was an interesting case because I don’t really think people were really asking for another Reeves style Superman, but after the current DCEU I’ve seen a lot more recognition for this movie. It’s really like this came out at the wrong time. Of course if this were to come out now I’m sure there would have ended up better since by now I think studios are starting to understand what works and doesn’t, and I also think now movie studios aren’t afraid of exploring more niche storylines as well. Who knows, I just think Brandon Routh did a good job especially as a relative newcomer, and he had some big shoes to fill.
