Superman looks soooo oooollld, like damn, guess Kryptonian aging doesn't exist yet, also Lana should be REAL pissed that Clark can't make a rejuvenation formula like Lex did. Larry and Joan getting into a relationship, the super gingers they'll spawn. Lex: I would've seen my son's wedding... Except that time when we discover Charles Xavier was doing some real fucked up stuff. And then Cyclops and many of the other X-Men broke up after learning about his true evil nature. And that other time where he became Onslaught.

Actually, Luthor was originally drawn with red hair. One of his henchmen was bald. When they brought the character back years later, apparently the artist was confused and used the bald man as Luthor. Eventually, they distinguished that the red-haired Luthor was the Earth-2 version, and the bald one was on Earth-1.

@@jsimpers The Fleischer Brothers studio cartoon was actually the first appearance of the bald Luthor, with the artist on the cartoon confusing the bald henchman with Luthor. The Fleischer cartoon was so popular that it was decided to make the comic book Luthor bald.

Man being Lois Lane's best man has aged Superman so much. In Silver Age did all houses come with a shrine room? Is the conspiracy that bald equal evil a means to sales more wigs? Did the Green Lanternantern try to sell Lois Lane a power ring for a dollar as a wedding ring at any of her weddings? I have so many questions! Awesome video as always 👍👍

You started brainstorming how they develop a fuse was just so good. Everytime you do this you make me wish I was in an alternate universe where they consulted you on ideas for comics because I would SO read. Not only are you great at critiquing but you’re great at adding depth and genuinely like a lot of the stories you cover.

We actually did. Twice! The good Lex Luther of Earth 3, before it was destroyed in the first CRISIS. Sported a red goatee. He was even married to that universe’s Lois. And the there’s the time he cloned himself a younger buff bod complete with red beard and enough flowing locks to make Michael Bolton jealous. That continuity was wiped out too. Face it, even the universe is against Lex having hair, or Lois!

Wow! I'm starting to scare myself! After watching the original vid, I wrote that the story should have been about Superman's daughter being Black Luthor's romantic interest/foe. And here we get a sequel I knew nothing about it, and that's what happened! Maybe I should get a hold of the DC crew and let them know if they ever want to do serious Silver Age stories that I could plot them out for them. Instead of the pseudo-silver age stories they do. I seem to have a talent for it. LOL!

This seems to me like an odd story to do a sequel to, but in a twisted kind of way I like combining the bloodlines of Lex and Superman. It makes me feel like if you went though enough generations you'd eventually have every superpowered being related through a complex web of marriages.

These stories are the best! It would love to see an interview with the writers to see where their minds were at when the y wrote these stories. Did they really believe in some of these messages that they were sending or they just wrote what was expected? Did they ever change their views on society?

Superman was playing the long game. If Mr. Playing-Hard-to-Get Superman can't have Lois Lane, then his daughter with a another woman will marry the son of Lois Lane whom she had with another man! Also, it mixes in the genes of Lana Lang, Lois's rival, and Lex Luthor, Superman's exfriend/archenemy. One big happy family, I guess....

It was a trope that something as simple as being hit in the head could cause you to change your personality, kind of like a radio changing stations. So becoming good or evil was easy in a story, and you could change your sex or age or race or whatever with a fingersnap. It was kind of like a sitcom version of early D&D, where picking up an item could change your alignment or character class. ;)

....I'm sorry Sasha, soooooooo SORRY,.....the Crisis On Infinite Earths destroyed this reality!!!! That bad ole Anti-Monitor wiped out all of these errant time/story lines, "oh the humanity!" (sob, sniffle, sniffle) As a child of the 70's-80's i really enjoyed these one off stories, they were just sequential art storytelling junk, but well worth the 25-35-60-75 cent we plopped down on 'em. Oh well comics aficionados. MAD LOVE Woman, PEACE, and God bless.

It was always funny to me how being bald was a curse back in the day. Now bald is the new sexy. So I guess nowadays if a dude, (and yes, I said "dude"), loses his beard, will he have a crazy urge to become evil and take over the world? I'm sorry, take over the Universe... HA HA HA HA!
