Superman vs Zod was the first time a fight in any superhero movie truly felt straight out from a comic book or a cartoon. The scale, the destruction, the intensity, all those were something unique. That's how a fight between Goku and Vegeta would look like in live action.
@@MUDA.MUDA.MUDA.MUDA. Are we talking about, "broken English", when you're the only one in here that is lacking grammar. No punctuations? No capitalization of nouns? Cry me a river you moron.
Respectfully disagree. Batman handling Luthor's thugs in BvS is the tops in my opinion (because of minimal CGI and awesome choreography), followed by this fight, then Diana charging the front lines in WW.
3:45 I shed tears during this moment. I understand Zod's pain. He was born to fight for the best of Krypton. He had to kill. He was raised not for his interest but for the people he sworn to protect. It's either his own or none. He and Superman would've been best friends if they had meet in different circumstances. Hands down the best of villain.
Zod had true motivations in order to be evil Not like oh yeah I want to level up Universe and that stupid snap After this movie I never trusted critics ever, those people just need money and that's it they will do whatever you want them to do
@@Puddledrowner22 thanos' motivations were actually very realistic and even more so if you watch theories from the latest eternals movie. thanos, in theory, was actually trying to save everyone.
@@ailivo8060 Bro shut yo lying ass up. Thanos could've told the avengers a out that, the real truth is that, thanos never knew about the celestials, he did that shit because he was psychotic. He could've easily doubled the resources instead of killing half of the universe.
0:05 "I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the sole purpose for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent or how cruel, is for the greater good of my people. 😢😢😢 And now... I have no people. My soul... 😠😡🤬 That is what you have taken FROM ME!! I'm going to make them suffer, Kal! These human beings you've adopted, I will take them all from you one by one!!"
4:10-5:08 The battle that determines if whether it's good or evil that wins. This is no longer a fight between men this is the stuff legends are made of.
Majin Vegeta he's a tyrant & yeah he's not evil because he wants to kill all the all living things on earth to terraform a new planet yeah that's not evil at all don't confuse him with vegeta lol plus my comment wasn't directed to Superman & Zod if you had a wider perspective in music like I do you'd know what I'm talking about.
"Look at this. We could have built a new Krypton in this squalor. But you chose the humans over us. I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the sole purpose for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent, or cruel... is for the greater good of my people. And now, I have no people. My soul... that... is what you have taken FROM ME! *[STRIKING Superman]* I’m going make them suffer, Kal. These humans you’ve adopted, I will take them all from you one by one. "-You’re a monster, Zod. And I’m gonna stop you."
"How? The Phantom Zone is gone. There isn't a cell on this planet that can hold me. Your father couldn't stop me. And I know you don't have what it takes to stop me."
Hurts like hell thinking about it. I'd love nothing more than seeing zod in action again . What a fucking beastly performance by shanon. The amount of fear / respect and authority zod commands....no sissy villian comes even close ( on big screens). Darkseid will surely match him when he gets his time...but as of now zod reigns supreme for me.
Doctor: "you will only live for two more minutes!" Me: "I want to hear this music!" Doctor: "but that's!" God: "yes, I can keep you alive cause apparently I'm more powerful than the only thing that keeps you humans alive, really.... the brain 🧠
@Ninja Gamer it’s not me forcing it on you But at the same time people don’t show it any respect by making it so clear to everyone that they don’t believe
4:37 - 5:17 By far the most intense part in thee entire video P.S this is the part when they fall back down to earth with all the fireballs crashing down with them
@@billcosby6753 seriously? they both good to me,,, i have watched all marvels and dc movies and so far marvel never have a fight as epic as superman vs zod.. correct me if i am wrong.
I love how even during the intense sequences there are sad tones to remind that this is not just a cool fight but a fight between kal el and the only other person of his near extinct race
3:43 - 5:20 This part here is so epic, especially the moment when Lois and co. look back and see the broken satellite along with Sup and Zod burning upon entering earth’s atmosphere.
I like how this song is a clash between Superman’s and General Zod’s theme. Around certain points you can hear their musical motifs clashing with each other, trying to establish dominance. At 2:40 you can hear Zod’s theme. It’s loud, powerful, and aggressive. 3:40 is Superman’s response. Finally at 5:08 they’re at peak volume as a final test of who’s louder.
I'd like to imagine the coir behind Superman's part at 3:40 is humanity and how zod only has this alien like orchestral melody and no coir at all it's really well made
5:24 the sad music for Zod’s death made it heartbreaking because you saw two men who just loved their people fight to the death. it put Superman in a lose-lose situation that would have been unbelievably tragic irl. Imagine blaming him for not smiling enough lol
I honestly love this movie its a 10/10 for me. The music, the story (im not a comic book reader so idk about the lore or canon) but its just a well rounded movie for me. Top 3 movies of all time imo. Thanks Zack for MoS and BvS UE, you were the best director for these super hero movies especially DC. Update: whose hyped asf for The Snyder Cut!!
The entire final battle between Kal and Zod felt more intense to me than most of the final battles in the mcu. It wasn't just a battle to save a planet, it was a personal battle of ideals.
I imagine a collision between two clans when that part plays cuz that’s kind of what Superman and Zod resemble two powerful clans going against each other
4:43 is the most moving for me, its like the exact moment Kal El realizes that the brave and righteous man his father knew is gone, and that he now has to kill the only other survivor of his people or see everything he loves destroyed, the choir kicks back in and it just takes the entire movie to whole other level.
He didn't hate himself for killing Zod, it was because it was so easy to do in the end. It was the absence of remorse. He hated himself for it. Hence, Batman's vision in B vs S.
and yet, people still think darkseid is a copy of thanos smh. I hate those type of marvel fans. Most marvel fans are just MCU fans these days. I'm both dc and marvel fan, i played the games read both comics and lore, but i still hate the fact that there are people who think darkseid is a copy of thanos
@@ppprenxx True. In behalf of the MCU fandom, we don't claim those "fans" who hate anything that's not Marvel/MCU. I'm both a DCEU and MCU fan too. I love how the MCU did Thanos tho, they made him such an iconic villain.
@@brightburnedits4278 yeah ik but have you heard that people start disliking the new darkseid design because they thought darkseid is a copy of thanos?
This does not feel like a Super Heroe Fighting its Final Fight... This is more like Gods Fighting to the End... H smokes! never did I receive 1k likes thanks mates!
I'm personally under the impression that Zod could have beaten Super man fairly quickly if he had actually wanted to. If you watch it again you can see that Zod has a clear advantage over him for about 75% of that fight, but he's just swinging wildly, all rage. Think of his training, which he even mentions, "where did you train? ON A FARM?!" And anytime he speaks he's taunting Kal, telling him what he's gonna do to his humans. He was trying to make superman kill him from the start, he wanted to die. Cuz what happens if he beats superman, he kills all the humans... then what, he will have nothing to live for and probably have nothing left alive that could kill him, so he made superman mad enough and then took away his choice with the near lasering of some innocents.
Technically no. It wasn't physically possible for him to want to die because he was genetically programmed to fight for Krypton. If he succeeded he would have a new Krypton. I believe the only reason Supes won was plot Armor. Idt screenwriter could think of a way to give a winning advantage to Supes so they just made it seem like he got lucky and put Zod in a Chokehold. Also zod wasn't holding back at all. If he wanted to die he would hold back to maximize the chances of his death
@@madhavgupta5481 Superman beating Zod has generally been explained throughout the comics as that although Zod is far better trained in combat, Superman has much, much better mastery over his powers since he's had them longer. He's also a fair bit more powerful than Zod for the same reason. Raw power can trump skill sometimes.
@@Shadow_of_Sundered_Star yup I've been thinking this train of thought for a few days. As we saw in the scene and the end, he didn't have control over the heat vision and in the end he was literally destroying his own body to spew that heat beam. It was a lot uncontrolled, like doomsday, whereas Supe's beam is sharp and clean. Moreover Zod only has the genes to become a warrior whereas Supes has the genes of every single role in Kryptonian society. So while zod only fights like a warrior, Supes must draw inspiration from other roles such as builders. Not to mention as you said, Supes has been absorbing the sun for quite a long time. And after all he had his ass handed to him the whole fight and the way he managed to get Zod into a Chokehold in the end while flying through the air is obviously because of superior brute strength which also explains why Zod wasn't able to break it.
Actually he is evil as hell lmao (from the humanity view). The difference that he has a purpose, he's the lawful evil type, not a bad guy just for fun and chaos like Joker, Zod wants to save his race does not matter how evil and cruel he needs to be.
The tragic part about Zod was that he was genetically bred to be a warrior and a brutal soldier so thats why his emotions and pure hatred outweighed his judgement. He could have recreated krypton without eliminating all of earth. The truth is though Zod was a true patriot and fought until the last breath for krypton even if it was a suicide mission he was the first to lead the kryptonian survivors to earth and the last to die.
@@reflectcard6258 From a certain point of view perhaps. If their race succeded than humans would be the evils trying to make them go extinct... by our presence
4:08 Hearing this part again in Batman vs Superman where Kal sacrifices himself was beautiful, Junkie did an amazing job with Hans doing the soundtrack
We are living in the Golden Age of Comic book movies and Man of Steel proves that watching Superman and Zod fly through the air while punching each other reminds me of the fights in the comics its a dream come true but I hate it how its divided between the fans in how he killed Zod like many complains but don't listen to reason why he killed him in the first place and the evidence was visible and clear.. Edit: Those Golden Age moments are gone. For now. We got the Endgame fights. Infinity War. Shangi-Chi. And various others like Man of Steel. But thanks WB for all the hard work you've done. Edit: F*ck you WB.
The best air battle scene, the best action escene in the entire DC Universe, and one of the best soundtracks ever made. This movie was awesome from start to finish, but this battle is just, breathtaking!
"Krypton had it's chance" Powerful line. Imagine using it but in a context where Krypton is Planet Earth. Let's not waste our natural resources. Masterpiece of soundtrack and movie.
the chance to reconstruct krypton on any other star, like their ancestors did. jor el only saved his son’s ass, kryptonians aren’t fully bred if they don’t pass trough the genesis chamber, so extracting the skull codex to his baby’s body was pretty useless unless he knew what he wanted. in fact he knew very well what he really wanted, which in my opinion was to disestablish the artificial population control and to restore what he believed to be something precious, the element of “choice”.. etc.
@Muhammad Hanzo those born naturally are not kryptonians they are simply degenerates like superman, jor and the lawmakers that led krypton to ruin. krypton is moral. not only flesh and bones.
"look at this. We could've built a new krypton in this squalor but you chose the humans over us... When I was at college. I had to complete an assignment in under an hour before it had to be handed in. I basically just put this theme on. Set to repeat, and had the volume at 50. Just zoned out from the rest of the class at that point. It helped very much. Finished it with 15 minutes remaining.

I watched this movie tonight, the first time, and for fuck sake it's one of the longest and best end fights I've ever seen can't discribe it in words Some one said its like an fight against Goku and Vegeta, and he is completely right! This. Was. The. Most. Epic. Fight. Ever!
5:17 this is why this is probably my favorite moment in any superman, he is desperately trying to stop him, desperately trying to save this random family he sees the fear in there eyes , yet he at this point in time he doesn't even know what can stop a Kryptonian, he hates the fact he has to do it, but yet he sacrifices that part of himself that chunk of soul to save humanity batman doesn't kill because hes afraid of himself superman doesn't want to kill because he doesn't want to kill
I like to think about time, past and present. Old movies from the 70's maybe 40's and movies from our time. And I think it would be fascinating to be able to bring people from the past, the golden era, and put them to watch this scene. See how they react to the visuals, the music, the sound, the crudeness of this entire scene, the fight and the resolution. Now imagine someone from the year 2094 taking us to his time to watch his superman movie. With the technology of that time O.O
the worlds most powerful VR experience, you're hooked up to a suit-mechanic similar to the Jaegers from Pacific Rim, with air blown at you and realistic crash simulation etc. Would be friggin sick
The first time I saw BF3 I thought it was real life images. So i don't even know. It would be insane. They,d probably have s heart Attack because of how epic it is.
Saitama is a hero if heroes were realistic. He becomes one to solve his problems. Hell it's how he makes his money. He's a hero because that's how he's gonna make ends meet and I think that's a way more interesting reason to become a hero. Don't you?
