Supermarket Marketing Techniques and the Psychology of Shopping 

That's why I buy from online supermarkets. I don't see the goods so I don't buy what I don't need. If I go to the supermarket because I need a couple of things, I end up buying 8 or 10 just because I see them. But I don't really need them.

I want to see this man figure me out. I've been told I shop like bachelor, I'm a girl mind you, but also I shop like that of a single parent, when I have no children and single. I'm still very young at heart so I still buy things that a child would like, like fruit snacks or gummy candy and snack cakes. I always buy family type meals because I have to make things last because I can't shop for more then every two to three weeks I also like spicy food and I'm trying to eat better so healthy items too. So because of this I'm sure he'd think I'm a married young health conscious mother with grade school children. Also funny story I hate it when the lights are to low, it makes me want to get out faster. The same thing with slow dull music, I feel tired and because I have a time limit it will only make me want to get out faster. Also the sounds that they say people don't like that they had on the sound board all made me happy to hear. Also scents upset me, even if it's a food I might like, because chances are, because of my budget, I can't buy what ever the items are.

That's why i never use a trolley whn grocery shopping either I use a small basket or clutch stuff in my hands that way I only buy what i need

Ok i get the whole loyalty card thing, but surely they know whats being sold though the till? Am i missing something?

Ah ha, well fast food takeaway restaurants use laboratory-made "bottled fragrance" to entice customers, so I spose it stands to reason that other shops and supermarkets will too. I'm the sort of guy who when shopping has a list and follows it. I don't like wasting money unnessesarilly, and I hate grocery shopping anyway so the faster I get outa the place the happier I am. ;-)

are supermarkets even allowed to price things at $__.99 since they removed the penny.
