As someone who has lost a brother, this scene really hit differently.

This is literally the saddest death in tv history. I cried for 10 minutes after this. The fact that Dean kept telling Sam to tell him it’s ok to die. And Sam says “You can go now” literally tore me to pieces

the worst apart about people saying goodbye is that the others have to carry on

what makes it worse is you can tell how much jared and jensen were hurting filming this. those aren’t acting tears. they’re saying goodbye to a 15 year long journey they’ve embarked on together

0:19 "There he is." I don't know why that makes me weep, but it does. Imagine looking at someone the way Dean was looking at Sam. Someone who you brought up, raised, someone who spent their entire life fighting and living with you. Imagine knowing they are the amazing human being they are because of the love you gave them. Oh man.

It's the most emotional moment. The fact when Dean practically begged him to say it's ok.

"I love you so much, my baby brother" When I saw this moment, I started to cry so badly

I will not for a moment ever believe that those were "acting tears" from Jensen and Jared, nor that Dean's "I love you so much...my baby brother" was just something he had to say in character. Those were real tears, a real line, and very real emotions. For Jensen and Jared to go their own ways after 15 seasons of a show, during which they formed a true and lasting friendship, must have been so difficult. And to film this scene must have hurt very much, in a lot of ways. I began watching in Supernatural in 2005, when I was only 16. I'm now 32 years old (as of 12/24/2020) and have literally and figuratively grown up with these boys. They will always be in my heart. #AKA. xoxo

Lets be honest here, If Sam didn't say "it's okay", Dean would be the stubborn dude he is and would refuse to die and come back once again, he just needed the reassurance that Sammy is ok and doesn't have to come back.

Not a single movie/show/scene had ever made me cry so hard. I wept the whole day as though I lost someone close. This show, these actors are once in a lifetime.

This is the only death of a fictional character that ever got me. I grew up with the Winchester brothers, and as the years went by they grew up with me too. I still come back to this scene sometimes, as its a beautiful yet heartbreaking scene.

Pepper to Tony: “you can rest now...” Sam to Dean: “you can go now...”

Let's face it, there will never be another show like Supernatural and never be another set of brothers like the Winchesters again. Sam & Dean forever!

Jared‘s acting skills are WAYYYY underrated I mean you can feel him putting all his heart inside such a emotional scene … love ya ❤️

That's what got me. Dean knew he had to leave, but he wanted his brother to accept it first. To know, to understand. That it was real and not going to change. There was no spell to revive him, there was no demon pact that would bring him back. This was his end. And Dean accepted it. Dean wanted to finally tell Sam exactly how much he loved his little brother and let him know that he could continue on, even without Dean by his side.

Its a great feeling when you realize that Dean loved hunting and died doing it. While Sam just wanted to live a normal life and died living a normal life. Ima miss these guys RIP The Winchester Brothers

Nothing made me cry more than Dean admitting to waiting for hours in front of Sam's dorm. Now I go to watch that scene in the pilot in different light and all the bitterness in Dean's expression makes sense. It also makes sense why he was back to rescue Sam after Jess's death. He must have stayed behind thinking what he would do without Sam now.

It feels like my child hood is dying with Dean and im finally growing up

I read this on the SPN page, these tears that they had in their eyes were real, after 15 years their characters were coming to their end, they felt the emotion and sadness while acting like sam and dean did when this happened to both of them.

My Dad and I invested 7 years into this show, he hugged me after the credits rolled because he knew how much this scene broke me. I cried in the bathroom for 10 minutes after this episode.

The Minute Sam Said “It’s Okay, You Can Go Now” Dean Finally Stopped Fighting To Live. You Can Watch This Scene A Million Times Over And The Loss, Pain, The Tears Will Always Be There And It Won’t Make It Hurt Any Less😢😥😢😥😢😥😢

I cried for like 20 minutes. I’m not okay. I love this dude. We love this dude. And died doing what he did. Saving people and hunting things. He was the hero we got and the one we didn’t deserve. We love you Dean!

Somehow I knew this would happen. It doesn't make it any less sadder.

This hurt so much. I had a 2 day long headache because of how hard I cried. I can’t put into words the amount absolute utter raw PAIN this scene (and every scene after this) made me go through. The finale chewed my heart out and ran over it over and over and over and over again.

Here's a trick. We all were sad to see Dean die in the middle of the episode, but to see him united with Sam at the end of the episode made it less tragic, after all, we wanted to see the brothers together, no matter Earth or Heaven. But, the thing is, even though it was nothing for Dean to spend time waiting for his brother in heaven as the time there is quick, the time spent by Sam in Earth has been shown fast-forwarded, not what actually he had to go through alone, each second, minute, hour, days, weeks, months, and years, until he gets old, marries, has a kid, his kid grows, and finally when he is in his deathbed. That's a really really long time to have spent, I can't even begin to imagine how he must have done that all along. The only one day shown properly when Sam was alone, he cooks alone, eats alone, goes into Dean's room is sufficient enough to break my heart, I can't imagine all these years how he had to spend missing him during beers, pies, foods, hunting, etc. That's a hell of a long time, and a hell of a journey Sam did to meet Dean. But it was not shown properly, making us think the brothers are together; while it must have taken a lot of years, we focused on their union in heaven and not the tragic journey of Sam. Kudos to the writers for doing this, else we fans would have been mad if we focused on that part. 👏👏 Miss you SPN 😣😣

The fact that Dean actually tells Sam “I love you so much” And “My baby brother” not “My little brother” Then Dean begs Sam to tell him “It’s okay” Tell him “It’s okay you can go now” Dean wants to needs to hear Sam say he’s going to be okay on his own Dean can go in peace knowing his baby brother is going to okay. I don’t know about you but this is the #1 scene that just breaks my heart. 💔😭😭😭

Started Supernatural last year and just finished the series finale earlier today. There have been many emotional moments, but not one as compared to this. As soon as Dean said "i'm so proud of you," I lost it. This is the only scene from the show that made me cry the most. Thank you Dean and Sam for 15 amazing years.

Still can’t get over that all the times he said he wanted to get out and now they were finally free and so that’s why he didn’t want Sam making deals to bring him back. He never wanted to leave sammy alone and that’s why he asked him to tell him that it’s okay so that he can leave peacefully. I’m still crying like I just I have no words I can’t man I can’t

The chemistry between Jensen and Jared is unparalleled. It doesn't surprise me that they are best friends in real life.

I honestly don't know why I was stupid enough to watch this again, now I'm in floods of tears. I cried the whole way through but when Dean asked Sam to tell him it was OK to go, I felt that like a god damn ton of bricks. My Mum ask me to tell her it was OK to go in her final moments, and even though I didn't want her to go I said yes and held her. I dont think I'll ever be able to watch this without knowing the exact pain Sam is going through in that moment

So... my mom loves this show... she was super excited for the ending. Unfortunately she passed away before she could see it. This was a show that we watched together so many times.... I really wish she could see it end. Miss you mom.

I know some people didn't like the fact that this is how Dean went down, but that's just life for most hunters. Think of how a simple sloppy mistake killed Rufus, think of how Bobby died. Ellen. Ash. Most of them had survived worse than what did them in in the end.

This episode aired shortly after I lost my father and it made me think of all the things I wished I could have said to him. How lucky and honored I was to have been his son and how much I hoped I had made him proud. Moral is, we all have that person in our lives that gives us strength to Always Keep Fighting. Tell them. Let them know while there’s time.

Them putting their foreheads together was the most beautiful thing and that one perfect tear though!! Oh, I cried! 😭 But Dean got his perfect ending. He died saving people, hunting things and Sam has a wife, kid, and got old shooting viagra! 😭😂 This was beautifully bittersweet. Dean can finally rest and put down all the weights on his shoulders. RIP Dean. This Dean girl will love you always.❤️

I truly admire Jensen and Jared with their acting in this scene. It must've been incredibly hard to do this and have it be as good as it is. You can feel the pain and hurt, mentally and physically. Even though I am still incredibly sad that Dean had to die, I believe this is the only way it could've happened for him. To be able to say goodbye to Sam was the best way. So many hunters on the show never got to say goodbye...Dean got to. :'(

I lost my brother a couple years back. Difference was I'm the big brother. But this scene, this finale hit me so hard and I cry every single time I see it. I wish I could've had this conversation with him and tell him it would be ok. This show has been a solace for me these past couple years, and it's hard to see it go.

It's not just a show that's ending but a part of my life as well. Words cannot express my gratitude. I will look back to fond memories of past and look forward to an optimistic future. I just finished supernatural yesterday, hearing Dean speaks about his waiting in the first mission outside the dorm which was in the first episode got me crying nonstop 😭😭 And " I love u so much my baby brother, tell me it's Okey" 🥺😭😭

Being a fan of this show from the very beginning I couldn't contain the sadness, only 3 times in my life have I ever cried like that....

when this aired, I wailed. Crying isn’t strong enough. It felt like my family. Jensen and Jared couldn’t have knocked this further out of the park. The hands shaking, the perfectly timed tear and exhale..... all of it. Immaculate. I’ve never felt a scene (in anything) more than this.

This scene felt like a stab in the heart. “I’m so proud of you”. “I love you so much”. Actually a stab would hurt less 💔 When Dean talked about him being afraid Sam would reject him when he came to get him at Stanford to find their Dad I lost it. RIP Dean Winchester.

My older brother was taking away from me a few years back I didn't have chance to say good vibe in fact our last conversation was brief and dumb I never thought that was the last time I was gonna heard his voice and this episode breaks my heart and make Me believe that my brother is talking to me saying goodbye to me we used to watch that show together at least the first 2 seasons we knew it was idiotic but the meaning of family and two brothers taking on those challenges that's what made us love supernatural after my brothers death I stop watching the show till I started rewatching it again just finished and damn that scene is what made supernatural so unique I miss you bro

I loved the ending, Dean died doing what he loved and Sam ended up living the normal life he always wanted... and both were reunited in a good place at the end
